What can I say? Lauryn Hill put out some classic material when she released The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (’98). This has to be one of my favorite tracks (& videos) off of the whole album, because the music speaks for itself. I hope she gets it together, because we are in need of more timeless jams.

I think she just cracked under pressure. All the Grammys and critical acclaim of the album was too much for her. Not everyone is built for fame but I do hope she gets it toghether and makes a ‘comeback’.

Nearly 10 years later and this song is still the shit. Lauryn is such a brilliant woman with a message, she is so beyond materialism and shaking your ass in the club, that the industry is afraid of her. The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is one of the greatest albums ever recorded.

This song and “The Sweetest Thing” from the Love Jones soundtrack (1997) are two of the most beautiful and relevant songs ever written regarding relationships. I miss her talent, class, and beauty. She is a true original. However, don’t fret. She is only around 31 or so, and I really don’t think we’ve seen the last of Ms. Hill.

She has this song called “the passion” not from dat album but from the passion of christ soundtrack, ayo, that is a serious video and the song is timeless as fuck, check dat shit out.
