VING AIN’T KISSING NO MAN!
Ving Rhames ain’t out to do nothing close to the scenes in ‘Brokeback Mountain’. The actor is currently filming a movie with Adam Sandler called “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” where he plays a macho fireman who is a bit confused about his sexual preference, and had to shoot a scene involving him smooching another man.
Apparently, Ving was NOT having it and was uncomfortable to the point of not continuing the scene. The producers quickly grabbed an extra said to be a tall girl wih short hair and dressed her up in men’s clothes to finish the scene. Hollywood don’t get it twisted, he’s not anti-gay, he’s just the average black man. Sorry they just don’t get down like that…period! SOURCE
TOOTIE IS HAVING A BABY
According to the NY Post’s Page Six, friends of Kim Fields are reporting that the former ‘Facts Of Life’ star is three months pregnant. Kim recently has switched from the acting scene to the director’s chair and currently resides in New York. No word on the baby daddy if there really is one.
Anyway congrats to Kim if this is true!
BEYONCE SAYS SHE CAN TAKE THE BACKSEAT
Bootylicious star Beyonky has nothing but love for Jennifer. Knowles spoke with reporters on Saturday and denied the rumors of a feud between her and Jennifer Hudson as well as jealousy over Hudson’s ongoing praise.
“I’m already a star. I already have nine Grammys. Everyone knows I can sing,” she said. “I did this because I wanted people to know that I can act and I can play someone so different from myself.” She admitted if she had the chance to play Effie, she would’ve – said Knowles, “I wish I could’ve gained 20 pounds and played Effie.”
Doesn’t that almost sounds like a subliminal way of calling Jenny big boned? READ MORE

from born to play deena to wish she could have played effie!!!!!?????????? well this is coming from the same girl who said nasty put your cltohes on and look at her now. typical hypocrite.
B please! stop this madness you can sing u cant act. that monotonous acting voice of yours is just not working.
I love Beyonce because she could give a fuck about whether Jennifer wins an Oscar but she will smile in your face and talk nice about you…BUt deep down she dont care…thats why I like her….passive agressive
Keep up the good work Bee.!
You kids are crazy… Bey….smmfh.
@ RUNTHESHIT..YOU NEED TO HUSH.
ACTUALLY THE QUOTE IS REAL….GO TO CRUNK & DISORDERLY YOU CAN FIND THE ENTIRE ARTICLE ON A LINK THEY HAVE
What?? I can’t believe that Beyonce said that….it doesn’t sound like someting that she would say in PUBLIC, I don’t know about that one.
I don’t blame Ving. Stand your ground!!!
Awwww…..I hope Kim is preggers. Maybe this will help Janet get on with her and JD having a baby. As scary as that sounds, I think he will be the babydaddy.
As for “Throw all my achievement in somebody’s face” goes, she needs to stop. This is the exact reason why people don’t like her ass!!! She is gonna get smart one too many times and she’s gonna catch a backhand to the grill. “Shakes head”
Ving Rhames – I understand…Acting is one thing, but KISSING a dude…nah, that’s alright, I’ll pass…..
Tottie is having a Baby – Well, isn’t she suppose to ??? She has to be aleast 40 by now..What has she been waiting on ????
Beyonce – Was it necessary for her to say all that ???
She would have APPEARED to be more HUMBLE if she simply said “I support Jennifer Hudson, and I’m proud to act in a movie as HER co star”
This is WHY they really don’t need to let Beyonce talk…She says DUMB things when she’s not scripted or rehearsed by mommy & daddy….
How is Beyonce playing someone so different from herself?
I did feel that is was little catty to say that about the 20lbs. Who cares I bet we are the ones putting all this negativity to the mess. I am sure JHud gives Beyonce respect for all she has accomplished. Oh and she is probably just honored to have worked with such a talented cast. Come on Beyonce, Eddie Murphy and Jaime Foxx, thats prob the highlight of her short career.
Stars of “Dreamgirls” upstaged by newcomer Hudson !!!
By Mark Egan
NEW YORK (Reuters) – The movie adaptation of the famed Broadway musical “Dreamgirls” stars Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx, chart-topping singer Beyonce Knowles and long-time favorite Eddie Murphy.
But in true show business tradition, an overweight unknown more used to failure than success is stealing the show.
