KRAMER APOLOGIZES ON THE LATE SHOW

Tuesday, November 21, 2006

Michael Richards aka Kramer talked with David Letterman (via satellite) yesterday to try and clean up his now fucked up image. Of course he delivered a weak-ass apology and talked about how he lost his temper or some shit. Sorry homie, your true colors came out that night.

And why is that audience laughing so much? This is far from funny.

IM GLAD YOU POSTED THIS CUS I GOT ALOT TO SAY!

DID ANYONE ELSE ACTUALLY HEAR THIS APOLOGY? BECAUSE IT WAS DISHEARTENING TO HEAR PEOPLE IN THE AUDIENCE LAUGHING AS HE EXPLAINED THE WAY HE WENT OFF ON THOSE “AFRO-AMERICANS.” IT WAS ALSO DISHEARTENING THAT DAVID WOULD ASK IF KKKRAMER WAS BEIN HECKLED OR IF THEY WERE TALKIN AND DISTURBING THE SHOW…YEAH BECAUSE EITHER ONE WOULD JUSTIFY CALLIN THEM NIGGERS. STFU LETTERMAN!

THAT APOLOGY IS A BUNCH OF DAMAGE CONTROL BULLSHIT. IT’S ONE THING TO CALL THEM NIGGERS BUT TO SAY 50 YEARS AGO, THEY WOULD BE HANGING….THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT. THAT IS COMPLETE AND UTTER RACISM. YOU DON’T GET MAD AND SAY SOME SHIT LIKE THAT. YOU HAVE TO FEEL THAT DEEP DOWN BEFORE YOU SAY THAT TYPE OF SHIT.

AND HE’S MAKING THIS APOLOGY TO THE WRONG DAMN AUDIENCE. THE AVERAGE VIEWER OF DAVID LETTERMAN IS A MIDDLE AGED WHITE PERSON. SO WHO WAS HE REALLY APOLOGIZING TO? SEEMS TO ME HE WAS LOOKIN FOR BACKUP. BITCH PLEASE!

I was browsing through the channel guide last night looking for something interesting to watch, and I saw that Jerry Seinfeld was gonna be on David Letterman…how ironic and coincidental is that? Seinfeld just “happened” to be a guest on the show on the day that Kramer made headlines for the “nigger” situation at the comedy club.

So I knew immediately that Letterman was gonna ask Seinfeld how he felt about the situation, so I decided to watch it. And indeed, Letterman immediately asked Seinfeld about it, and Seinfeld said he was very upset about it..then he said he called Kramer and asked him to make an appearance on the show last night to clear this thing up.

Kramer didn’t even know what to say. He was stumbling over every word that came out of his mouth. I have never heard him stutter like that before. He had soooo much to say at the comedy club, but he was at a loss for words on Letterman’s show. He sounded like an ignorant asshole last night. Couldn’t even get his response together. Fuck his apology..he know he meant that shit…he’s just pissed that his ass was the top story all day yesterday…fuck him. He gets no love from me.

I think the Letterman audience members were laughing because they know that Kramer is a joke and now this fool is trying to backtrack yeahhhh right. They knew he didn’t mean the apology, I mean hell he really couldn’t answer Letterman’s questions head on. And why is dude interviewing via Satellite while his ass is right there in LA, it’s not like he is working right now. His ass could have come to the show and answered those questions in person, but he don’t know what to say because he meant what he said. It is what it is. I feel as though deep down Kramer has always felt this way about blacks, the other night was just the night that it surfaced.

Michael Richards apologized. In my opinion he sounded very, very sincere on the Letterman clip from last night. We need to forgive him and move on; he’s an actor/comedian. I’d be really pissed off if he was a Congressman or Senator or some other person of power. Haven’t a lot of us said highly flamable racist or offensive things (maybe not on some comedy stage)? We need to forgive this guy and move on. If this guy decides to run for Congress one day; that’s when we should revisit this video and what he said the other night.

Whatever, Kramer’s a racist bastard. He can kiss my entire black ass! How you gone say you’re not racist! When you get mad, that’s called honesty, cause that’s when all the true feelings come out, any other time, we’re composed and we polish up and sugar coat what comes out of our mouths. If he wasn’t racist, then there’s no way he would have, or could have, said the things he said, unless they were already rooted within him. Sad to say, when people are mad, and they yell out shit, that’s when true feelings come to the fore.

