The following two women have two things in common. They are both singers and they were both battered by the same man, a professional athlete. One of the women is a solo singer, the other woman sings in a group. At her peak, the solo singer was attracted to this “pretty boy” sports star who has a awesome physique.
She had no idea that he was abusive, he had never been in trouble with the law and his few endorsements were in tact. They began dating, the abuse started midway into the relationship and it was always unprovoked. He started off with pushes, slaps and then punches.
She had to back out of a several shows, because her bruises hadn’t healed up. She lost out on-much needed money. They would eventually breakup and he would hunt for his next victim.
He found her, she sung in a group and he met her backstage. They began dating, the first time he pushed her into the wall and punched her in the face, she bolted and he hasn’t seen her since.
Hint #1: The woman who sings in the group is ‘NOT’ Kelly Rowland. Hint #2: The abuser keeps a low profile but is well known among sports fans.

He dated Toni Braxton for a while (Item says she needed the money, this was around the time she went Bankrupt) then he dated Michele Williams (Destiny’s Child – that’s why the Kelly Rowland’s name was thrown in there) for a quick minute, if you blinked you missed it. This may be the only blind Item I have a good chance of getting right. I think the abuser may be Curtis Martin from the New York Jets. He was once linked to Toni Braxton, (the first singer) and was recently linked to (Michelle Williams) from Destiny’s Child. He may be abusive since his carreer is now over because of injury.
#23 beat me to it…because I knew the lead singer had to be Toni Braxton because I knew once upon a time that she had cancelled performances earlier in her career for unknown reasons, and basically that guy was the subject for a lot of her sadder songs on her sophomore LP right before she hooked up with her husband in 1997. I remember too that he was also linked to DC-member Michelle Williams.

1) Toni Braxton also dated Jason Kidd, and we all know he is an abuser and a wife beater. Jason Kidd is a pretty boy, although I’m not attracted to him. I don’t know if he dated any other singers or how long he and Toni were togeher, but I know it wasn’t long.
2) Then there is Derek Jeter who dated Mariah Carey during the height of her career before she came crashing down. He fits the pretty boy profile, and yes he does have a nice body. He’s also been linked to almost every other bi-racial, mulatto woman in the industry.

It’s a touchy thing to get involved with, because outsiders try to respect a person’s marriage, and if the wife won’t leave the man that is beating her, then there not to much you can do….
My brother in law was knocking my sister around and one point, and I wanted to cut him real bad..My father told me not to get invloved cause that was married people business, and she would end up forgiving him and getting mad at me…

It’ so sad that domestic violence exists but it does, I actually have a friend who is with this guy that pushes her around, a lot. He has never punched her
(not to my knowledge) but he has been known to beat his baby’s moms and hit his mother and assault a girl with a beer bottle, but she is addicted to him and refuses to leave, and i don’t want to have to see her in a body bag, and you know what sucks she is 6 months pregnant with his child!