“It’s the biggest honor I could possibly get. I’m so grateful,” Jennifer Hudson says of the buzz that she may win an Oscar for her Cinderella turn in the role of Effie White.
“I’m so grateful. All I wanted was the part, and to hear this now? It’s very exciting,” the actress and singer told Reuters.
If Hudson is surprised by the talk of an Oscar, it’s because her resume was rather thin: She is a college drop-out with six months’ experience singing on a cruise ship who later reached a mere seventh place on the TV audition show American Idol.
Now her silver screen debut has already won her fans even before the movie opens in New York and Los Angeles on December 15 and nationwide on December 25. At media screenings, the press have greeted Hudson’s performance with whooping applause.
Her biggest ovation comes during her rendition of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” — the emotional show stopper in the original 1981 Broadway show, which won six Tony Awards.
The New York Observer described her performance of that song as “five mellifluous, molto vibrato minutes that have suddenly catapulted Ms. Hudson … into the position of front-runner for the best supporting actress Oscar.”
Newsweek said that when moviegoers hear Hudson sing the song, she “is going to raise goose bumps across the land.”
The movie tells the story of a group of black female singers and is loosely based on the story of Diana Ross and The Supremes and the Motown record company. Hudson’s part is that of the hefty, difficult singer in the trio.
Hudson credits her voice to her Baptist upbringing in Chicago, where she belted out songs in church from age 7.
“I used to sing in the church choir,” she said. “People would say it was unusual for such a small girl to have such a big voice. They would say, ‘She sounds like she’s grown.”‘
Casting director Jay Binder, known for his work on major Broadway productions, said he is proud of choosing Hudson.
“It’s not like we found her working at the telephone company, but it’s the best piece of casting this office has ever done,” he said in an interview.
The part was no slam dunk for Hudson. After her first audition, Binder told her he liked her but said while she could make it on Broadway, she would have to lose some weight and work on her image if she were to make it in Hollywood.
“She was not as glamorous as we needed her to be. She needed to develop her figure in a more pleasing way,” Binder said. “We then went on, over the next six months, to see every African-American woman of a certain age on both coasts.”
After a nationwide search, countless auditions and open-casting calls failed to turn up the perfect Effie White, Binder remembered Hudson and called her back.
“When she came back six months later she was absolutely gorgeous. She was not a girl but a woman,” he said. “Without a question, it was her part. Whatever she had done, she now had sex appeal and was more comfortable in herself.”
Now as Hudson promotes “Dreamgirls” and is preparing to record an album for legendary recording executive Clive Davis, who made stars of the likes of Whitney Houston and Alicia Keys, she’s finding all the attention a little hard to believe.
“I have to pinch myself,” she said. “Am I really doing interviews? Is this really happening? Even on the movie set, I was stopping and asking myself, ‘Am I dreaming?”‘

@Ne-Ho for Ne-Yo
Thank you!!! Beyonce was first saying how she was born to play this role then in the past week since the screening and everyone is talking about Jennifer Hudson’s performance now she is saying that she didn’t have much dialogue and you won’t get a chance to see her real “skills” (as if she had any). She is one statement away from being totally hated by the public. She better watch her mouth.
That’s not all Bey said. I don’t blame Ving. And is Kim Fields pregnant by Eddie Murphy too?
yeah beyonce is trying to play jennifer hudson in the sly. We’ll see what kind of roles she’ll get after this one…probably no more group movies!
Read the comments she made dummies she said she wanted to play Deena Jones but she wanted to sing “and i am telling you” ppl always get sh*^ twisted. Now watch when Beyonce-gate dies down and she is outta sight and all the weak feamle singers start coming out ya’ll are gonna be like hey where is beyonce? and don’t hate cause basically she’s a boss bi*$h and her words were meant to leave everyone wondering-what did she mean??? now her and jay-z are gone on vacation..
Whatever on the jen and bee post, so tired of this senseless drama… congrats to kim fields, and ving.. holiday heart ring a bell?
