Also, Mister K-Dubb you stated that some of what is going on is plain hating and you are totally right. Any time there is a somewhat reasonably attractive female or a female receiving accolades for her appearance, there’s always going to be a group of woman hating. Women are just innately jealous and always feel the need to compare themselves to other woman because of insecurities. That’s not just black woman that is ALL WOMAN. We always feel that there is some unspoken competition that we have to engage in and honestly there kind of is. Men in general are always comparing the everyday woman to woman in the media, to models, actresses, pin-up girls, …making them out to be the most beautiful and attractive woman that GOD has ever created but in reality men are surrounded by beautiful woman but we are not good enough because we’re not the fake-photo shopped-cosmetically enhanced females you see on TV or in magazines. So yes there is some hating going on because many of the females are probably saying to themselves: “why can’t I look like that” due to low-self esteem caused by a false unrealistic ideal body image imposed on us and on the other hand there is probably woman saying to themselves: “well hell I have all of that and no one glorifies me for my natural beauty!” Now you said something to the effect that black woman are jealous because some black men like to enjoy the thickness of non-black woman, but it’s more than that…when many black woman see such a relationship what is brought to mind…well at least mine any way…there’s one more thing to compete against and this is why I think that. Usually when a black man is asked why they date black woman the common first response that comes out of the everyday black male is: “Because they love fat asses and curves!” I rarely hear any other reason for dating black woman from black males besides our physical attributes. So when we see something like an Ice-T and a Coco…. we’re thinking well the physical attributes that we have that black men enjoy that kept them coming back to us is no more.
Darnell I never tried to psycoanalize you…I just stated my opinion based on the posts of your previous entries. The men here assume that we are talking neg about this woman because she is white. Black women will get up here and say neg stuff about any celebrity regardless of color(Beyonce, Shar Jackson etc…). I think it was a man who said that us black girls are hating because now its a phenomenon that white girls are becoming thick in the earlier post thus starting the women here to attack. I don’t believe that people should tell people who they should be with. I don’t believe that a good black man should be past up for a thug type loser by anyone. I don’t look for thugs in fact I’m repulsed by them because to me they do not represent what black people in America are about. I am in a very happy marriage with a hispanic man of ten years but your right, in the past I picked guys who promised the world and delivered nothing except my beatiful twins from one of the jerks (these guys had very good jobs and seemed like respectable black men to me.) But I guess that goes to show that everything that looks good and is wrapped up pretty may not be.

Yes I do agree with you on the fact that a lot of black woman overlook good black men just on the sole fact that they don’t make enough. I know that must feel terrible but here is why, I am not justifying this or saying that this reason is right, but the media portrays the coveted ideal black male as a thug, athlete, or entertainer with money to spare. So that’s what superficial black woman look for when they are man-hunting… Instead of taking care of themselves they want someone to take care of them and lavish them with gifts. Well sistahs (and woman in general for that matter), here is some advice don’t overlook a black man because he isn’t making 6 figures and doesn’t own 2 homes, a beach house, and a yacht. That I.B.M. (ideal black male) you’re looking for is rare and the chances of you finding him are slim. Ya’ll claim ya’ll looking for love but you are really looking for wealth and you need to stop it…because that black man working a 9-5 could be your perfect match but you won’t even look his way because he doesn’t fit your financial bracket. Furthermore, Black woman, ya’ll should not make and impose such high unrealistic standards for black males; they already have it hard enough. Also if you don’t drive a Benz or own a million-dollar house don’t expect that from anybody else. If you are equating the amount of material things with love and happiness you are a damn fool.

You are very right with your post but the same goes for the men who have unrealistic expectations for us women as far as how a woman should look, how long our hair should be, how light or dark we should be, how big our assets are or what attitude we should have. Some men out there truely just want eye candy on their arm that shows no indications of emotion(except an orgasmic stare) or cognitive thinking.

the real issue is, if the only characteristics that you are looking for in a mate are physical, you really aren’t looking for a relationship. i admit, the physical is part of it, but if it’s the biggest part, you are probably missing out. and now since you can pretty much change and alter anything physical, is it the real person after all?
