Anyway, Taj selected some models from the e-mails he received and here are some of the dope shots he took. And get this, most of the models are actual CL readers…now that’s wassup.
Here is what Taj wanted to say to everyone:
Thanks to everyone who contacted me in regards to the casting notice. It was a pleasure working with all involved and I look forward to doing it again. Also, a special thank you to Nostylgia (www.nostylgia.com) sneaker shop for the kicks and clothing and Weight (www.weightnyc.com) for giving me gear. Lastly, thank you too, Angel La. for seeing my vision, as well as Hair Designer DeLonte CLark and celebrity makeup artist, Encruma Garriques. I’d checked out his work on his profile a couple of weeks back, and I must say that his photos just GRAB you. I love Brazillian cubic art, which is vibrant and sharp and colorful, and these photos are kinda reminiscent of that style. Love it.
They almost look like living color cartoons or something. The composition almost looks surreal (in a good way).

great photos! although I didn’t make the cut I am glad that other concreteloopers got the chance to get great photos for their books!
For me, it’s all about bringing the best out of our People of Color. Please note that these models had gorgeous insides to match their outsides. No one came to the shoot with any drama. Everyone was so professional. Although one model came with three bodyguards…LOL.
If tha’ guy in the first pic (Kent) is really a concreteloop reader, just wanna let you know………..you can get it LOL!!! DAMN he’s fine. As for the rest of the pictures, nice work.

Great work. As for the man in the first pic… is his belly button really that high or are his pants that low? Either way, he is definitely sexy!

Beans, his pants are down very low. I never even noticed that. LOL. Mikea, I was looking for dark skinned men and women and only a few responded that were in the Tri-State area. But they weren’t what I wanted. The darker skinned woman I wanted to use first told me she lived in NY, then changed up and said she comes to NYC occasionally, so that didn’t work. And the dark skinned dude I did pick for the shoot never followed through and chose not to show up to the shoot. Oh well, his loss.

Taj—these are really good photos. Excellent job! And ladies, if you want some more eye candy, visit Taj’s site. I fell in love twice, once with the guy smoking the cigar [even though I don't like smokers] and the guy watering the grass who will be my future gardener. I could do some loads of laundry on his abs. Whew!