I LOVE Beyonce…don’t get me wrong…but she need to sit down somewhere with this comment.NE-HO for NE-YO is right…she CAN’T take the backseat and she made it obvious cause all that talk she was doing about how she waited her whole life to play Deena and that the role was made for her…now she wanna play Effie…that’s fake….she sounds jealous to me. She said how she feels Deena is her so why all of a sudden she wants to be connected to Effie? She never made it seem like Deena’s role was taking a backseat to Effie’s cause it’s NOT. The limelight is on her in the movie, even though Effie can “sing” better, Deena is the star and she knew that. She thought this was her big break, she wanted this movie to be about HER, and now that she sees it’s not she is saying anything. You know…she has tried to portray herself as being humble ever since her DC days when everyone blasted her, but she is slowly coming out of her shell. I could always tell she wansn’t being her FULL self. Someone told me that she said she was a better singer than Lauren Hill on Oprah and that she would never fall like she did, in so little words. Did anyone see that? Even though the statement is arguable, that was a very un-humble thing to say and throwing her grammy’s and singing ability into the comment was uneccessary…sounds like she was bragging like “Naw, I got grammy’s, let Jennifer get her lil recognition”…hater….gotta love her though…I guess…
Black people need to wake the hell up. I’m shocked that out of all black male actors, Ving Rames would have a issue with this. If the black community as a whole wasn’t so blatantly homophobic, I’m sure Ving would get over whatever issues he has and kiss another male actor. Just like there was not any tongue involved in the kissing in Brokeback, I’m sure the director of this film wasn’t asking Ving to shove his tongue down the guys throat.
For career reasons, which I understand, he is concerned how the black community would react, and we all know for the most part it would be negative. But it’s called acting folks.
I remember in the early 90′s there was controvery because the Wayan’s brothers would greet each other with a kiss in public. Though it was mostly on the cheek, I remember some black folks going crazy. A couple of months ago, Lil Wayne and Birdman were seen giving each other a smack on the lips (despite what some believe it really was only smacks and not long drawn out kisses with tongue involved). As we know from this site, many couldn’t see that and interpreted those smacks as something sexual. It’s not all that serious people.
I’m not saying all men should go out now and start kissing each other but in situations like this Ving Rames thing, what is the big deal?
Lastly, I’ve always found it interesing that a lot of people who would give Ving props for not kissing a man, have no problem with two women kissing (tongue included unlike the Ving situation).
That’s right Ving! Your manhood is not for sale.
I loved Ving in Holiday Hearts, but I couldnt believe that it was him who player “Holiday” when I saw baby Boy! LMBO—clearly he’s not homo-phobic cuz Miss Holdiay was two parts sweetness and one part steel.
Beyonce’s comment is VERY juvenile. The comment seems to be taking a stab-in-the-back at J. Hud. She’s officially a bitch and that comment, if it weren’t so cleverly disguised, is full of hatred, animosity, and EVIL. She is just wrong wrong wrong.
I stood up for her when Pink called her a bitch…but now I concur…for diff. reasons, but still Beyonce Giselle Knowles…u r a nasty, jealous, evil BITCH!
Hmmm….”im already a star…ppl know I can sing…” wtf does that have to do w/ the movie????
“I would have loved to gain 20 lbs…” Clear stab at J Hud’s weight EVEN THO the BITCH did not have to lose 20 lbs for Deena’s role….dumbass.
Dont ask Beyaki, ask J. Hud if there is beef…of course u wont get the truth from Beyaki…she has too much face to lose by admitting jealousy.
She’s says she aint jealous…. I say
“I dont b-leve you….you need more ppl”
LOL
All is love otherwise….everyone have a pleasant day. GO VING! LOL
Another thing….wat’s wrong with a blk man not wanting to kiss another man…newflash…He’s NOT GAY!!!!!
dayum ppl irk me w/ that “blk ppl are homo-phobic shit”….he not gay! it is prob unnatural for him to kiss another man…part or no part.
Real talk….no amt of money could make me kiss a woman —–and if it meant the end of my career (if i were inclined to be an actress), then I’d be searching for another gig.
Im having a small-minded moment:
Bey, ppl don’t get grammies b/c they can sing….they get them for SONGS, ALBUMS, SALES….not b/c they can sing. Shit, Diana Ross has grammies and IMO, her ass cant hold a tune!
“I’m already a star. I already have nine Grammys. Everyone knows I can sing”
Ok Beyonce, Ima let that slide, THIZ TYME.
kind.

