I did read that Cheral Lee Ralph in not impressed with Beyonce. She doesn’t think she can do the role justice. She also said that the orininator of the play is disappointed in the choice of Beyonce becasue they didn’t want a light skin black for the part. (I don’t agree with that)

Dianna Ross is also said she doesn’t want Beyonce playing a chater that could be or not be her.

I don’t think anyone from the original cast of Dream girls likes the idea of how they are portraying movie. (I know D. Ross was not in the movie) Hollywood put it’s own twist on the movie. Money talks and thats all they are concerned about.

I usually don’t comment, but there are just a few things that I would like to point out, and I think I can cuz I’m totally impartial:

Beyonce is a stunning young woman with a good singing voice, but all this talk about light and darkskinned is setting us back to slave days. Accept it: some of our ancestors got raped or wanted a baby with “good hair” and light skin, so we all look different. I personally go by the smoothness of skin, and Beyonce’s skin looks flawless. I also like the fact that she keeps her love life personal. It is none of our business.

We will never know how she really is cuz that’s how her parents want. All this speculation is just generating more sales for her. By the way, NOT a stan, didn’t buy the CD, wont buy it.

That said, the girl talks like she should be picking cotton. Mama Tina needs to get her a diction coach STAT! And maybe she should have finished high school.

Jennifer Hudson is cute and talented, and I’m sure she will be a star after this.

I have heard JENNIFER HOLIDAYS original version of the song: “AND I AM TELLING YOU”. & I think that NO ONE will EVER be able to COPY her SOUL-FUL, BREATH TAKING, “UNIQUE” version of that particular song. With that said, I feel that she has nothing to worry about as far as J.HUDSON, & if anything she feel HONORED anyone would “try” & DUPLICATE her singing style in any way.

I think it was absolutely WRONG for the producers to not let MEMBERS of the original CAST of the MUSICAL not participate on set fot this project as well (if that is indeed the case) as far as suggestions, input, or comment. I just heard the J.HUDSON 5 minute full length version RECORDING of the song “AND I AM TELLING YOU” made FAMOUS by the LEGENDARY “JENNIFER HOLIDAY”.

Listen, everyone seems to always want to jump on the Beyonce’s bandwagon like she is just this “Miss Do No Wrong” princess. Even if she did say this movie is not about her character, there hasinformation posted on other sites that she and her parents snubbed Jennifer Hudson on Oprah. And according to that information, it all has to do with this new found recognition and celebration of the talents of Miss Hudson. So it’s not about people making things up in that regard. If we simply take just a short trip down memory lane to when Letoya Luckett and Latavia Roberson left Destiny’s Child, oh I forgot, were kicked out of the group because they no longer wanted Daddy Knowles to control their interests in group, the info on how Miss Hudson was treated by them is not far fetched. See it was politically correct when the remaining members of DC (Michelle, Kelly & Beyonce) told the world that they mutually decided to break up. Anyone who followed the group from when the first came out, could clearly see that Beyonce was promoted above the other girls. And I guess that’s the benefits of having Mommy & Daddy Knowles running things behind the scene. It was not about fairness, if so, Letoya & Latavia would never have left. Farrah Franklin, who came in as a replacement with Michelle Williams left very quickly as well. More than likely, she saw what Letoya & Latavia saw and was probably let go the way they were. Shortly after we didn’t her anymore, Beyonce said in a group interview on MTV that Farrah wasn’t feeling well and could not be with group on this particular day. A clear lie that was told. Truth be told, she was already out of the group. Then it wasn’t even a week later before Bey announced in another group appearance on MTV, that it was a business decision by the “group” so-called, that Farrah would no longer be a part of the group and they would move forward as a three member group. Michelle Williams was savior to this group. I read comment after comment of people criticizing her on this site no what it is about her, but had it not been for her, DC could have ended a long ago after other girls left. So you see with all of the “goings on” in the Destiny’s Child history book, I still contend that the group ended because Bey’s star shines brighter than Kelly’s and Michelle’s. She got where she needed to get via the shoulders of the other girls (old and new) in the group, she didn’t need them anymore. I mean look at their solo careers. Kelly’s album only went GOLD (mainly due to her duo with Nelly at the time). Her album was poorly promoted by Daddy Knowles and staff. Similarly Michelle’s two gospel albums were all but noticed due to that same lack of promotion by Daddy Knowles & staff. And just earlier this year, it was reported that Kelly was working on her album to be out this year at some point, but miraculously got pushed back for release some time in 2007. Wow, we wonder why? The Knowles clan didn’t want any competition to Bey’s album that’s why. Therefore, it’s not about creating this Jennifer vs. Beyonce thing, it only about stating the obvious. In one or two of the promotion photos for the movie, there’s a shot of Bey and Jennifer on either side of Jamie Foxx…..all I need to say about that is this: if looks could kill, then Jennifer would be lying on the floor in a puddle of blood from the stare she was getting from Bey Knowles. I personally feel that both ladies are very talented, so there’s room for all. Only difference is, Jennifer seems geniunely graceful. She doesn’t come off as fake. This is what people are seeing in her and it comes out in her performance. She doesn’t have to be a diva about hers. So I repeat once again, all of this information circulating about the KNOWLES clan is not so far fetched. I digress.

