first off i would like to say that i am not hating on Beyonce. She is a great singer , but she cant act i.e. Gold Member, Fightin Temptations, and that awful MTV musical thing she did.
But regardless of Beyonce’s acting, the Academy Awards dont just give oscars to anybody especailly black people. Halle Berry was the first black woman to win an oscar for BEST ACTRESS. So im 100% positive that Beyonce is not going to make the cut.

No one here has seen this movie to say if she is Oscar worthy or not. Her previous works weren’t all bad, but they weren’t all great either. What I do know is that Beyonce has had a longing passion to play Deena. I don’t know why people are making a big deal about the movie “DreamGirls”, usually when people do that the movie ends up floppin’. I heard that way back when the “Dreamgirls” the broadway play first came out, she didn’t even stay for the whole play. She walked out because she felt like they portrayed her negatively or something to that effect. That’s purely hearsay but it has been said that she didn’t like Dreamgirls.

please! From what i’ve seen of the trailer, bey is spoiling her own hopes for an oscar with them wack ass acting skills! Please!

I hope Diana does nothing to try and sabotage this movie though, cause she needs to sit her ass down somewhere, although i like her as an entertainer, she did the exact thing to billie holliday! Karma is a bitch when it comes around to you! I guess it’s hella different when the knife is in your back (bitch stabbed so many folk in the back - she was a “no limit soldier” when it came to climbing the entertainment ladder!) LMAO at her jealousy.

People please…Beyonce named should be nowhere in the same sentence as Oscar. Yes, the girl can sing her flat a$$ off. But winning an Oscar? Do you realize that you actually have to be a good actor to win an Oscar? And I don’t blame Diana (if this is true) for being a little pist off. Hell, they are putting that wood in her. How are you gonna base a movie on someone’s life but change some parts so you don’t have to pay that person any royalties AND do not let that person in on how the movie will be told? I don’t see her trying to sabotage Beyonce at all, I see her getting the vaseline out b/c she is trying to stick the wood back in the creators. But LMAO at the Bey stans thinking that Bey has improved her acting skills that much to where she is Oscar worthy.

Bey is a smart cookie! Now think, where did we first hear this film was being considered for an oscar? Where? Uh, i heard it from bey through her interviews. To date, i haven’t heard any credible sources even discuss this film as being possibly nominate for any oscars, neither any of the actors/singers performances in them? This is marketing as usual by Bey. She’s really good at blowing smoke up folks ass, hyping things, making them appear another way. She’s hoping the people who nominate the films look at her film twice now since she’s now said it’s oscar worthy…and maybe, just like a lot of people, they might believe the hype and give her a oscar. That’s why she’s been pluggin the movie for over a year, and she’s the only one mentioning oscars. I personally haven’t heard it from any other source. There’s a name for the marketing techniques she uses. She’s actually alot smarter than i’ve been giving her credit for.

On a website that predicts movies that will recieve Oscar nods

In Premiere, Fade In and Entertainment Weekly magazines

ALL of these were before Beyonce started addressing the oscar buzz…not hyping

The reason why the movie is getting lots of Oscar buzz is mainly bc the play was widely recieved and won lots of Toni’s..the equivalent of an Oscar on Broadway

Secondly, the film is being directed by an Academy Award winning director…who directed Chicago. ..another musical that did big things at the 2003 oscars…as well as gave Queen Latifah her first Oscar nomination

Thirdly it has an allstar black cast, its a musical, its a semi-biopic, and its retro…which The Academy Award Voters love…..

I guarantee you this movie will get lots of Oscar Noms..and win them…

Okay, i stand corrected…i haven’t heard anyone else mention this film and oscar in the same breath but bey. But if you say so, i believe you.

But still, i haven’t heard anyone else pluggin or talking about this movie like bey. I haven’t heard jamie foxx, eddie murphy, or any of the other actors “hyping” this film as bey has been doing. She’s been pluggin the hell out of the film and mentioning herself and oscar in the same sentence. And in her interviews, she can elect not to talk about it, so it’s obviously something she’s trying to plug.

At the end of the day, while the movie’s director, jamie foxx, and whoever might be oscar worthy, i still say if bey hasn’t stepped up her acting skills (and by the trailer she’s no where in the ball park of a oscar) there’s no way SHE will get an oscar - so Ms. Ross can sit down on this one..no need to campaign cause bey’s acting skills leaves muuuuuuuch to be desired. Point blank and put bluntly, “bitch can’t act!” Bless her heart for trying though.

If beyonce when an oscar this early in her acting career when its other talented black women who never had one after long syear I would be pissedoff really. I agree with Diana Ross

EBONY87…I don’t think Diana has anything to worry about in regards to B being nominated for an Oscar for this movie or any in the future for that matter. She just isn’t a good actress. The only one I’m hearing any buzz about is Jennifer Hudson. I don’t believe this story.

MEATLOAF…Did you ever watch Jennifer on AI. She was my favorite, but she had all these facial expressions that confused people. I think this is the perfect venue for her. She’s a natural.

FOREVERME…Speaking for myself, I’m not trying to put Beyonce down. I have an opinion. I happen to be black as well. I’m not obligated to like B just because we are both of the same race. I think she is a good singer for the type of music she sings, but it isn’t “deep” enough for me. Her songs are quite basic IMO. I don’t mind a simple dance tune now and then, but generally I like songs with a little more meaning. Also, I can’t stand the way she dances. It doesn’t seem natural. She looks like she’s in a fight most of the time. She is not very graceful.

People are just stating their opinions, and what’s obvious - BITCH CAN’T FUCKIN ACT DAMMIT!” If she could pull acting skills out of her ass i’d think she would have done that by now. She didn’t do well in any of the other films, i didn’t hear none of the critics rave about annny of her past movie performances, and from looking at this trailer, the acting tragedies continue. Shit, i get so sick of people with their preaching bullshit when someone doesn’t kiss bey’s ass! I mean really, she’s given credit when and where it’s due. The minute she doesn’t receive an A+ on a project she’s working on, and by everyone, people want to jump down their throats…Just because we are black, we don’t have to support her non-acting ass just because she’s black. That’s a damn stupid comment - people (no matter the color) should be awarded things on their merit! If they earn it, give it to them..if they don’t back to the drawing board.. You need to go somewhere with that bullshit! I swear if Beyonce wins an Oscar ( she keeps slippin the fact that she wants an oscar before shes 30 into EVERY interview) before some women who have worked and acted their asses off, i.e. Angela Bassett, I will scream!! Halle worked her ass off (acting) for years before she got hers. Don’t get me wrong - a good movie is a good movie and good acting is good acting, but come on now!