Thank you JESUS, there is a least one person on this blog with common sense.
A heterosexual man is going to feel “uncomfortable” kissing another man…
Why is that so difficult to understand ???
Thank You Kita bka for applying LOGIC to this thread.
I cosign what you said 101 %
Selah & Amen.
Ving: but he can dress up in drag and bounce around on screen in a blue dress and fake nails and act gayer than gay but he can’t man smooch (no homo)
Kim: Congratulations
Beyonce: that was totally subliminal. she must have been schooled by jay on the proper way to diss.

Well..She just painted a TARGET on her back
People like their “stars” to APPEAR to be humble…
That simply wasn’t a cool thing to say….

Bill Said:
Anyone can ACT gay in the movie, as long as he isn’t taking backshot’s, biting Pillows, or trading spit….
Remember that Movie a few years ago called To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmare, staring
Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze & John Leguizamo ….
Non of those guys were gay, but they played gay drag queens.
I also remember watching Cuba Gooding Jr. Play a gay character in this Movie called “As Good as it gets”
Staring Jack Nicholson & Helen Hunt …. Cuba Gooding isn’t Gay either…
Ving was not feeling the kissing scene, cause Ving ain’t gay…….
Why is that so difficult to understand ???
I dont believe that there was any real bitter animosity between the Dream Girls, lol! I do however believe that Beyonce thought that her role would be more ground breaking than the role that Jennifer Hudson plays! I am not one to hate on Beyonce JUST BECAUSE) I have to have a real reason to say something negative about her) . However did nayone see her face when Jennifer Hudson appeared on Oprah. She was smiling but I dont think she was prepared for the standing ovation and accolades rained upon Jennifer about her performance.Jennifer was humble but Jaime Fox and Beyonce seemed alil setback by the reaction, lol. Both ladies are very talented, but hey I guess its Jennifers Day to shine.
Ya’ll are too funny…
I enjoy Beyonce’s performances, music, etc…however, I agree with the overexposure of Beyonce, but this is her time to do what she’s here to do…and we’ll ALWAYS have something to say…no matter what…
Now after reading this article in People Magazine(http://people.aol.com/people/article/0,26334,1565678,00.html), I can see where Bey is coming from. HOWEVER….this is what she’s telling people who stick microphones and camera’s in her face all day long. Its part of her job to put on a smile at ALL TIMES…
When you’re at work you do the same in front of your boss. She’s at work every single day. No breaks.
These people are TOLD what to say for certain questions by their publicists all the time. Its just like a lawyer telling his/her star witness what to say and how to portray themselves on the witness stand..
Like KITA BKA just said, ask Jennifer.
People are truly amazing. Jennifer Hudson gained 20 pounds for the damn role. Anybody who knew the original play, or read the script beforehand knew that Jennifer Hudson’s part was more essential to the movie. It was always a star-making part as it turned out to be for Jennifer Holiday the original Effie. (Although Sheryl Lee Ralph, who played Deena, became the the bigger star eventually). Beyonce is being pushed in front because she is the biggest DRAW so in a sense she’s being used for her star power to promote the film.
IF I WAS THE PRODUCER FOR THE VING RHAMES PROJECT, HE WOULD BE FIRED!!!! PERIOD!
It’s ACTING! It’s your JOB! Why would you sign up for the project in the first place if you had a problem performing what the role requires Ving???
@ 211…If you (assuming that you are not a crackhead) had to portray one in a film and mid-way through it, in order to get a “real” reaction, the director told you to light a pipe (I guess that’s what crackheads do) and smoke the crack or REALLY stick urself with a needle…would you?
Case closed. It’s the same thing.
There is a diff. btw professionalism and invasion of personal space.
Kissing a person of the same sex, romantically when you are not gay invades ur personal space and he had a right to say no.
thanx, Bill….just read ur comment.

Beyonce……WHO IS DAT????
I know one thing, and that’s Beyonce does not deserve an oscar.
Is this the Logos blog?
I see where’s she coming from, she does sound jealous, but I don’t care. I will admit that Jennifer can sing better than Beyonce, but I don’t care. Fellow bloggers, is all this hype really worth all this drama? Celebs are prone to have bitch fits, and Beyonce’ and Jennifer Hudson are no exception. Just my two cents.
