Zudoir, your on point with that one. I’m happy for mary but she’s not and was never a great vocalist. She seldom gives good performances and they are rather boring. Her vocals are always off-key and she never hits any real high notes, for some reason people equate Mary’s shouting and yodeling with singing, however people still love her so……..I just wish people would not give girls like amerie, rhianna and ciara a hard time about their vocals when Mary sounds horrid 90% of the time and she still recieves critical acclaim……I’m still happy she got the 8 grammy nods though, everyone needs to get some kind of credit. How could ppl who don’t have an ear for soul music tell us if it’s soulful or worthy of a Grammy? The Grammy board should have a representative from each genre. People who are well respected and know GOOD music.

Has Anita Baker ever received a Grammy? If she has then good BUT if it’s only a few then I rest my case. Mary’s music is going to be played for YEARS to come as Anita’s.

Do any of you remember when Mary performed at the American Music awards several yrs back. She performed ‘no more drama’. It was electrifing. That night Yolanda Adams performed and it was also electrifing. Celene Dion was sitting in the front row. Both artists got standing ovations. Celene was standing and clapping with her mouth hanging open. You could tell everyone was moved by both of those performances.

I enjoy watching Mary perform. I am always hoping she will give a performance like the one I mentioned above.

I hope she performs at the Grammys this yr.

I like the album, but I don’t necessarily think it deserves all the awards. It’s too preachy. Almost india.arie like. I think the reason she’s getting all the accolades is essentially because there’s nothing better out this year. If i look at it from that perspective, then she does deserve it.

I am so shocked that Rihanna did not get not evan 1 nomination it is not feir ”SOS” was the best song of the summer evan ”Unfaitful” was a hit ,she should be nominated in best pop vocal preformence ,new artis, and best pop album so not feir she desirve it ,like common I dont have a problem with Beyonce,but Deja vu and Ring the Alarm gramy nominations I don think do. But I am glad thet Christina Aguilera got 2 nominations(she should have a t least 4) but it is still good I wish her all the best and I hope she brings 2 gramys home!You Go girl,and I hope Rihanna gets nomination next year!

Amazing album, Go Mary! U deserve everything. Yes, I agree that she deserves these awards because nothing better came out this year. But that does not mean nothing else was not good! When u compare Mary to herself you understand the respect for this album; because honestly u cant compare her to anyone else. Shes in a league of her own. She can record whatever she wants and it will still sell, but she instead chooses to give it 110% all the time. Honestly, I saw Album of the Year, but the grammys you never know! Here is my prediction of Mary wins:

1. R&B Album on the Year
2. Pop Collaboration w/ U2
3. R&B Song of the Year
4. Female R&B Perfomance
5. Song of the Year (this one because the popularity,
quality, and vocal performance)

But we will see, you never know with the grammys! I must admit, Mary put out one of the best Albums this year, if not the best! If the grammys disappoint then this will show why the industry is where it is now. Remember, what happened to Mariah at the grammys, and Nas and the source awards. Lets just cross our fingers.
