Man this track is dope, it might not be as commercial as “1 Thing” though it still is a powerful track. The guitar riffs are crazy & so is the intro! It just takes a little while to get used to but thats all. By the way, Amerie does have a beautiful soul voice, shes got that similar technique to James Brown & thats why I love her.

not really feeling this that much, the beat could use a little more umph and be a little faster, the arrangement of the chorus was good and the writing was good, just something about the music i wasn’t feeling and i am usually a fan of live instruments, it’s a throwback vibe i’m not really feeling.

really feelin this song

This song was sooooooooooo boring I fell asleep halfway through the first chorus. Her vocals are bland, the tempo is bland and there’s nothing here that makes me want to listen to it twice. It’s not even the type of joint that would “grow” on me, no matter how much it’s played.

Amerie is NOT a good singer in any respect. Her voice has a slightly unique tinge to it and that’s the only reason she has lasted this long in the game (album wise). It’s a mix of false vibratto and screeching cat. This is why “Why Don’t We Fall In Love” worked so well. And while I appreciate her style and the fact that she is trying to do something different musically by adding a lot of instrumentation, it simply doesn’t work on this track.

I do agree however that Beyonce completely sqagger jacked Amerie’s sound from her first and second album. There is NO denying that. hmmm here’s something that really pisses me off, taking note from the amerie/ciara singing comments. alot of ppl think to be a singer you have to have a large vocal range, but no just because you can sing like whitney houston or mariah carey doesn’t certify you as a hit in the music industry. neither ciara nor amerie have the biggest vocal ranges, but it’s not all about the singing. it’s what the artist can bring to the plate, and what they do for listeners. besides, little voices can do those little variations with their voice i just love to hear. amerie and ciara both have pretty voices that have brought them both a LARGE fan base. i love both of them

another thing that bothers me. beyonce and amerie?? sure they sound similiar but if you switched them around and had beyonce sing amerie’s songs and vice versa, can you really compare these 2 like that?? that’s like with ciara and aaliyah. sure they have a similiar sound, but they take the others place. i don’t really know if you’ll get what i’m trying to say because i’m had trouble wording it, but hopefully you’ll get the point.

Amerie is Amerie. Beyonce is Beyonce. How can the two be compared?

I have all of Amerie’s albums and I love them all. No she doesn’t have a super loud voice, but it’s melodic. Everyone doesn’t have to have a loud overpowering voice to prove that they can sing. This is why we are all different in more ways than one. Her songs are original, it’s her sound and the songs never sound like the same ole’ mainstream music and she sings about real things that we all can relate to. Keep doing your thing some people may not like it, but I love it. Love “Take Control” heard it and saw the video for the first time this morning and now I can’t wait for the new album.

When u think about it…beyonce stole ameriee’s singing style…beyonce never had songs like how she does now until after amerie was out n big…look at dangerously in love…that album structure n everything sounds nothing like b’day..that was her original style..n now she is trying to mock sum1 elses…also…actually…beyonce used amerie original producer 2 make crazy in love…cuz all true (who have the cd’s n look at the credits) amerie fans know rich harrison was amerie’s producer…he was brand new…never really worked with any1 b4 amerie and produced literally all her stuff. thas 4 those comparing b’day n amerie!
