To me, it’s all the same thing…I always say that men and women just have different forms of currency. Men have very high physical expectations. Woman want to be taken care of emotionally and materially. This happens in every race, gender and socio-economic group. After waiting for a long time – I’m 27 now – I met an amazing black guy who is on my level – we are both comp sci grads and we are so compatible and our relationship is great. While I was single it used to really irk me to see all these black men with their white chicks. I’m thinking there are so many great single black females around so why are we completely overlooked? I am still bothered by all these black men with white broads as I am aware of the high numbers of sisters who are single (most of my friends). Why is it necessary to always state that black men should always be with black women? Hello…maybe they’re actually in love? I can understand that disregard for black men who negatively stereotype black women and say that is the reason that they date outside of their race. However, for the men above…how do you know that it isn’t real love between these couples that brings them together? If black men are so open to dating other races why can’t black women do the same?
My mother is a strong black woman married to a strong white man. They have been married for 35 years. The more everyone comes together through school or work the more options that become available to us. My mother didn’t think to herself that she had to wait for a black man to love. She met my father, they had an instant connection, dated for a few years, and then married and had 3 children. I don’t understand what the problem is if the love is true.

First of all @ Bill there are people who work for UPS and Fedex who make 100+ (my son’s father) you must know that having a degree does not entitle you to a well paying job. I know so many people who graduated with me who still are making less than 35,000. So because that man have a degree does not mean that he is entitle to anything. What you would want to do is wait on who GOD have for you and in the meanwhile work on yourself,and make sure that whoever you are with you are wevenly yoked. Education may get you in the door but experience and hard work keep you in the door. I’ll take a hard worker over a man with a degree any day of the week. You say a woman is usually the motivator, I disagree, I want a man to who want to have a better life, who want to provide a stabl economic lifestyle for himelf and his family. Whether you’re with someone or not shouldn’t determine your motivation. As for the race issue I prefer to date black men, however I do not pass judgement on people who date outside of their race, that could be who God place for them, that is what is so amazing about the walk of life, every road traveled there is a lesson learned. In my OPINION love who you love and let the next person do the same!
