VIDEO: RICH BOY, “THROW SOME D’S”

I posted this song before and the majority of people here didn’t like it, but for those who did (my folks from the South!), Rich Boy has released a video for his new single, “Throw Some D’s.” The video features the song’s producer, Polow Da Don as well as singer/songwriter, Keri Hilson. Good to see my Atlanta people doing their thing!

    allllrighty then!1

  2. I hate to say this but…OK no I don’t…this shit is WACK! Rich Boy should change his name to Retarded Boy cause that’s how he looks.

    I like Polow’s flow.

  3. yea, mika, I dig polow’s flow as well. and he’s really turning himself into an a-list producer.

  4. He’s also a cutie. What other songs has he produced?…his name sounds familiar.

  5. DAMN, Fuck da Cadillac Nigga needs to buy a face left. How old is this sumamabitch that his hairline is receeding already. I like the song, video is nothing special. Its very low budget, i could have directed a much better video on my SideKick. Keri is looking fly as ever, i love her style and i hop she makes it wenever she decides to come out with an album.

  6. Face Lift… spelling mistake, apologies!!!!

  7. mika, polow’s latest productions include “blindfold me” by kelis, ciara’s new single, “promise,” “buttons” by the pussycat dolls, “london bridge” and “glamorous” by fergie. there are others, but those may be the ones you know already!

  8. I just threw some C’s on my car, caps-hubcaps!!!

  9. blackbarbie85

    J. lEWIS…DONT KILL ME BOUT HUBCAPS>LMFAO>>>BAHAAAAAAAA

  10. blackbarbie85

    I LIKE DA SONG THOUGH!!!
BUT IT SEEMS TO ME LIKE SOMEONE”S TRYING TO ACT A BIT T.I. “ish”

I saw this video debut on 106&Park, and they said that this guy is from Alabama. I’m from Alabama too, and there are lots of good rappers here. I’m just trying to figure out why they chose this one!! No wonder people think that we’re all ignorant and backward down here. This guy is lame as hell, has no flow and no point, and, worse of all, he has a damn 90′s haircut!!!!! *SMH*

  12. Tammy

I like the sound of the song but he’s not talking about anything so…whatever. Is it just me or does he look like a black version of “Timmeh!” from South Park?

  13. I don’t give a damn what people think…..this song is hott! Better than that chicken noodle crap, especially the Papoose remix to it.

I thought Rich Boy was from Alabama?

  14. TRUTH

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Tammy that is extremely funny!! Especially cuz its true!

  15. Auri

Rich Boy is from Alabama. My brother and his boys know him.Retarded or not he’s trying to make moves.
    @12
    I agree.

  16. The Truth

Another unoriginal rap song. Agree @ #12. It’s like when there is an accident on the news and they try to find the most ignorant black person to describe what happened. Its the image the media is trying to promote and sadly in rap today this is what a majority of them want to hear.

  17. I came across this video this weekend and after watching it, I was extremely sad. It’s the epitome of ignorance. Maybe I’m getting old…but I can’t listen to or watch crap like that anymore.

  18. Jason

I agree @ # 12. Rim shops and cadillac dealerships will never go out of business the way rap music keeps giving them free advertising – worst of all its aimed our young impressionable youth that have goals of throwing some “D’s” up on a car (never heard that term until watching this video) rather than more important things. Guess I’m getting too old to appreciate this type of music too. As you get older you know better.

  19. LOVE

I AM SO SICK OF THESE GHETTO PEOPLE GETTING DEALS. I THOUGHT AN ARTIST WAS SUPPOSE TO BE UNIQUE? YOU COULD BASICALLY GO AROUND THE WORLD TWICE AND FIND SOME PEOPLE WHO CAN DO THIS SAME OLD’ SHIT. I’M SICK OF THE LEAN WITH IT, ROCK WITH IT STUFF. CAN WE GET AN UPGRADE? DAMN!

I’m from Atlanta and trust me, I feel your pain. It seems like folks up top always shine a light on the dumbest folks from the south and then try to make it seem like we are all like that. Homeboy is absolutely awful, really.

  21. mshunnybee

Not felling this song or the video NEXT!!!!!!!!

  22. What rap songs are talking about much of shit these days??? All the hits deal with hoes, cars, and money over (usually) a really catchy beat. I like the song. NO, the lyrics aren’t profound, and he is rapping about “the same shit” as everybody else BUT….so what???

  23. Ra Ra

I actually like the song Im from alabama so wait a minute motha fucka lol j/k but yea yall shouldnt be dissing on that if you actually took the time out to listen to the song you would see that there talking about alot and but your not listing thats the problem with peole now a days a song has to talk about getting some or dancing in order for ya’ll to feel and thats just dumb.

  24. Ra Ra

oh yea he is form alabama

  25. @14…Megan: I agree, it is better than that chicken noodle bullshit. WTF?

  26. Island_Girl-Bri

LMAO #8…..Im having one of those moments where i been havin a song in rotation then when the video comes out im like Damn! Thats him?! I think he should be very close friends with the shades he was rockin at the beginning! I aint gon lie tho, i like this song; the beat is crazy!

  27. Damn dude got a head like Herman Munster!!! Notice how the camera doesn’t stay on his face for to long.

  28. Tan

Shout out to the Dirty South.I like the beat.I wish him the best.Anything is better that that Chicken Noodle Soup shit that should of came out on a kids cd or something.

  29. Anything is better than Chicken Noodle Soup. I’m from up top and nobody likes that shit except 10 year olds. Bottom line is this shit right here is wack.

DIRTY SOUTH ALL THE WAY (ALABAMA)

    MOBILE ALABAMA

  32. iight..another cars/money/bitches song..?

well..i liked tha beat :) keep doin ur thang rich boy!

