Oh Wee! This is Hawt garbage! Amerie has been slipping. I’ve liked everything of hers up till Touch, the single. And there were plenty of decent songs of her last album. I hope she’s been working on some better material and more importantly removing herself from the same ole rich harrison sound that was officially done to death with B’Day.

I think its a good song. It wasnt like deja vu that made my hears hurt as soon as i heard it.
The only thing lackin in the song is wider vocals skills and attitude. i think Nicole of the Pussycat dolls probably would have pulled it off better or even beyonce, christina aguilera.

Man this track is dope, it might not be as commercial as “1 Thing” though it still is a powerful track. The guitar riffs are crazy & so is the intro! It just takes a little while to get used to but thats all. By the way, Amerie does have a beautiful soul voice, shes got that similar technique to James Brown & thats why I love her.

Many people loved Amerie’s first cd, but I thought her second one was a lot better. Didn’t care too much for the single “Touch” though.

And yes, this song is different from what’s playing on the airwaves right now but I think it’s what radio needs to make it fun again. Learn to think out the box for once. this track is mad crazy, but i dug the other clip of hers that leaked a while back even more. i think it was called “that’s what you are.” the beat was hard and smooth like no other.

not really feeling this that much, the beat could use a little more umph and be a little faster, the arrangement of the chorus was good and the writing was good, just something about the music i wasn’t feeling and i am usually a fan of live instruments, it’s a throwback vibe i’m not really feeling.

See, this is what urks me on this blog, just because some people said they didn’t like the song they are some “haters” remember to each is his own people.

this song is almost a throwback to the funk era. noone knows what funk is anymore and i feel amerie for trying to bring it back. do ya thang girl!

really feelin this song

This song was sooooooooooo boring I fell asleep halfway through the first chorus. Her vocals are bland, the tempo is bland and there’s nothing here that makes me want to listen to it twice. It’s not even the type of joint that would “grow” on me, no matter how much it’s played.

Amerie is NOT a good singer in any respect. Her voice has a slightly unique tinge to it and that’s the only reason she has lasted this long in the game (album wise). It’s a mix of false vibratto and screeching cat. This is why “Why Don’t We Fall In Love” worked so well. And while I appreciate her style and the fact that she is trying to do something different musically by adding a lot of instrumentation, it simply doesn’t work on this track.

honestly, I just love the energy of the song. like someone mentioned, this song is not all that new- this is just the first time we’ve gotten to hear a full version.

anyway, I doubt this will be the first single. I just think the song has a great, intense energy.

Personally, I happen to like the song and I think Amerie has a cute voice. Not a belter’s type of voice, but it’s distinctive enough for you to know that it’s Amerie. Although this song is not completely original, I think it’s different enough to give the music industry the shot in the arm that it so desperately needs right now. If this song has an exciting video, then I believe it will succeed. It’s kind of do or die for her. If this album doesn’t do well, it might be her last chance. If people would get over their media-induced Beyonce obsession and realize that there is room for everybody to do well, this song might have a chance.

Beyonce should take note and learn how to write and make quality music like Amerie.

im so excited that amerie isnt using the go go sound as a crutch. since bey is killin the vibe move on, and she has once again found something original that bey will no doubt bite off of in about a year and a half.

amerie does her thing, she writes her shit, produces (and no most artists dont get co-production credits on the albums, especially female artists), she is better at vocal arrangement than beyonce, and there is no way that anyone is going to say that ciara’s paper thin “voice” is better than amerie. lol

amerie is the real deal, and if the leaks are any indication shes building herself a nice early career catalogue.

It’s just something about her I don’t like. The only song from her that I got into was “Talkin’ to me”.
