RUMOR: CHRIS ROCK DIVORCE HEATS UP?
Thursday, December 14, 2006

I’ve been getting a lot of tips about the recent Chris Rock & Malaak Compton-Rock split, and word is Malaak is out for Chris’ blood.
Last month Chris filed for divorce from Malaak citing the played out “iirreconcilable differences.” Sources say Malaak has evidence of Chris’ infidelity and is eventually going to take him to the cleaners. If this is true, she most likely end up with more than half of his assets.
Another source says that Chris saved the threatening voicemail messages he received from Malaak and will use them against her when in court. He is also after custody of their two children.
The two have been married since November of 1996 and have two daughters — 4 year-old Lola and 2 year-old Zahra..
Don’t know what’s up with that, but never threaten anyone on an answering machine yall, that’s just stupid. Some people never learn..

I wonder why is it we Americans are so terrible at marriage? What is the damn problem?!

I hate to say it, but I honestly believe MOST male celebrities cheat because women are willing to do just about ANYTHING to get next to a man with fat pockets.
So, if you want to marry a wealthy and famous man, be prepared to share him. Not many men can turn down free BJ’s and practically unlimited booty.

Them kids’ll be alright. Broke kids gotta deal with this every day. The parents will split custody, and the kids will never do without (like a lot of kids with deadbeat absent parents).
Not saying I advocate divorce in any way, but sometimes its better to let it go then fight in front of the kids all the time. Kids can tell if things aren’t right at home.

12 that’s true. sometimes the parents do a better job apart then they ever could together. I don’t understand why he’s going after custody though. Not sure if he’s seeking full or joint, but taking kids away from their mama is wrong.

I hope that this is just a rumor. It’s enough trauma on kids when two parents split up/divorce and they have to deal with the fact that both parents aren’t there in the home anymore. But to add on divorce drama uhhh. I can’t understand how two grown people can’t be civil and come to an agreement and I’m talking from experience. I have been wronged and done wrong and still think kids should never be brought into adult problems and that includes bashing if they have a no good dad or mother you don’t have to say a word about it, they’ll see.
I don’t think people should stay together for the sake of the kids if the house is in turmoil. I’d rather them have two loving parents apart than a dysfunctional diaster together.
I let my husband know from jump when I said “Until death do us part” I meant that, GOD’s way or my way. LOL

People should never stay together for the kids. Staying together when you’re unhappy can be worse. You think kids can’t feel stress and anger in the house?

For real, if he cheated then he should be out. My man and I have an understanding, cheating is unacceptable. If he does it and I find out then he’s gone. I may have his kids but I won’t be disrespected that way, nor will I let you disrespect my children like that. So, if he cheated then he’s gonna get what he deserves…more like Malaak is gonna get what she deserves. A whole lotta his dough for being married to him for 10 years and bearing 2 of his children. And he’s not all that good looking anyway…a little extra for having to look at his face for 10 years should make it ok.

Maybe they shouldn’t have gotten married in the first place, lot of men with money know why women r trying to get with them. What about the little girls? want be first child or children who parents divorce, gimme a dayum break, especially in Hollywood. You can always tell women that aren’t celebrities when they marry men that r, those heffas get pregnant before ink dry on paper, lmao. Women with money don’t even worry bout tryin to have a kid that fast, they set anyway, with exception of Brittney Spears.

No need to keep the kids in a house of turmoil but why the parents always gotta use the kids as a weapon or “fight for custody” when divorce crops up?
I mean when they were married and happy they were probably referring to each other as a “great mother” or “excellent dad”. But as soon as stuff hits the fan now all of a sudden he/she is no longer fit to raise the child and someone wants 100% custody. Pure BS! Dumb asses lose their fricking minds and forget about the child’s need in these situations.
With all their money, why can’t they agree to 50-50 custody? Hell, even if they broke. Why should the kids be forced away from one parent or the other? That’s just wrongand stupid!
I just don’t get it. Then they wonder why the kids grow up and turn to drugs, end up in dysfunctional realtionships and sh!t like that!

It’s sad to see anyone get a divorce, but even worse when they fight over petty things. It’s just pent up resentment.
They were having problems once before and were separated and then got it back together, but I guess it wasn’t enough.
See, this is why men are reluctant to get married in the first place!…

It’s unfortunate but that’s “marriage” in 2006. I think it’s unrealistic for a woman to marry a famous man and expect him to be monogamous. It’s just not going to happen. It’s not only unrealistic, it’s borderline ridiculous. I’m not going to go into men having multiple women but monogamy is a modern day construct.

The only way a famous man can stay married and especially to someone not in the industry is to take the Snoop approach “It’s cheaper to keep her” - Snoop’s wife pretty much said she excepts the fact that her husband sleeps around. It was in Sister to Sister I believe August 2005. That’s a dumb woman!

i would have to disagree… when you commit to marrying a person u know what is expected of you with or without other people tryna get at you and interfere, point blank, period. and because people don’t take that commitment seriously and say ” he’s famous so he can’t be help up to the same standard” is probably the reason people are
A) doing what they wanna do (cheating) and telling the spouse to just deal with it
B) using marriage as a trial period and divorcing

she should count her blessings that the marriage is over.
and yes, take that dude for every cent u can get. men think women r gold-diggers for this, but if we put value on the tears we have to cry over-bullshit…. no number of millions would cover the cost.
real talk.
a hoe will be a hoe. male or female.
may sound simple, but hoes don’t change.
if he cheated, he doesn’t respect her.

#68 - she founded an organziation called StyleWorks
styleWORKS is a nonprofit organization Malaak founded as a support service for former welfare dependants who want to work but don’t know how to present themselves at interviews or in office environments. “Self-esteem is very important for women coming off of welfare,” says Malaak. “Our challenge at styleWORKS is to give specific advice and info on skincare, hair and makeup issues.” To do so, Malaak and her team of volunteers meet one-on-one with each client for a 90-minute consultation. Initially, they discuss the kind of job culture the client is entering and suitable ways to dress for that particular environment.