Good for you Ving.
I wonder if Tootie’s baby daddy lives in a test tube. Cause I haven’t seen pics of her with anyone.
Whatever Bee.
even if she didn’t mean to have a the arrogant tone she had that comment still sounds bad. she’s sounds stuck up by feeling the need to state not only that she is a star and has grammy’s but also HOW MANY she has….if she didn’t mean it the way it sonds she should picked a better way to say it. but we’re all human so we’re bound to screw up.
it’s official….Beyonce is an arrogant jerk, who can’t stand to see another person (Jennifer Hudson) receive accolades….
God don’t like ugly…..
bey sounds really dumb in her quote, it didn’t sum or resolve anything, it just added to more suspession.
I think Ving should stand on his principles.
Thats whats wrong with Hollywood. They have no morals.
And just because it is your job to act you also can let the producers and the directors know what you feel uncomfortable with. Who sayes you have to actually kiss someone in a movie if you really don’t want to.
There have been several actors that did not do love scenes with their counterparts because it was just too awkward.
Not wanting to kiss someone of the same sex is not being homophobic.
Some actors do it because they need the buzz around their career but apparently Ving does not feel he needs to take that route.
So basically what I’m saying is if you don’t want to do don’t. The producers and directors can always put a stand in just like they did.
Some of the greatest singers started in the church.
As for Bey, I’m not totally surprised by her comment.
She might be under pressure and is feeling the heat from the buzz around JHud.
I think she could have come accross a little more humble. That comment sounds a little snobby.
It is not nec for her to remind her fans that she is already a star. Everyone can see that.
I think people should maybe go and read the article because I think a lot of people are taking it of context…
Ving, I am torn, because I understand him not feeling comfortable doing the scene. But, I don’t think people should be waving the “Ving Rhames is standing by his principles flag” either b/c he is playing a “confused” character and has played a gay character (Holiday Heart) before, so clearly this isn’t a morals or principles issue.
I thought Tootie got married?
After reading the entire article it seems to me that Beyonce was insulting JH but making it seem like she was complimenting her. There was no need for her to talk about her 9 grammy’s and that everyone knows that she can sing. Then at the end of the article she is so called givng JH praise but at the same time she’saying that she never acted or made an album before as if we didn’t already know that. As for Ving if he doesn’t want to kiss a man then he shouldn’t have to. They have stunt doubles for everything else, so why not one to kiss.
Ving Rhames has a problem kissing a dude but had no problem playing a Drag Queen in one movie and getting his azz raped in “Pulp Fiction” Yeah Ving did u think we all forgot about that one…….?
Maybe Ving took those roles in the past because he wanted to eat and get his name put out there. Maybe now that he’s older he doesn’t want to “compromise his integrity”. People change and some of these bloggers think that people should stay the same day in and day out. That’s just like telling an alcoholic that “you drank in the past, you should drink now…”
IMO, Beyonce probably thought this movie was going to launch her into acting (first music, then modeling, “fashion designer” and now…acting) and thought SHE was going to be the only talk of the movie, but everyone is talking about Jennifer Hudson’s performance instead. I saw that movie bey was in with cuba (i forgot the name) and her acting skills weren’t all that great…
I know one thing for sure Beyonce or Jennifer DO NOT DESERVE AN OSCAR! Dorothy Dandridge,Lena Horne,Angela Bassett, Lynn Whitfield, Cicely Tyson, Alfre Woodard
Sophie Okonedo(Hotel Rwanda)and Thandie Newton are OSCAR worthy. Other actress’ who are deemed worthy of an OSCAR,if they had an opportunity for more serious parts include: Gabrielle Union, Sanaa Lathan, Robin Givens, Oprah,Lela Rochon,Sheryl Lee Ralph,Taraji P. Henson,Regina Hall,Regina King Joy Bryant, and Kerry Washington…the list goes on.
But there is NO way in Hell, that Beyonce should get an OSCAR when you have so many talented black actress’ who are over looked, its just not right.
*****I am a BEYONCE fan, but let’s be REAL, the girl CAN’T ACT FOR SH*T!!!! ANDS THAT”S A FACT!
@ #227 Lovely
You’ve mentioned some powerful names there. All those ladies would have been on my list too.
