JAMES BROWN VIEWING AT THE APOLLO THEATER

jb1.jpg

Family members stand by James Brown’s casket for his viewing that was held yesterday, at the Apollo Theater. Brown, who shaped American rhythm-and-blues, funk and disco genres for a half-century and was a charter inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, died of complications from pneumonia in the state capital Atlanta, Georgia, on Christmas. He was 73.

Just a heads up, one more picture of him in the casket is after the jump.

  1. littlemamajtb, I think you are showing disrespect towards James Brown by comparing him to some clowinsh comic book character. The man was an icon in the world of show biz. Entertainers are like Mr. Brown were all about the glitter and flamboyance on stage and in the public’s eye. There is absolutely nothing wrong in bringing that image to the grave with them.

Besides, who else could pull off being waked at the Apollo in such style?

My only fear is that this event may give Flava Flav some ideas. Oh mannnnnn…!

i don’t know what to say he looks like but he looks ugly.they could have at least tried to fix him up better and that purple suit that he was wearing was looking completely ugly.i don’t like the way they fixed him up at all.if it was me,i would have done a way better job than that.anyway, R.I.P James Brown

samantha are just about the most ignorant person ever.
you make all of those disrespectful and foolish comments, that have no relevance at all and then say rest in peace. do you even know what that means?

you don’t like the way they fxed him up WTF, do you even know this man or his accomplishments? and even if you don’t spend less time posting ignoramt ass comments and more time trying to get an understanding of how to respect your elders and people in general.

  6. Did anyone see Michael Jackson at James Brown’s Funeral ???
    Man, that’s a strange looking dude…
Was that a wig he was wearing ??
I heard that Michael Jackson is moving to Las Vegas, and he will performing at one of the Casion’s on a regular basis

  7. oh yeah, I have something to say about James Brown’s funeral…

As much as I respect James Brown, and love his music, it pained me to see him in that casket.

Whoever the Mortician/Funeral Director was should be shot…
That has to be the worst job of preparing a body I’ve ever seen…
James’s hair wasn’t done, and they should have applied MORE makeup to make him look more lifelike…

When I was in college I used to work in a funeral home, so I know what could have been done…

    That’s mortician’s work was HORRIBLE.

  8. R.I.P. Mr James Brown…!! Definitely ONE IN A MILLION!! 73 isnt old at all; and to be honest in the world of entertainment, many artist/celebrities tend to look old beyond their yrs at times from all of the traveling, entertaining, ups & downs, stress, etc. I think James Brown looked good for his age and he had also been pretty sickly. He was def a LIVE one! But I think by right, it was good to see him laid to rest in a more humble fashion….somewhat anyways.

    Peace!~

  9. Travis B

His eyebrows don’t look right. He looks a lil different in the face

  10. Perfectlyme wrote that “73 isn’t old at all”
