The following two women have two things in common. They are both singers and they were both battered by the same man, a professional athlete. One of the women is a solo singer, the other woman sings in a group. At her peak, the solo singer was attracted to this “pretty boy” sports star who has a awesome physique.
She had no idea that he was abusive, he had never been in trouble with the law and his few endorsements were in tact. They began dating, the abuse started midway into the relationship and it was always unprovoked. He started off with pushes, slaps and then punches.
She had to back out of a several shows, because her bruises hadn’t healed up. She lost out on-much needed money. They would eventually breakup and he would hunt for his next victim.
He found her, she sung in a group and he met her backstage. They began dating, the first time he pushed her into the wall and punched her in the face, she bolted and he hasn’t seen her since.
Hint #1: The woman who sings in the group is ‘NOT’ Kelly Rowland. Hint #2: The abuser keeps a low profile but is well known among sports fans.

“Dont focus on the women being dumb, focus on solutions”, ironic isn’t it? You are DUMB if you DON’T find a solution. Tom Joyner recently aired a full morning show discussing this topic. And as early as it was (5am) I was getting so heated listening to these women’s situations. Don’t get me wrong, I am not cold-blood, it also hurt me when they described literally being tortured at the hands of their “man”.
This is your life! More than a push, slap, what happens when he pulls a gun and in his anger, pulls that trigger? What about your kids, your family? These women should think more about the people who TRULY, UNCONDITIONALLY love them instead of the person who claims to love them after administering blows to the head.
What about the women who get abused, call the police, then drop the charges? Why call the police if you are gonna let yourself get manipulated over and over again? You can be scarred for life, emotionally and physically, if you don’t use the good sense God gave you.

Oh, my Lord, I actually know the answer to one…it is definitely Toni, Curtis and Michelle from DC. Remember, he was in the vid from her 2nd album, and then they started dating. Then, she went broke and started talking about an abusive relationship. I heard about him and Michelle, and anyone that has DC’s last album can remember the song “Girl”, about friends intervening in another friend’s abusive reltionship (Kelly was the abused girl in the video, but she is also the aspiring actress in the group). Just something to think about…I know i’m right, though.

You see, the abuser’s satisfaction is derived more from his ability to manipulate her thoughts and behavior, more so than the actual physical pain that he’s causing.
