Raven looks cute even in her candids. I think people should lay off her about her weight. It’s good to see a young woman who looks normal for a change. If she was skinny you’d talk about that, hell even if she was avergae size you’d talk about that too, and then complain later that there are no full-figured women on television. I took the liberty of reading almost all of the comments regarding Raven. After reading the comments I was filled with mixed emotions. On the one hand, I concluded that persons are entitled to their opinions. On the other hand, I was sadden by the overwhelming conclusion that Raven is “fat.” Therefore, I decided to launch my opinion:

Raven is not “fat,” overweight, obese, nor does she need to loose 15 to 20 pounds! To compare her to Monique was ridiculous.

Raven is a very healthy, sucessful, beautiful, and amazingly talented picture of her young self.

As she matures, she will “tighten up” in the areas of fashion, friends, how she treats others* and physical appearance.

*I did read the comment on Raven being rude. I heard she was rude from someone who had the opportunity to meet Raven.

However, I was left dumbfounded at all the negative comments and that the comments were about weight.

Here we have a successful black woman, doing her thing, not fallin prey to what society says is beautiful i.e. these skinny, sickly, no boobs, no butt-having models.

We should be thanking Raven for being herself and not ending up like models Ana Carolina Reston and Luisel Ramos, who at ages 21 and 22, died of anorexia-nervosa.

We should be thanking Raven for promoting good self-image, high self-esteem, good self-perception and the ability to rise above what society says is beautiful. If Raven did not have these things, we could be reading about her sickly habits and possible death.
