I’m told things soured between the Knowles family and Ms. Hudson because Daddy Knowles tried unsuccessfully to woo the former American Idol contestant as a client to his Houston-based Music World Entertainment management company.
“He tried to sign her halfway through production of Dreamgirls because he wanted to be her manager,” my source says, “but Jennifer turned him down. That’s when things really went south.”
Although Hudson already had management during this time, a source tells me Matthew has recently told some people he’s actually been managing her “for a while now.”
“He walks around saying he’s her manager, and everyone is like, ‘No, you’re not,’ ” a source says.
I’m told that Daddy was so insulted by her refusal to sign with him that he demanded the movie be re-edited to lessen Hudson’s screen time and boost Beyoncé’s. He argued that his daughter was being shortchanged but was rebuffed by the studio and the filmmakers. In one meeting with director Bill Condon, I’m told, Beyoncé’s mom, Tina, went into a “tirade” about how he ruined the movie for her daughter. “It was supposed to be her Oscar role,” Tina hissed, according to a source.
So I guess Beyonce and Jennifer were cool, but of course Bee’s crazy parents wanted to start something up. This goes to show you that the parents are to blame for the way some of these stars act. Don’t know if this one is true, but I wouldn’t put it past the Knowles fam.

Actaully, it’s posible that those who are lined up to see the movie will be there to see eddie or jamie or danny or jennifer. She might have been the initial reason some were interested [which would explain her being promoted as the main character] but most of the people I know couldn’t care less that Beyonce is in it, particularly since Jen and Eddie are being hailed for their performances.
After seeing some scenes, I will be one of those lined up to see Eddie [for those of you that have seen some of his scenes, doesn't he remind you of his James Brown "I wanna get in teh hot tub" skits from snl?] and of course Jen.

I have yet to see the movie (I plan to), but from everything I’ve read…people are really talking about J Hud’s performance being outstanding. I have not heard or read the same for Beyawnce. That’s why I don’t understand why the hell Beyawnce was nominated for lead…especially given her acting in past movies.

You lose that bet yourself, because I did NOT buy BEYONCES album. And NO I did not see DREAM GIRLS yet. I think the movie is sure to be a GREAT FILM, however I dont think it’s worth $25 dollars and “special seating”. I think that was a bit over done on their parts. I saw on TV the other day 2 MOVIE critics talking about the movie DREAM GIRLS, & the woman critic stated that she feels the movie could have done WITH OUT all of the photo shoot scenes, video shoot scenes of BEYONCE’s character. She said since the original character’s vocal range was not in the original play, they added Beyonces “LISTEN”-to display her vocal range.
The lady critic felt that the movie could have done without that as well as all the other extra “BEYONCE” scenes- especially since the movie was EXTRA LONG in itself (both critics agreed that the movie was extremely long). I fell out laughing. (& that woman was a white chick too. So it wasn’t like a “sistah” was hating on BEYONCE). I agree—Who would want to sit their watching all those scenes of BEYONCE’s character, doing fashion and photo shoots?
We see enough of that with TYPICAL “BEYONCE”.

I have a lot of empathy for Beyonce. I believe each interview is a struggle for her…it isn’t easy saying just the right things while all eyes are on you… all ears alert…everyone sitting in judgment. She almost appears child-like with a fragile psyche. I recall her saying once that she used to go into her room and cry for days following the first break-up of DC and the negativity that followed. I am an English teacher and I have picked up on the fact that Beyonce may have a communication problem born of shyness or slowness–I don’t know. She might have had a twinge of jealousy by the spotlight being on JenHud, but she’s gracious and doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She’s lovely and talented and will always have her detractors because of it. Her parents may just be overprotective of her.
