TAYE DIGGS: “YOU CAN’T MAKE EVERYBODY HAPPY..”

Monday, December 18, 2006

tayed.jpg
Taye Diggs and wife Idina Menzel back in April

Last week, Taye Diggs’ TV series “Daybreak,” was cancelled due to low ratings. Rumor has it that African-American women refused to support the series because Diggs’ love interest wasn’t black. Their lack of support was instrumental in the numbers being down and the show getting the boot.

Well I actually watched “Day Break” and it wasn’t all that to tell you the truth. Just like one of the people said in the interview, Taye Diggs is corny as hell and I could care less who he is married to. Maybe the show sucked, and deserved to be cancelled. I’ve seen better shows get the boot.

Anyway….

Last month he sat down with Rolling Out magazine to talk about why black woman are more accepting of the “Will Smith” & “Denzel” types:

“What [black women] were happy about was that [Mendes’ character in Hitch] wasn’t white; she was Latina,” Diggs explains when asked why Will Smith’s role in the film didn’t draw as much cultural ire as some of the choices he’s made on- and off-screen. “That’s what they were happy about, if we’re gonna be real. That’s how the scale goes. First off, if it’s a dark brother and the dark brother isn’t with a dark sister that causes issues. … After that, if you’re going to date outside the race, then they go down the list of how poorly other minorities have been treated after blacks. [So] after that, you have Latino. … Like, I’ve had people say that about my wife: ‘At least she looks Spanish.’ Like that makes it a little bit better. So that’s why people accepted it. If Will Smith had been with a lily-white woman, it would’ve been a completely different situation in the black community as far as females are concerned. I guarantee you that.” [SOURCE]

Here is when he got a little attitude when the interviewer asked him about his white wife:

“I’m too far along in my life and in my career to really give a question like that any type of dignified answer,” says Diggs, who was raised in black, middle-class Rochester, N.Y., intones. “When I was in high school, maybe. College, maybe. But I’m a grown-ass man and if people have a difficult time dealing with that, then I welcome them to see a movie with Omar Epps or Denzel Washington or some of those other brothers that have chosen to spend the rest of their lives with sisters, as you say. I just don’t have time for it. You can’t make everybody happy. And for the fans that are out there that are into me; they don’t really give a f— what’s going on with my personal life.” [SOURCE]

I’m sure this will spark debate, but yall better settle down with this one.

If the white man was going to determine whether or not black people would keep their voting rights based on this thread, it wouldn’t be a good look, lol. How can ya’ll be trusted to pick the demon that’s gonna bomb Muslim countries relentlessly for the next 4 years if you can’t even be trusted to read a two page article before denouncing Taye Diggs and his alleged “hatred of black women”, lol. 99% of the people obviously didn’t even read the excerpt, much less the article where the “journalist” race-baited Taye Diggs and at no point did he disrespect 1)black women 2)any other black male actor 3)himself. All he basically said was “to each his own”. Once again, it was a good study in the anger and resentment of a percentage of black women though, most of whom applaud Halle Berry and Kerry Washington, lol. Keep in mind, I believe that he definately has issues with black women but that article is not the place to castigate him.

I’m embarassed for black people that a caucasian, #342, had one of the most forthright and precise analyses of the black community and what it really takes to change the situation that we’re in. That post is an accurate reflection of how your oppressor views black people, lol. That’s the same type of caucasian that’ll joke with you at the coffee machine about the Yankees or some shit, lmao. He’s too smart to say that stuff to a negro’s face though because black people have become like children, they throw tantrums when you’re honest with them, lol. No disrespect to the people that tried to come against that caucasian but YOU ALL GOT DEMOLISHED. Simple as that. Ya’ll tried to sound intelligent but your rebuttals just read like children trying to articulate their tantrums at an abusive parent rejecting them, lmao. Black people are so overly emotional and concerned about caucasians and making them feel comfortable that it’s pathetic. Even a caucasian stepped up with some honesty (for a change) and told you as much. Once again, #342, I thought that your post was beautifully composed and easy to be understood by those with understanding. You systematically cut apart that person’s and all the other people’s “argument”. Black people bitch and complain about racism when it suits them, they march and picket behind “leaders” that are in the white man’s pocket, and then they forget about it all when they get bought off. The worst of all, like #342 said, they refuse to acknowledge the “root of the problem”. I also love what you said about there being no change without confrontation. There is not one moment in the history of the planet earth that an oppressed people attained any form of respect by appealing to their oppressor. It’s amazing that a caucasian can see what’s going on but you have certain black pseudo-intellectuals on this site that talk about a “nation-wide” educational program for blacks, lmao.

