Comparing Letoya vs Beyonce to Jennifer vs Beyonce is comparing apples to oranges. Letoya’s vocals pales in comparison to Beyonce’s–there is no competition there. Beyonce is more talented and enjoyable to watch than Letoya.

However, Jennifer vs Beyonce is another story. Vocally, Jennifer is far superior to Beyonce. It’s seems as if it is this fact that you find hard to swallow. I hate to break it to you but beyonce is not the gold standard when it comes to entertainment. That girl “tiffany” in Diary of a mad black woman has better vocals than beyonce.

I will give it to beyonce though, she is a package deal. She is beautiful, she is a medicore singer and actress, she has a fashion line which is quite successful, she has the support of her parents, she is dating a famous rapper, she is loved all over the world. That is awesome!

But that was the season where that VOTING MISHAP occurred & half of her towns VOTES were not even calculated the NIGHT she was VOTED off.FANTASIA WON that season, I remember being afraid the VOTING MISHAP would happen again leaving FANTASIA in the same seat as J.HUDSON.

I’m not sure if B’Day is Platinum yet.

Actually Dream girls is $25 dollars for the premier tickekts. It starts December 15th. I have tickets to take my little sister at the Zigfield Theater in NY. When it opens on the 25th it will be regular price.

For $25 you get reserved seating and a chance to buy the CD before it comes out. They will have tee shirts and other items you can buy about the movie. Also some “keepsakes” they give you for free.

Is it worth $25 to me? No but my sister really wants to go. So it’s one of her xmas presents.

Too expensive regardless. They are 20.00 per seat where I live so, maybe you get a 5 dolloar discount in “THE HOOD”…reserved seats or not– it’s not like it is a LIVE BROADWAY PLAY.

I think it would make as much PROFIT if not MORE had they left the price at the original $10.00 per head. Just because you charge more does not necessarily mean you make more. I think that reserved seating stuff will get complicated & cause major problems in “some theatres” as well as confusion. I like to sit “MID WAY” (not too close or too far back)–I have to pay 20 bucks for a reserved seat that may be WAAAAAAAY up in the FRONT!

FYI…RIAA does not provide accurate numbers. For true sales figures, you need to know what B’Day sold via Soundscan, which tracks actual sales.

I’ve seen the movie already. It’s great because of the combined black talent and the fact that it told a great story….

Beyonce is good, but it’s definitely Jennifer Hudson’s coming out party. She’s fantastic.

But let’s face it, Beyonce is the draw along with Eddie and Jamie….no one would give a damn about Jennifer Hudson. Maybe AFTER seeing the movie, but she couldn’t have drawn folks to it beforehand, thus the emphasis on an established star.

I am so happy for Jennifer Hudson. She was eliminated much too soon from Idol (I ain’t saying anything new). It seems like Idol did her a big favor. She is starring with Eddie, Jamie. Wow, that’s big. Some stars haven’t even had that opportunity.

Exactly. Shipped means sent to the store. I could send a CD to the dam store and say I was Platinum. Because they sent that many does not mean she sold that many. And a number on the Billboard chart does not certify any body. Yes they are waiting for the end of the year. To see how many were sold, how many were returned, and how many are STILL IN THE DAM STORE! LMAO

Since RIAA is the ONLY one that can certify a CD (and she is not) that is the one we need to be looking at.

MTV, VH1, and many other North American cable music channels use Nielsen SoundScan data as well.it actaully tracks sales data from the cash regsiter,from various retail, mass merchant, and non-retail (online stores) outlets in Canada and the U.S.The Recording Industry Association of America also tracks sales (or more accurately, shipments less potential returns) on a long-term basis through the RIAA certification system; it has never used either Nielsen SoundScan or the store-calling method
In comparison, RIAA’s system is a 100% sample of shipments, but does not track actual sales in real-time as Nielsen SoundScan does.Contrary to popular belief, Nielsen SoundScan figures are not used in RIAA certification; the RIAA system predates Nielsen SoundScan and includes sales outlets Nielsen misses.
