OK i’m getting tired of this. Why do black people hate on each other period? Who cares if the person is light, carmel, brown or dark brown. We are all beautiful! Let’s just stop it period i’m sick of it. Let’s just learn to embrace who we are no matter what complexion GOD has blessed us with. FANTASIA’s album is fiyah. She is beautiful inside and out.
All this shows is that women with ethnic features are deemed “ugly.” I’ve noticed that women, light or dark with more “Anglo” features tend to get looked at as attractive. Okay,so she has a wide nose,kinky hair and full lips..so do I. And in my experience,back in the day, most people tended to think that I was not attractive. When I was growing up, back in the day, it went down in that fashion.
Nowadays, I’ve noticed that people with “ethnic” features are still snubbed. Even with the advent of models like Alek Wek (whom I think is a beautiful example of black beauty,)people still lean towards the more less ethnic features,i.e. straight noses, and thin lips. We all know, or should know that society has a European standard of beauty. Beauty IS in the eye of the beholder, but I think that the beholders need to take a deeper look before judging.

#141 I believe what you say is true except for the lip comment. thin-lipped people are getting injections of fillers in order to attain bigger lips. But looking at Tasia her features are very prominent (like mine) so in order to minimize I wear my own (natural) hair longer. If I ever have it shoulder length I just don’t look that attractive.

We need positive messages in the music b/c that’s what most kids are listening to. Artists need to be careful so are youngings might want tot to attain those baby makin hips instead of going to school to be something. I keep looking at Fantsia hoping her style will get better, as she tries harder to promote this album. OLIAND1…I honestly don’t think she goes without a bra because she thinks it is sexy. A lot of people just don’t like wearing bras. If I’m not mistaken, she didn’t have one on when she originally auditioned for American Idol. She’s just being herself, but I agree she could use some support.
