#69 Personally, I happen to like the song and I think Amerie has a cute voice. Not a belter’s type of voice, but it’s distinctive enough for you to know that it’s Amerie. Although this song is not completely original, I think it’s different enough to give the music industry the shot in the arm that it so desperately needs right now. If this song has an exciting video, then I believe it will succeed. It’s kind of do or die for her. If this album doesn’t do well, it might be her last chance. If people would get over their media-induced Beyonce obsession and realize that there is room for everybody to do well, this song might have a chance.

#67 the beat is sick…her voice aint that good on it..but the song is hot…if she gets a good video for it..its gonna blow up…it has potential.

I’m somewhat in agreement with these two posts. I like the vibe of the song but I cant put my finger on why im not feeling her voice on it. She’s not the best singer but she doesnt lack vocal ability either. Its there sometimes! Its like Amerie has those hit or miss tracks. Sometimes she sounds good and other times its like wtf! She’s a beautiful woman with legs to die for!!! and she’s very smart

On another note, this post is suppose to be Amerie and this song and not comparing her to other artists. For the Beyonce fans and haters, stop comparing the two because these two artists cant compare b/c they have their styles and taste/talent that they bring to the table. There’s room for everyone.

Lastly, stop bringing up Beyonce in every post. This post should be about Amerie and thats it. The hate for Beyonce on this site is so thick its suffocating! It’s like people look for reasons to talk negatively about her on any and every post, even when the posts have nothing to do with her!

Her voice isn’t strong enough to carry the song, that’s why it sounds off. Her light voice makes it sound like a Disney channell song.

Sorry, but this song is wack and the vocals are scary. The fact that it was recorded and tweaked in the studio and STILL sounds like that is frightning. I’m so sick of what is passed off as singing now adays. I like Amerie and I’ve enjoyed both her albums, but sometimes she chooses material that is way to difficult for her voice. This song w/ be 10x better w/ some stroung soulful vocals.

I do agree however that Beyonce completely sqagger jacked Amerie’s sound from her first and second album. There is NO denying that. The only difference is Beyonce sings 1000X better than Amerie and can perform the hell out of a song. Amerie seems like a nice young lady, but the vocals are not there at all. I hope she comes with more fire that this, I know she has it in her!

Anxiously awaiting what’s next, I haven’t gave up yet….

Wow I really like this song. I remember hearing 1 thing and thinking mmmm wtf happended to the “All I Have” Amerie but 1 thing grew on me in a huge way making it one of my all time favorite club bangers. This is another hot track and Amerie just keeps bringing the heat. She definitely has it vocally but she does not show it on this track. I can’t wait to hear what she did with Bryan M Cox, DJ Pemier, The Buchanans…and of course the Curtis Mayfield/Patti Jo remake/cover she did of “Make me believe in you” THAT SONG IS JUST SO FIT FOR HER VOICE AND STYLE!!!

That’s a joke…Bee killed the sound with her wack lyrics and arrangements and imo this sound is more suited for Amerie than Bee (who obviously has the stronger voice). If anything most of the tracks on B’s album sound like leftovers of Amerie’s “Touch”.

You know someone is biting someone when they even create a track (Greenlight) with a DIFFERENT producer (Neptunes) and it sounds like Rich harrison and Amerie’s (1 Thing)…not to mention jackin the same vocal arrangements…once again who is jackin who?

I jsut heard this track on the radio! They were like new Amerie and played it 3 times back to back..I love it!!!!!!! It’s sooo cute yet energetic!

I can’t wait to hear this in the club…I agree with a critic she has that grit in her voice similiar to Michael Jackson sometimes and James Brown…but the female version I LOVE IT! I didn’t know this was the same girl who sung that 1 thing trippin song. I didnt like that much but this track is hot!

It’s sad cause Beyonce knew EXACTLY what she was doing to steal Amerie’s spot light. Look how quickly she came out with her Bday album, and her so called “new style”. If you listen to all of Amerie’s records before Bday, you clearly see Beyonce snatching her style….another example, the instrumental bands…now brain child Beyonce would have never dreamed that up. Also, Amerie was dancing Beyonce’s ‘new moves’ before she was. I had true respect for Beyonce, but if she can’t think up her own stuff she ain’t worth my support. She’s just trying to be another Diana Ross. Too intimidated to share the spot light. Amerie ain’t the best singer but she has a gift and need to know how to really really use it, and she could blow her out the water.

hmmm here’s something that really pisses me off, taking note from the amerie/ciara singing comments. alot of ppl think to be a singer you have to have a large vocal range, but no just because you can sing like whitney houston or mariah carey doesn’t certify you as a hit in the music industry. neither ciara nor amerie have the biggest vocal ranges, but it’s not all about the singing. it’s what the artist can bring to the plate, and what they do for listeners. besides, little voices can do those little variations with their voice i just love to hear. amerie and ciara both have pretty voices that have brought them both a LARGE fan base. i love both of them

another thing that bothers me. beyonce and amerie?? sure they sound similiar but if you switched them around and had beyonce sing amerie’s songs and vice versa, can you really compare these 2 like that?? that’s like with ciara and aaliyah. sure they have a similiar sound, but they take the others place. i don’t really know if you’ll get what i’m trying to say because i’m had trouble wording it, but hopefully you’ll get the point.

I have all of Amerie’s albums and I love them all. No she doesn’t have a super loud voice, but it’s melodic. Everyone doesn’t have to have a loud overpowering voice to prove that they can sing. This is why we are all different in more ways than one. Her songs are original, it’s her sound and the songs never sound like the same ole’ mainstream music and she sings about real things that we all can relate to. Keep doing your thing some people may not like it, but I love it. Love “Take Control” heard it and saw the video for the first time this morning and now I can’t wait for the new album.