It’s weird how when the guy on Grey’s anatomy made a reference to call his co-worker out by calling him gay, everybody was calling for his resignation! The shit was even on CNN! I couldn’t believe it.

Now this blatant racist bastard straight up said the “n” word countless times, and made references to hangings and things of that sort, and yet, he’s goes to work the next day like the shit just didn’t happen. And no one seems all that alarm, and i havent heard that he’s banned from that club either! Fuckin hypocrites. I don’t hear people saying he should quit or be fired! All i hear is excuses being made for his racist ass!

That’s why i urge people on concreteloop to be slow to judge people like kanye west and the guy on grey’s anatomy cause they take so much bullshit everyday, and when they do get mad and blow up, the world (sadly, including us blacks) act like they done committed a fuckin cardinal sin! I just remember the comments on here when both those incidents occured, and my reaction at the time was “so fuckin what!” Yet, alot of blacks on here seemed to truly be offended. I fall back when they have their tirads because white people say shit all day, everyday, and have tandrums, and excuses are made for their behavior. But when black people get mad, it’s like they should just go off somewhere and die! Bullshit!

This dumb cracker needs to be lynched! And to think the only character on Seinfeld that Black people could stomach was Kramer…and he’s on some mess like this?! I would love for his car to break down in South Central L.A. - we’ll see who has a fork up their ass! Stupid bastard! So what if people didn’t find his lame ass jokes funny…you can’t run into a wall on stage (like he did so often on Seinfeld), to get a laugh, you better have some raw talent when you talk about getting up there and doing stand-up. Need to sit his lame ass down somewhere! No apology is sufficient, because I don’t believe he’s sorry…I think he’s fearing the consequences.

Kramer, if you’re not a racist then slavery never happened. That is why it is good to be a Muslim right now. If he had said some derogatory shit to a Muslim, they’d be plotting how to kill him right now. Or putting up reward for someone to kill him. Killing him would not be too extreme either. You know how many Blacks died behind that name? But Black folks just take in on the chin. I am still waiting for prominent blacks calling for his head.

His apology was not sincere and all the stumbling over his words just showed that he didn’t know how to apoologize for something that he meant to say. When you do something wrong and you are genuinely sorry you know how to say sorry without stumbling over your words. I was upset that he brought up the whole Katrina situation and when he kept referring to black people as afro-americans. His whole apology made no sense whatsoever. The fact still remains that he is racist and he meant what he said.

@ #9 Ne-Ho For Ne-Yo

Co-Sign.

It appears to me that the only effective way for him to make his apology would be to do so in a strictly black forum. Let him book his ass on the Tavis Smiley Show and face the music for 60 minutes and take some g_ddamn phones calls. Hell, I’d even accept a Larry King Live appearance, which is probably his next step, anyway.

With regard to the acceptance of his apology, I was willing to cut him some slack as I turned this situation towards myself and was thinking, you know I DO have my PREJUDICES, which I think are quite different from thinking that other races are inferior to mine. Perhaps that was where MR’s rants surfaced. But upon closer inspection, we cannot ignore the statement MR made that 50 years ago our asses would be swinging from trees like some Strange Fruit shit. With a fork up our ass, no less.

Mind you, the fork up the ass statement would indeed have sounded funny coming from Chris Rock, but this is some serious shit, people.

But let’s examine this closely; It seems that nowadays clebrities and politicians are not afraid to speak their minds when it comes to race, be they drunk or sober. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there is no evidence to suggest that MR was drinking when he said these things. WTF is going on? Are we regressing?

I’m gonna get off my soapbox now, but there’s one more thing I have to wonder about: Is our accepting of the words Nigga/Nigger/Niggah amongst our own race really helping? Does it really “desensitize” the word? Obviously not, or we’d wouldn’t mind WHO the fuck said it, regardless of color.

#31 I understand that you feel his apology was sincere and u are entitled to your opinion. But you are saying because he is not a politician that his words hold no weight when it does. I don’t go around calling people spics, mutts, crackers, or chinks. Sorry doesn’t always take the pain away. And where everyone has it in them to forgive, do you ever really forget? It seems that something of this magnitude always happens every few years to let black people know in alot of people’s eyes we are still slaves.

**I posted some of this on the other board**

Why are people arguing over the usage of the term when the true crime is INTENT? Kramer said NIGGER with negative intent. That’s totally different from someone like Chris Rock using the word NIGGA or NIGGER with the intent of not to harm or offend anyone, but to simply discuss the racial contrasts that exist in a comedic format.

