Diddy and his girlfriend Kim Porter are covering the new issue of Essence Magazine, in the article Diddy talks candidly about his relationship with Kim and why he is not ready to marry her.
People.com has an exclusive snippet of the article:
“I know she deserves to get married,” Diddy, 37, tells Essence magazine in its December issue, “but I’m just not ready.”
He explains, “It’s not a reflection on how much I love Kim. It’s that I’m just learning how to be a good boyfriend. When I’m finished with this step, I’ll move on to the next.
When he and Porter first met in the nineties, “She kind of made me nervous,” Combs says. “She wasn’t like a New York girl. She was Bohemian, mixed with Georgia-peach hospitality. I got the idea she’d like doing stuff like walking barefoot in the grass. I didn’t think I could get her to like me.”
He was also intimidated by her reserve. “She was smooth, you know, like ice. She’s cool and collected and thinks before she speaks. You meet a lot of young ladies, and they just don’t do that. Kim was never pressed; she was always in control.”

That relationship wasn’t real. The world just saw the bright lights and the camera. But I knew what was really going on. He was still in love with me.She adds, “People just believed everything they saw in print, and they were talking to me like I was really crushed. But I had just had a baby. Puffy is damn near committing financial SUICIDE. At this point, it doesn’t matter whether he marries Kim or not. This is so sad to me. This is a big example why so many black families are so disfunctional. I was one of the lucky ones to grow up with both parents in the home, and not that it makes you a better person, but it definitley makes you more of a grounded person. i know this because many of my friends had single parent households and they talk to me a lot about wishing they had the balance of “Mom and Dad”. I feel sorry for the children. They probably have wonderful parents but the example being set for those boys is not a good one. Marriage is a sacred. Kim may love him and he may love her….that’s not for any of us to judge, but having two more children by someone who doesn’t even feel your worthy to commit to at this point in his life was a big mistake on her part. That comment he made should be a huge lesson for women out there thinking you can keep someone by baring their child….your just making things harder on yourself. I know Puff got money and businesses. Nobody is disputing that, but money is NOT infinite. I’m sorry, but Diddy does not have Bill Gates kinda money. A multi-millionaire like Diddy CAN go broke if he doesn’t manage his money. The assumption that his companies will always be as successful as they are today could be flawed. I don’t wish the man ill-will, but tossing around tens of thousands of dollars a month cannot be financially healthy.
If Kim leaves him, he will still have to pay that support AND maintain his personal lifestyle. It’s definitely none of my business, but I’m just saying money don’t grow on trees…just ask M.C. Hammer or Mike Tyson how fast a $30 Million bank account can dissappear. It might take Diddy a few more years to run through his, but it is very much possible if he isn’t careful.

As far as the kids since neither wanted to wait before marriage she got knocked up and those types of things happen every day.. Not to condone it but it does..