BTW, #342, I’m happy that you’re happy that you’re not black and man/woman enough to say it, lmao. I hope you make more comments in the future.

I have just read this and i gotta say, this blog must really have the dumbest readers in the whole blogosphere!

Where in the hell does it say in the interview that blk women are responsible for his show being cancelled?

Angel LA, how the hell you gonna keep allowing this kinda bufoonery to continue? Step up & correct yourself if you got the least amount of integrity…Taye had every right to cop an attitude when the interviewer puts those stupid questions to him. … WTF!!!

Judah
at the end of every sentence, please spare us the LMAO. because what you posted failed to make a point on eith side of the argument. and nothing that you said was funny

i don’t understand why caucasions and other ‘black intellect’ have this desire to track the progress of a group of people who have, by circumstance, came a mightly long way since the enslavement of our ancestors, which, if you look on a timeline, was yesterday. we have came a long way. there is no comparisons that need to be made with caucasions, a group of people who are thriving these days by old money. don’t, please don’t try to compare two groups of people who have, and will never will have, anything in common, will never have a common ground or playing field.

its amazing how, by posting online, that you are so excited about your choice to have a side in the argument. “I’m embarassed for black people that a caucasian, #342, had one of the most forthright and precise analyses of the black community and what it really takes to change the situation that we’re in.” We’re in? Excuse me? We. And then you go on to say, “your opressor” - pick a side. Anonymous website blogger. You can’t have it both ways.

You find pleasure in the power to pick a side and then insult the black community with “YOUR oppressor.” There was nothing in his posts that makes me beleive that he has a solution for the situation that “i’m in, you’re in?” I don’t know- and you don’t have a clue either. And if you beleive that the post was typed by a white person, who is cowardly enough to type in ONline, and would never say it to a black man’s face. Then you should scroll up and read the posts again.

about sounding intelligent? please. Some of us who don’t have to prove anything to a white man or woman, wouldn’t really be concerned with trying to sound a certain way on an online blogging site. It’s really not that serious.

and I understand that taye may have issues with black women, but that’s his own personal issue and he failed to provide a dignified response, unlike his peers who would have been a little more graceful with their responses.

black women don’t have to take the blame for the failure of his show, nor take the heat for any of a black man’s issues.

instead of speaking about the suppossed resentement and anger in black women, we need to talk about the absence of black men, in universities, at home, in businesses and politics.

Whomever said seeing black men date white women, I remeber the number, but Would you feel the same if Taye Diggs was white and he married a black women???
I dont understand how black women say their ‘hearts break’ when they seen a black man with a white women, being what he said was ignorant and wrong, but at the same time I see nothign wrong with a black man with a white women or visvers, its 2006 and about to be 2007 people need to realize we live a international country and world, blks and blks, white and whites, etc etc marry outside their race now, its just a part of reality and time, if you cant accept it now, then you will have a hard time in life.

I don’t have a problem wit Taye Diggs and his white wife. I am Nigerian-American :) and my boyfriend is an Italian that makes Brad Pitt look ethnic. So interracial relations is NOT an issue for me. that being said, Taye Diggs is NOT my fav’rite actor, the only things I have seen with him in it are “Stella” and “Best Man” and even then, it wasn’t so much him, as the entire cast, story line and so on. plus, Black women are NOT enough of an influence on ANYTHING in the US.A that we can get a show cancelled. If we were, Between brothers would still be on the air (y’all remember that show?) Taye, your prejudices are showing, dearie…

black men want to think that we have a problem with them dating easy ass white women- but the problem we have with them is their irresponsibility as humans.

i agree with the post that says that are ABSENT from a lot of responsibilites. therefore, we have a low opinion about them.

Why is this about black women watching the show? I’m sure there are plenty of black men who could relate. I guess the ratings were still low. Sorry Taye. We should not be expected to watch something we cannot relate to.

Why pick on the sisters that may not have supported the show, Taye? What about other races of people who didn’t want to see you with a woman that was not of your own race? Or what about straight-up racists who didn’t want to see your ass on-screen?

um…didnt even realize Taye was married to a white woman. The stuff was dumb and it had no room for growth. How long was he gonna live the same day for 10 seasons? BORING!!! Half the show was wasted on them having to recap the fact that he was in the same day. The show was doomed to fail. Black women were not the sole cause of the shows demise. Were we the target audience for that show? Cause it doesn’t seem like it.

I think Taye is just looking for excuses. Can’t blame me this time Brotha

Blah blah blah. Who cares if his love interest isn’t black his show simply sucked.