I mean people can use explosives as fireworks or demolition devices. Or people can use explosives to harm or kill people. Whether you view explosives as being good or bad is purely based on the intent of each individual who uses them.

So yes, Kramer is a racist and he should be called out as such. And no, Chris Rock using the term in a comedic format doesn’t justify Kramer using it with an intent to verbally harm those Blacks within his audience in a moment of frustration.

In terms of his apology, I think it’s too little too late because from my experience, you show your true colors when you’re intoxicated and/or angry. In this case, he said what he felt in his moment of rage. It’s obvious that he’s felt this way for a VERY long time for him to even go that far so suddenly.

And as a business owner, I do a lot of networking and socializing with a diverse group of people. From what I’ve been told in confidence, White people are just as likely to bring up race and how they REALLY feel about other races in a private conversation among other Whites than Blacks are likely to bring it up in general conversation. They may not go as far as Kramer, but they will often bring up how inferior Blacks and other minorities are in their “compare and contrast” conversations. So the biggest crime to come from this is to believe that these feelings and opinions are isolated to Kramer. Your boss, your co-worker, your neighbor, your mailman, or whatever white person you come into daily contact in life may feel the same way overall about Black people though they may feel that you’re the exception.

So be wise to that reality as that is a common held perception of Black people WORLD WIDE and the best way to achieve equality and power in this world is through self-empowerment.

58.

trapmuzik404

Tuesday, November 21, 2006 /

The best part of this entire fake ass interveiw is that he says he is “concerned about more rage and more hate coming through”; translated this means he is scared than a muthafucka that a bunch black folks will catch his ass at a red light, pull him outta his car and throw a brick at his cracker ass.

Come to think of it…I guess that’s why we never saw any “niggers” on Seinfeld. Not that I was an avid viewer.

I even heard Jerry Seinfeld talking about forgiveness. I bet Jerry and the Jewish community would not be too forgiving if Kanye or Jamie Foxx made a joke that the reason Hitler committed suicide was because he saw the gas bill from gassing the fucking Jews. Jerry would not be so forgiving then, now would he? Give me a fucking break.

Every other race, ethnic group, and religious factions are sensitive towards there struggles - Guess what? Black Folks are too!!

So, like #14 and Chloe said: What are we gonna do?

Most of you are cursing at him, but he doesn’t hear you. You aren’t hurting him nor are you sending the message that he WILL respect us. How do we take him to school without laying a finger on him?

Babies, this is what I’m pointing out to you. When something like this happens, Jerry Seinfeld only had to pick up the phone, call Dave Letterman, and have Richards on the show apologizing that night. What is that? It’s called Positioning….or having “Juice” for those who don’t understand.

Where are we? What do we control that will allow the audience members, and Black America, as a whole to hit back? We no longer have a BET, Michael Richards doesn’t have a career right now (but might after this), so how will we make him feel the impact? What non-violent, but strong message will we send?

Let’s pool our brains for ideas instead of just cursing the man out to no effect. I’m interested to hear what your young minds come up with.

@31 Spike Webb

What makes you think his apology was sincere? If this story was not made public do you think he would be anymore sorry than he supposedly is now? Remember he is an Actor.

I hate it when they come back and apologize. I don’t want to hear you weak ass fake “let’s do damage control” apology. He meant what he said and said what he meant to say. I already know racist is alive and doing very well so don’t try to sugar coat shit for me. It is what it is. He went off on his racist rant but this time it wasn’t behind closed doors. And let’s real get, his 15 minutes were over when Seinfield ended.

Dang let it go. I think everybody on this blog has racial feelings and we can’t hate white people because of it. Its call educate your self and stop putting blame on the other race for your racial views and feeling. I hated that Kramer said the N word but, he did apologize and I accepted it. I think right now he thinking about the conflict that is starting from his comments. Whites are upset and black people are upset. Dont let this take control of you and be your only view of white people. Yes there is some stupid, racist people in both group but, don’t let it define you.

I’m pretty sure that there is a lot of white ppl who are happy Kramer did this they just aint saying nothing.

And ya’ll acting like there is really something he could really do for us(blacks) to forgive him. Yeah right u know there is nothing he can do so lets keep it moving and stop wasting time on this.
