I think that the style diva of the last two premeires has to be Miss Anika Noni Rose. I mean, her dresses and hair and make-up were on poing both times. Beyonce is always on point, so I think it’s time to give someone else the attention, not that I’m hating. I am a HUGE Beyonce fan, but I like Anika when it comes to the premeires. I have all her albums and movies, but my sister brought me all the movies and DVDs. And I went to see Dreamgirls yesterday at a press screening. I must say it was off the hook. JHud is one powerful singer. Her acting was on point too, I was very surprised, amazed and impressed. Now I believe all the reviews that I’ve read that said JHud stole the show. All the Beyonce fans, don’t get me wrong, but she was almost invisible, as far as the performances were concerened, compared to Jennifer (but I did enjoy Beyonce’s performance of Listen, it was very moving). I know her character of Deena was not supposed to be over-the-top, but JHud gave a sterling perfomance. I’ve never seen a musical (motion) that satisfied on all facets of the musical package, until I saw Dreamgils yesterday. Everbody, from JHud to Anika, to Eddie Murphy (I was very impressed with him too, he’s one of the best actors I think). And I was very excited to see Tank make a cameo on one of the scenes.
