John Legend’s 2nd single from his sophomore album, “Once Again” is the melodic “Heaven.” The video is pretty dope; I like how they are playing off of the song by using a church setting. I also dig the visuals of the women posed as 16th century art pieces. But doesn’t the setting look kinda like where Kanye filmed a couple of his videos at?

For all of you who want to know, the video was done in London, England and was directed by Hype Williams. Very different to what we’re used to from Mr Williams, but all the same its a great visual video and the women are beautiful.

I can see how some would view the video as being boring but I have to wonder what they expected to happen in a video set to this song. Rump shaking girls, a club scene, driving around in rented whips? I think the video fits the song well.

I know music well enough to know there is no melody present in “Ordinary People.” I’m aware that John Legend rips off “Stormy” by the Classic IV for “Save Room.”
John Legend, like Alicia Keys, are considered so good because everyone else is so bad by comparison. Neither are that skilled in songwriting or vocal delivery. Artistry isn’t jacking the melodies, lyrics, and cliches of past successes and packaging them for new audiences under the guise that it’s their brainchild.

He has the kind of music that you just listen to…like poetry. It’s calm and relaxing and it sends the message of love. Also he uses women in his videos tastefully…nothing degrading at all which makes me like John legend even more.

John Legend has said on many occasions that he sings songs with feeling if there is an imperfection in his voice he never throws it out because he wants it to be real. His music is not boring. I personally think that when you come out as hot as he did it usually very hard to top something like that but I think he did a good job with his new album you can tell just from listening to his voice that he has matured as an artist and singer. Usually you have to listen to an album more than once before you actually start to really feel the music. i have read everyone’s comments. i think that everyone has there right to an opinion. i disliked the first cd of jl. i thought that it was incredibly synthetic. i thought that the lyrical content was extremely boring and very juvenile. most people like synthetic music with juvenile lyrics so i’m sure that most people enjoyed listening to his cd. i was pleasantly suprised by his second effort. he sang songs about people being in love. he sang songs about people being happy. i’m sure that many of the people that don’t like jl’s cd aren’t very happy and couldn’t understand anything that he was talking about. he didn’t sing a single song about going to club or getting high.