I understand that the movie stars Beyonce, and it seems that the studio is banking on Jennifer. What’s going on with Anika. She completes the trio, that is called DREAMGIRLS

First of all, I just wanna say that I am really looking forward to seeing the movie and I am happy that Jennifer Hudson is finally getting her just due. This movie is not all about the constantly glorified Beyonce. After the hype over this movie dies down and the Oscars are over, I would really like to see Beyonce take a long, long break, even though it is probably wishful thinking on my part. Both she and her llama need to sit their overrated, overexposed, greedy tails down somewhere before Sister Fate sits them down. They are so busy trying to do everything that hasn’t been done before and trying to be everywhere at the same time and it is just pathetic. They both act like they think they are God. You can call me a hater or whatever, but I really do not care. They need to sit down.

Beyonce is the “draw,” the other girls do not have the level of her celebrity to bring the crowd to the movie. I am not a “stan” but the facts are clear, they had to cast “a well-known”…and I know she can’t act, I have seen all of her movies!

Beyonce got a acting coach, so she should be better.

I just saw the trailer for Will Smith’s new movie, it does look really good! Atleast it is not fictional like this movie all these people are arguing over!

I hate to say it, but i’m more interested in seeing Will’s new movie this x-mas. Dreamgirls just seems like Hollywood is trying “whiten” it up. It seems like a big waste to me if all young people go by this movie instead of the ORIGINAL play, it would really be sad.

As far as all the beyonce issues, She is BAIT for all the people who only go see movies because their favorite singer/rapper is in it. I tyr to give every artist to show their true talent in acting, but she has had plenty of tries and I am not impressed with her acting.

what you’re all forgetting is…Effie is suppose to outshine Deena. no, beyonce isnt going to get as much recognition for the role of Deena… not because she didnt do an amazing job…. but because Jennifer’s character has more depth and more pain. “Dreamgirls” is ALL ABOUT EFFIE. Deena was NEVER the STAR of “Dreamgirls” but she is still the leading lady. thats just how it was written.

so dont put Beyonce down like she’s being overshadowed because she wasnt talented enough. that isnt true.

the way i see it is… people are hoping that if JHud gets all the glory you wont have to see Beyonce anymore and you’re so wrong. she’s not going anywhere lol. she’s a competitor.. if she comes in second its only gonna make her work harder to be number one.

at the end of the day jennifer still has a lot of work to do before she reaches beyonce’s level of superstardom. and you havent even seen the movie to critique her acting skills.

its extremely hard for anyone to reach beyonce’s status.. and its upsetting that black people {especially black women} have a difficult time praising other black women for their success.

im no beyonce “stan” but it seems a lot of people are throwing out that word to hide their own envy or insecurities. i notice that people who dislike beyonce are always quick to respond to a post with her in it.

beyonce isnt perfect. she cant always look the best, act the best, sing the best, or dance the best because shes human. you preach this to her “stans” but you cant go a day without nit-picking at every little thing she does.

that makes you full of hypocrisy.. because how is it ok for you to dislike everything she does.. but its not ok for someone to love everything she does? people have opinions. its true that some people think she can do no wrong but its really not your place to change their opinion. its like some of you hope she fails or falls from the top. i would never wish for her to fail at anything.

there are 5 incredibly talented black people all working together and all you guys want to do is drown yourself in the [illeged] drama.

i mean im not surprised… but its a damn shame.
