I mean she’s attractive and talented, but she has to understand that she has to give the public a chance to miss her so she can always remain fresh. #7 – I’m not hating or nothing like that as I gave her props. But it’s not working because in terms of opening my wallet, I haven’t purchased anything “Beyonce” since the Survivor CD and I don’t know too many people who have. I waited for all of her movies to hit cable or bootleg, and even then I haven’t seen Goldmember or Pink Panther. I haven’t bought any of her CDs though I downloaded a few tracks too. The next thing I’ll actually buy with Beyonce involved is a ticket to see Dreamgirls. That has more to do with supporting a quality black film and watching Jennifer Hudson’s and Eddie’s performances versus me looking forward to Beyonce because her acting ability is weak at best.
Business is supply and demand. The market is overloaded with Beyonce supply, but in terms of who’s willing to pay for her, where is the demand? I’ll take free pictures of her on CL all day, but I’d be damn if I spend $5 on a magazine only for her or $10 on a movie only for her.
At the rate she’s going, I just don’t see her having “impact” over a lifetime. If she had taken a break after Survivor or her first solo CD, then came back out around now with the above photo spread to drop another solo or DC CD along with DreamGirls, I would be excited to open my wallet to see what she has going on now. But I know everything she has going on and I seen ALL that she has to work with so there isn’t any excitement about her at least from me.
I just hope that after her and Jay get married, break up, or do whatever they’re going to do, she goes to a 1 year on, two or three years off strategy. Then we’ll have time to miss her and pay top dollar when she does hit the scene again because we’ll know the moments won’t last forever. Right now, it feels like forever.

In the entertainment business the whole point is to be seen and heard. If Beyonce was just a singer you wouldn’t see her so much, but because she’s into acting, selling a clothing line and happens to be the girlfriend to one of the biggest names in hip-hop, and business, you see her a lot — because you’re looking.
As far as taking some time of the the public eye – Naw… there is no entertainer who wants to give the public “time to miss them.” People are fickle, and they aren’t sitting around waiting for someone to come out – they just replace the need with someone else.
She is seen so much because there are so many mediums now to see her – and everyone else. She is seen no more than Tom Cruise and Katie, Britney Spears, Brad and Angelina, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton – who, by the way ain’t doing shit, but can be seen everywhere.
If you are sick of seeing her – do something else… read a book, she hasn’t written any books – yet
play somebody else’s CD [cause she gonna be on the radio] or even play a book on CD — download somebody else’s shit on your iPod or Zune.
She’s doing what every entertainer wants to do — stay exposed. In the entertainment business, there is no such thing as overexposure – She’s probably going to stay on her grind… and if she doesn’t, Jay Z will, and you’re gonna see her with him.

I can see both sides of the argument.
For example, Maxwell used to be my favorite artist but after waiting years for him to come back with good material I had to replace him with Jill Scott.
On the other hand with Beyonce, I used to be dazzled by her but now I’m just like whatever because I see her everyday. I still like her but she doesn’t have as much of an impact. Jay-Z is actually an example for staying out of the scene and creating a buildup before coming back. He actually told us that he was not coming back and we still wanted his album 3 years later. It didn’t matter because his talent and fanbase will support him regardless.
