It seems like my girl Tori Alamaze just keeps getting done wrong. Remember a few weeks ago I posted the same story but with the Pussycat Dolls? It seems as though the Cee-Lo written and produced “Take Control,” which is slated to be Amerie’s first single, with “That’s What U Are” as a B-Side was recorded first by Miss Alamaze. Tori hit me up and told me to check out her MySpace page and listen to the song “Control.” Much to my surprise, it is the same song, with little-to-no differences. Let me know what you guys think…

This is the second time that this has happened with Cee-Lo. I know Amerie is signed to a major label, but what’s really going on? As I said in the “Don’tcha” post, peep your boy Cee-Lo all over the background vocals!
1st … just one thing, Amerie’s version sounds better. Song is hmmm OK.

Yeah the PCD story is old but I didn’t know cee-lo gave this away too. Obviously she isn’t doing something to these tracks if he keeps giving them away. IMO the song sucks period and I don’t know why Amerie is releasing it as a 1st single. Ameries’ is better though.
At first I felt bad for Tori but then I listened to both songs (which sound like Micheal Jackson’s Wanna Be Starting Something) then I realized Cee Lo did her a favor because the song sucks anyway.

Wow. The song sucks balls, then you put two singers with sub par voices on it and make it even worse. Neither of them sang it better. Both versions make me wanna rip out my cochleas.
I like Amerie’s better. Her tone sound better for the song. Maybe cuz she’s known a little more than Tori.

Amerie does it better because she had a better vibe with it and Tori sounds like shes depressed when shes singing it. And for ya’ll Amerie’s “Touch” went Platinum, and “1 Thing” went platinum too.

i think it is a very unfortunate experience for independant artist who are linked with critically acclaimed artist such as the tori and cee-lo relationship because there are two sides. there’s the side where you have an aspiring artist who needs these records to “get on”, but may not have what the “industry” requires to gain the attention needed to exploit their talent the way the “industry” does, and then there is the established artist who’s penmanship is respected so that his songs can be accepted and exploited by any artist, and as a result of the need to “eat” has to put himself in a business making decision which may, due to his loyalty to his unsigned artist, put his company in a better place financially or what have you to continue supporting his artist. this can continue to hold back the artist to a point where they need to make a decision………the song is hot. it fits them both because tori’s key fits her vibe, and amerie key fits hers. i cant compare because of the key change. I am a fan of both. tori definantly needs to be heard. one thing that cee-lo should consider to help his artist is giving her a percentage of the publishing for every song she demos that is given away. that way from its comercial exploitation, even tori can be compensated for the loss.

I’m a fan of both Tori and Amerie. I like Tori’s version of Don’t Cha and Control. I like the production better on Amerie’s version. Amerie sounds ok however her voice is not as strong as Tori’s. Tori is a wonderful artist with a great voice and image. This is an unfortunate situation for an independent artist. Unfortunately this is “BIG BUSINESS” and record companies are not concern with “TALENT” these days. With Don’t Cha Tori generated the BUZZ behind the song. The song was in heavy rotation in LA prior to the PCD. Had the record company shot a video for her, the song would have received the same response the PCD received. The record label flooded the market w/ Don’t Cha. Both songs were created with “Tori Alamaze” as an artist in mind. She should defiantly receive some compensation for both songs. Basically it’s like an architect who designs a building and the construction company taking credit for the design. The construction company simply followed what was already laid out for them.

Amerie’s very is far more superior than that trash Tori put out. Tori’s version has no chorus. Amerie took the ugly duckling and made it a swan. And she is probably getting co-production credit on it because the beat did change quite a bit. It’s a completely different tempo now which probably had everything to do with the way Amerie changed the lyrics.
Yeah, whatever she keeps getting her songs taken away from her, but so what? She didn’t write them. She just sang them. Amerie took whatever you want to call that she did and turned it into a song. Instead of her hitting you up she should be trying to figure out how to get her downtrodden career back up. Thanks.

#5 Is a damn lie. I have met Amerie in person four times and I have seen atleast like seven of her interviews and she has never came off as fake or concieted. She does come off as confident and EDUCATED..is that a problem??
If you want nasty or conceited I can name a few but Amerie is definitely not one of them.
As for the single didnt like it bvut it grew on me and sounds great on the stereo. Tori has an aight voice but it sounds boring and drawn out.

Um Amerie did a mnuch better job on this track. Amerie made this song HOTT!!! She changed up the chorus and some of the lyrics and changed the key of the song and everything. She did a much better job and she put harmonies and background vocals into the song.
And to number 5 and number 34, Amerie is not a fake or conceited lady. She is VERY EDUCATED she graduated from college with a BACHELORS degree. And to the bitch that said that Amerie cant sing, thats a lie. I have both of her cds and she can sing her ass off!!!
