TRINA LOVES THE KIDS!

October 9th, 2006

Trina held a photoshoot for her non-profit organization, Diamond Doll Foundation, in Miami on October 6, 2006. According to a bulletin from Trina’s Myspace, 15-20 girls were selected throughout the South Florida area to be part of the photoshoot. After the photoshoot, Trina sat down and spoke with the young ladies for about an hour about different things that she has experienced coming up in life and being in the industry. All girls will be involved in the foundation’s events from fundraisers to food drives.

Trina recently spoke about the foundation via her myspace page:

What inspired you to create the Diamond Doll Foundation?
TRINA:To me, the Diamond Doll Foundation is about being able to help young girls. Those girls in the inner city, who aren..t as privileged and girls that are kind of lost, those that don..t come from a great home or who don..t have older influential people in their lives to help them become great women. I travel a lot and I meet so many young girls and everyday life for them is a struggle. Everyday life for them is a different day of facing some sort of obstacle that they feel that can..t endure. It can be girls who get pregnant at early ages, girls that are on drugs, who have been abused emotionally and physically. My life is great, but I..ve been through a lot of different things that makes me have the strength that I have and to be able to give that back to girls that may be weak, who have low self-esteem or don..t have enough confidence, that I..m here for them. Trina is doing something positive you all don’t want to comment. I see that drama and gossip only motivate talk.

Best look I’ve seen for Trina in a long while.

We need to encourage young people to eat healthy and exercise more. Before y’all jump on me….the truth is the truth. we have a nation of overweight young people, especially girls. I’m all for embracing yourself as a thick girl if that weight it healthy for you. Being obese or even overweight at a young age ain’t cool. It just leads to severe health problems down the line.
It is nice to see celebs using their time for positive things so I do applaud that.

how hyprocritical. she needs to change her lyrics to suit her goal with these young girls. cuz she sure isnt practicing what she’s preaching

sure she’s tryin to help the community. but i find her lyrics and her OWN actions saying otherwise

man.. i swear, as black folk, or america in general.. our standard for a leader has lowered TREMEDOUSLY!!!

It’s nice what she’s doing but I do agree. Her lyrics are not for young women so it does seem hypocritcal. I also agree that we should try harder for our young women to eat healthy. Are these children or grown adults?

Celebrities giving back to the community is always a good thing. But when your music is explicit full of sex, and money it seems hypocritical when you are trying to endeavor on a good cause. I guess as far as music they going with what sells. But they still good at heart.

Is it me, or is the chic behind Trina with the blond hair, the chic on the front row far left and the chic in the middle row to the immediate left of Trina too damn old to be there? Hell, I actually thought the blond girl was Trina. I think she may be too late. They way these girls look, hell, they probably can teach Trina a thing or two.

I wonder what sort of advice she is giving those impressionable young girls. It’s good that she’s tryimg to make a difference and all, but you can listen to her musci and tell what she considers all good. I mean really, would you want your young daughter or sister listening to anything that comes out of Trina’s mouth?

IT’s ironic that (even though she has always been active in her community) after seeing her reach out people still have something to say….
The funny thing is Trina even says she has been through some ish and you dont just crawl out of it in like two seconds…. Its not about how she looks in the pic…or what her lyrics say..on her lyrics…her lyrics just like rappers that try to turn nigga into a positive she uses the word bitch(combined with baddest) to represent confidence..and may not work for you…but i captures the attention of the young girls….

TRINA…DO WHAT YOU DO……BC EVERYONE WILL ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY WHEN THEY’RE NOT DOING A DAMN THING TO GIVE BACK…

now people need to stop bashing her!! her music and her personal life are two dif things!! when ur grown and can make ur own decisions, u can say anything u want!! she says the things YOU wanna say but CAN’T!!

So no wonder grown ass women hate on jj so much, cause even teenagers aren’t really taking care of their bodies as much as they could…

@ #20, I applaud you because you took the words right out of my mouth.

I know d@mn well I would NEVER have my children looking up to someone like Trina. I don’t care how much community organizations she has created. She says “It can be girls who get pregnant at early ages, girls that are on drugs,….” Ok. What are your lyrics about? Trina is a fake.

Lyrics from her song 69 ways:

Yo, yo, uh Miss Trina Z3 Beamer
Open up my legs put your head in between em
Till I bust like lead from a heater…..
Positions that you’ve never even heard before
Twist around and ride a dick vertical, uh
Fine, looky here where the long dick niggas at?

She doesn’t rap about anything positive so why should I be saying “oh Trina that’s good.” NOT! If you ask me, she damn near promoting sex through her songs but she wants to help out the young pregnant girls though. Yeah right!

I hope I dont get an ‘internet beat down’ but the people who actually said “Yay, Trina” or..”I’m glad she’s giving back”.. must be ghetto as hell.

Trina is a Whore that perpetuates the ‘oversexed’/whorish black female sterotype
So, why the hell do you think she should be anyone’s role model?
Listen to her lyrics, they are socially irresponsible, sterotypical and bring black women DOWN. I HATE everything she stands for in her music.
She represents the EXACT opposite of what girls should become.
