I’ve heard Ciara mention several times that she looked up to Aaliyah and admired her, so if she is trying to emulate her in some way, I say it is a fitting tribute. I actually think Aaliyah would be proud. Ciara seems to be an honorable young lady with her head on straight, so more power to her!

I loved Aaliyah, but for goodness sakes, I can’t see any resemblance between her and Ciara for the life of me. It seems that any young, black R&B singer who rocks long, straight hair and happens to be brighter skinned will be compared to Aaliyah (RIP).

I can see a comparison to Janet Jackson just cause their styles are so similar (dancing, vocals, etc.), but Aaliyah? Nah. If Ciara keeps it up, though, she has a long career ahead of her because someone who can ENTERTAIN you will go further than someone who can sort of sing, but has a boring stage presence any day.

Although aaliyah was a great dancer, she did simple and fluid moves while ciara does hard and complacated moves.

One of the reasons why Ciara will never be like Aaliyah is because she keeps picking the wrong producers to showcase the talent she has.

Aaliyah had Timbaland on her last two CDs and everyone loved how they made great music together.

Ciara picked some plucky people to work with on this album and seems all drowned out with samples and such.

Ciara should get with one single producing group that she feels the most comfortable with so she can really pull out the true potential that she posesses.

The album is pretty good. C.R.U.S.H, Promise, My Love and Can’t Leave Em are my favorite tracks. I like the bass music influence that style of music fits Ciara. She reminds me of Aaliyah n Janet sumtimes but I think she kind of can’t help that considering she grew up probably seeing them on tv and listening 2 their music. The same way Michael Jackson & Prince are clearly influenced by James Brown & Little Richard. Every musician is influenced by other musicians sumhow you can’t fault her for that. I don’t think shes a biter or a swagger jacker she’s just evolving and trying to find herself. She’s gonna b the Janet or Aaliyah 2 a new generation of fans and eventually sum1 will follow in Ciara’s footsteps.

i think ciara is a good dancer and i would love to meet her one day in person.

Artists get compared to other artists all the time and most of the time its taken as a compliment. Sometimes the comparison is ridiculous and should not be, but i think Ciara is talented. She can dance her butt off and her voice is pretty. It ain’t no Beyonce but that’s what makes everyone different and special in their own way.
