STARDROBE: NICOLE RICHIE’S BOHO GLAM

Sunday, December 17, 2006

nicolestyle.jpg

This edition of stardrobe features bohemian glam - a look heavily worn by Nicole Richie.

nicolestyle4.jpg

Bohemian glam is a combination of boho themed dress - which is almost a vintage ‘hippie’ look with a touch of modern style and high fashion. Nicole is known for doing this, really emphasizing with her accessories. You may see her in a cute floral smock, flip flops and huge vintage shades, yet she’s carrying a $3,000 gold python Chloe Silverado bag.

Many can’t dish out for all the true Chole, Chanel, Balenciaga, or Marc bags Miss Richie carries so, the imitations will suffice. The style of these bags are so hot, that it really isn’t a crime to be seen with the copies if you ask me. Paired with beautiful jewelry and nice threads of course, you will pull it off easily ;)

BEN…What the hell are you talking about? Black women practically keep the fashion/make-up industry afloat. Get your facts straight. Also, there is nothing world class about an uneducated, anorexic heroin addict.

If she’s considered to be glamorous, then I’m moving to another planet.

You don’t have to be skinny to wear these clothes. You can be any size. I actually like the bohemian look. And I think no matter how drunk or skinny she is she makes sure she is dressed.

@NewAgePrep the reason why those designer cater to super skinny people is because they have the bucks to buy that high priced sh8*. Woman with healthy curves look better no matter what they wear.

Yes, Newageprep…its the confidence that makes you look good in any outfit. Whether you’re a size 00 or a 24…I like Nicole Richie’s style…I think she may be able to rock a “Wal-Mart” sweatsuit. I don’t care what you say, nobody wants a bone but a dog!!!

Uh,puhhlleezzee, pleeeaaassee, there is nothing cute about a woman with a 40 inch waist and 48inch hips rocking skinny jeans and im speaking on behalf of healthy girls. Mzrepresented and newsarepp(what ever your name is) yall both need to stop. Skinny does not mean better boo. Im guessing you both got caught up in the ” Let me make myself throw up in the toilet to make myself deathly skinny to fit in”. No real man likes a woman with toothpicks. And please, he is far from broke just because she has a healthy curvy body.Get real. You both need self-esteem counseling with your jacked up attitudes.

Love,Peace,&&Honeyy

Actually Nicole’s style isn’t really HERS. Its Rachel Zoe’s her stylist. It was featured on VH1. She also dresses Mishca Barton, Lindsay Lohan, and Jessica Simpson. Supposedly she created the “bomehemian chic” look. And yes, its mostly targeted at the 100 pounds or less group (as far as I can tell).

@ POUNDS I am not getting upset. For the American people to defend fatness is scary. White men dont accept that shit but broke black men do…it’s called LAZINESS!

If someone can give me one benefit of being fat then maybe I’ll shut the hell up. Being fat is nasty, sloppy, and UNHEALTY. STOP living in a world of DENIAL and face the facts fatties.

I am so glad my husband has high standards and don’t accept sloppy shit like fat woman

man people are impossible to please. not every white or asian woman is going to be a waif and not every black woman or latina is going to be curvy. yes NICOLE is unhealthy but what good is there in bashing every black woman with a naturally thin body? that happens all the time on these boards. same problematic concept of perfectionism, different race and ideal. its ok to reject unhealthy body images but to be like be like monique and call skinny women bitches? does that make you feel better about yourself? work what you’ve got, take good care of yourself physically and emotionally and just shut up! i just wanted to put that out there.

and why cant these styles work on bigger women? don’t yall see some of this same stuff in lane bryant or other plus sized stores? maybe next time tianna could feature two celebs with different body types and yall would quit griping.

anyway, i loved this post. very useful, very professional. i always say blogs are the new print magazines.

Beauty fades on the outside-don’t judge a book by its cover-Your character is everything-You should be remembered from your character and not your reputation.I know being fat is not healthy but some of you have to know people struggle with weight-they could either be suffering from premenopause and things like that for a woman.Everybody is different if everybody looked the same this world would serve no purpose. We need to stop thinking we are perfect because we are not.I can’t believe how narrow-minded commenters got on CL.Its disgusting.

The comments that newageprep and mzrepresented have made are why you have 12 and 13 year old girls throwing up after they eat. I dont know where yall from, but the men I know like their women thick-nice cury hips & butt and big thick legs- like beyonce’s shape, j-lo’s butt or ashanti’s legs. I have never heard no one around my way saying nicole or paris or mary-kate and asley looked hot. I’m just saying.

#92 I’m surprise you got a husband….you sound really bitter and hateful….follow him..he’s on the DL girl….with a fat woman….or a fat man.
Not everyone was made to be a size 1 or 24….we have to learn to accept that and stop dogging people about things they can’t change (ie. not the greedy people or the obseesively thin people)
People who are being nasty to others because of their physical self are really insecure…
I like the style of Nicole/her stylist whatever…I think she’s a naturally thin person.

BLACKBEAUTY

Please chill!!! Who says you have to be a size 5 or below. Some white women would kill to have a Black woman’s curvy figure whereas some black women would kill to be skinny. It is not written anywhere that you have to be a size 5. And just so you know, designer clothes do come in sizes above 5. If you wear a size 6 in the Gap, you may need at 8 in Armani but they do come in larger sizes.

I dig the clothes. I love how some of the pieces are timeless. Now on to some of the ignorant people who have issues with weight. The Mz with comment 92, you won’t have that body forever. As your body matures it will change unless you never eat! And sweetie you can be unhealthy and be skinny. Look @ Karen Carpenter who died trying to be thin. I know thicker people who are healthier than skinny people. U better hope you don’t gain weight because it sounds like your husband won’t love the way you look!!!!

Wow, you wrote that a size 5 and under is what all women should strive to be.

Dang, that is pretty much the most ignorant thing that I’ve read all day.

And who cares what sizes the designers stop at, that doesn’t make them the authority on what’s right.

Look at some of today’s top designers, most of them are gay men.

I mean, why would you even pay attention to what a gay man thinks about a woman’s body?

And the ones that are female are not all under a size 5.

**SMH**

This is the reason why we have people like Nicole Ritchie. The girl looks like an 80-year-old midget.

Her ribs stick out, her skin is saggy.

But as long as the clothes fit, then it’s alright, huh?

Its ashame what a lot of people think is acceptable and attractive.

I LOVE her style. She is one of the few celebs that I see and WOW! She is so adorable! Her style is very Japanese in my opinion. She looks just like the cute little anime girls. I have lived in Japan for some time so I can appreciate her look. She is also black - not a “skinny white girl” like some people say. Her actual parents are white, latino, and black and she grew up black a well. I am the same height and a size 00 and I can rock the same looks.

I am not anorexic. I eat all day long and cook all of my food at home and eat organic fruits and vegetables. Just don’t have cookies at home and you can be thin.
