I think it’s a sad case in America when the nation’s top black men’s magazine has a photo of a white woman on the cover! That sends a certain message to brothas. You don’t see sistas spread on the cover of white publications.
Yes she is a attractive, no one is disputing that..but that’s not the point. The point is that Smooth magazine is supposed to be a magazine that showcases the beauty of BLACK women! This Coco chick is blond, blue eyes with implants. She is what American society says the standard of beauty is, so really, she can on the cover of any magazine because she has more options than sistas. She can go to Maxim, Stuff, FHM, Sports Illust, and any of the other white publications…why put her on the cover of Smooth?

It’s an insult to black models who could have been showcased in that spot. The way Ice-T flaunts her around is only a reminder & stereotype to the world that the white female is somehow the epitome of beauty and putting this chick on the cover only validates that stereotype even more.

p. s. It’s only fair to express that the other magazine that caters to black beauty, (i think the name of the mag is “BLACK MEN” ) has a Latin/White chick on the cover. There are only 3 main magzines that caters to the beauty of sistas and 2 of them have non-black women on the cover! My people what is going on? Black women can’t have nothing!