  33. Gumptownchick

I’M FROM MONTGOMERY, AL. ALABAMA IS THE HOME OF THE COTTON PICKERS. PEOPLE R JUST MAD B/C THE SOUTH IS ON FIRE. DONT HATE, LIKE YOUNG BUCK SAID, ” THE SOUTH AINT GOTTA BE LYRICAL, NIGGAS DOWN HERE MAKING PAPER”

    lOVE ALL DOWN SOUTH RAPPERS

    THE SOUTH GOT A SWAG

  34. im a hiphop cat buh this shih is just that SHIT!! im not afan, and i think artists like this do a disservice to real artists out there. throw some d’s?? puhlease who cares wuh u put on ur car?? and that dudes face is fucked haha!! they cude show a movie on his forehead lol

(did like the first 32 secs of the vid though lol)

  35. South is on fire??? LOL! That’s all that matters right? Making paper? That’s why the majority of the southern rappers are fucking garbage…because of that mentality. You’re quoting Young Buck??? He said that shit because the south CAN’T be lyrical. I like G-Unit but he sucks ass.

I fucks with Weezy, Luda, Jeezy, Scarface, and T.I. The rest of them down south niggas are WACK!

  36. foxxy380

@ #12 & #22, I am watching the video and thinking the same thing. What people from the South sent her this video? They have alot of “good” rappers in the South that don’t get no shine on the mainstream what so ever. They stay putting out all this bull$hit making us look bad. I’m f^n sick of it! Now I am about to get bucked b/c this $hit don’t make no sense. I ain’t trying to knock Rich Boy hustle with his ugly a$$ but there are way better artist than him down here that only us in the South know about. They are the ones that need to be on mainstream so people like D4L, Young Jock, Mike Jones, Lil Flip can sit their a$$es down somewhere.

  37. foxxy380

^^my bad. I see no one from the south sent her this video.

  38. missgreen

He’s got a big ass forehead… I like the song, but the video is pretty basic.

  39. Peez

Leave it to females to grade a song by how the dude looks. Now everybody has different tastes so if it’s wack to you then so be it, but half of yall would love the song if you didn’t think dude looked like a monster. Hip-Hop is in a bad state and supporting artist on look’s and not talent is fa damn sho helping the situation.

  40. Tammy

I wouldn’t go as far as comparing this song to chicken noodle soup, I don’t personally like it but you are correct it’s for kids and to me it would be like comparing this song to old mcdonald, it might be annoying like nails on a chalkboard but it’s not sexually suggestive or perpetuates violence so if my nieces wanna do the dance by all means go ahead. What are these rappers supposed to rap about you ask? Anything other than this repetitive nonsense, stick a fork in it, it’s done! If you like it, well that’s you but you can’t blame other people for wanting more, wanting something of substance. All “Timmeh” jokes aside, he could be the ugliest dog faced person on the planet if his rhymes were “tight” people would not even be having the discussion of “is he wack or not…?”. I’ve noticed a lot of people saying that they give up on hip hop and seriously if people have to go back to listening to old skool rap to find lyrical fulfillment then you know something is severely wrong.

  41. this is trash (nothin against the south)

  42. Midwest Chica

This song is a classic southern rider…I’ve read the majority of the comments and it’s evident that the post are from northeasterners…We (da Midwest & South) grew up off this sounds so the shit bump in our cars and clubs…quit hating on the SOUTH…and who gives a damn how he looks…Jay-Z is ugly as hell but a good solid artist.

  43. Midwest Chica

But one last comment…just watched the video and where did the white chics come from…his ass is from Mobile, Alabama and white girls not in the hood like that…Interscope what an idea!

  44. amanda

It sounds like every other rap song that is out now. I have to say though that this song is catchy.

  45. wtf & lol @ the 2nd dude bein in the backseat with white girls

  46. WeMajor

Did he sample this song? Cuz it sounds familiar. If so, what was the original?

  47. WeMajor

Never mind, I figured it out

  48. meese

I’m not from the south but i really like this song… probably b/c i love Call Your Name by El Debarge. pretty creative to turn that into a rap song

I was born and raised in the south and I do not like this song not one bit!

  50. Lanee'

I like this song, actually. Sounds better in my i-Pod. :)

  51. MOBILE ALABAMA SAYS

    I SECOND THAT MIDWEST

  52. MOBILE ALABAMA SAYS

    @MIDWEST^

  53. Lanee'

I also hate when ppl take a lil’ video on BET so damn serious. You act as if 90% of rap out now is supposed to make sense anyway. It has a nice beat, you can dance to, he’s talking about cars, there’s not much to it.

  54. ChilliJ

#48 yes “I call your name” by El DeBarge and Switch
    LMAO at #8!!

  55. Paula

He needs to throw some D’s on that forehead and get it DECREASED!! That’s the biggest forehead ever!!

  56. CherishMe

He looks like he just got off the short bus!!

  57. tiffster

#37 Mika said “He said that shit because the south CAN’T be lyrical.”

But then you go on to mention the southern artists that you do like. What do you mean by that comment…?
Im a tad bit offended. Sounds like you’re just generalizing everyone in the south and THAT is ignorant.

Anywayz… I like the song. Nice Beat. He does have that throwback haircut though lol. Dont understand where the white chicks came from– they’re kinda random but whatever.

  58. #59 I don’t mean to offend you. I’m just voicing my opinion.

I feel that the majority of southern rappers are garbage and they suck lyrically…so they CAN’T be lyrical…with the exception of the ones I named.

Not saying that all rappers from up top are hot…it’s just that I constantly hear bullshit from down south.