And is it that serious if someone dates outside their race?? why are some ppl always so threatened by that?? I’m just wondering. I guess maybe because I’m interracial I dont see it that way. My mom is Chinese & Latina and my dad is Arab… and ever since my sibling and I were little my parents always told me be proud of who you are and never judge someone by the color of their skin, love them from the inside out. I’m seriously glad they instilled those values in us. I’ve been dating a black guy for 4 years and black girls talk alot of shit about it for some reason & alot of them choose to dislike me simply because I’m dating “their” man— TRUE STORY. “You need to date someone closer to your race & leave our men alone blah blah blah.” I don’t care what anybody says… we’re both intelligent and goal oriented and treat each other with respect and I honestly think thats all that should matter. He could be green for all I care and I would still date him.

Taye Diggs works hard to disassociate himself from his jamaican roots but everything he does shows it.
Using black american women to get where he wants to go, and then abandoning and showing his hateful nature after he thinks he’s ARRIVED is typical jamaican. Eventhough raised in NY he’s still a jamaican and he’s going down just like the rest. Good riddance. I wouldn’t go see nothing he makes, not even a commercial. He doesn’t want to star opposite a black american women because he’s too hateful to share the limelight with the people who helped him get where he is. LOSER

Fcuk that shnit!! the show was garbage and that’s his fault. He knows he s wrong for blaming just Black women for the show being cancled. Alot of people obviously didn’t watch his show because, real talk, look at his competition: Lost, Grey’s Anatomy(which has an interracial couple btw), Ugly Betty, the nine and Desperate Housewives. Do you think that a show about a man that lives eveyday over is going to surpass the competion. Open your eyes taye taye cuz yo azz got played, next!!!

I was in Taye Diggs’s graduating class at The School Of The Arts here in Rochester, NY. I would like to set the record straight. At the time I knew him, Taye was always a perfect gentleman. He did not “start shit” with anyone. He was a very talented actor/dancer, and I am so proud of him and happy that he has had so much success in his life!

I cannot believe all this hate spewing from this blog/board. I am biracial (black and white), and I have always been upset by ignorant people - of any race - who can’t see past skin tone.

I am saddened that the interviewer wasn’t capable of writing a more substantial piece; one that wasn’t tainted with race baiting questions. Taye was speaking from his experiences dealing with specific individuals, not everyone under the sun. I can imaging that he (as would anyone) would be defensive about his personal life, especially after receiving serious threats to his family’s safety. For people on this board/forum to not have more compassion is reprehensible!

And it should also be noted that his life is his own; no one else’s. He must make life decisions that are right for him, and not worry about the “haters”, as they must not love their own lives. God Bless him and his beautiful wife! May they have many more years of happiness and success!

We are all human, we are all the same. We all bleed red blood, we all turn to dust when we are returned to this earth. Please, don’t forget the past - instead learn from it, and help make our future brighter. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Man I couldn’t read through all 1 million comments but did anyone ever think whites wouldn’t support it because its a black man fucking a white woman.

I always hear people getting mad at black people for not liking white women, you think white women like black women dating their men? Or you think white men like seeing black men dating white women?

Only difference is if they open their mouth they are labeled racists and we aren’t so we talk about it all the time. I am sure if whites had the freedom to speak about interracial relationships without sounding racist they would.

Taye is corny….the end.

I don’t hate on Robin Thicke for his fine ass black wife because he isn’t corny and damn if I ain’t humming “lost without you” right now. LOL Rob you my Nigga and so underrated.

Facts:
Taye is lame

If you are black and date white people (real white people, not thuggard whitington who grew up in the hood) you are corny. Ever think that black person is corny like Taye and that’s their only option, damn corny niggas need love too!

Good black brothers/sisters can find other good black brothers/sisters to marry…it really isn’t that hard. I am in college and I rarely see hood chicks or lazy ass niggas…get some new friends to hang around.

@#380

My objective was not to “get into the argument” so I really don’t know what the hell you’re talking about. Anybody who’s seen my posts know my stance on the black community and what we need to do, so negro please. Honestly the only intelligent thing that you said in your post was that you don’t know the solution for the black community. Good admission, that means that you should be quiet sis. That’s the biggest problem in the black community; too many negroes that don’t have shit to say but want to be heard. Sit your ass down and be quiet.

It’s obvious that the caucasian ripped everyone that tried to debate him/her to shreds because he/she spoke plainly as opposed to the normal politically correct bullshit modern-day blacks and whites speak. “I’m all for black on black love, but I’m for interracial dating also…”. What?!! Make up your fuckin’ mind you idiots. The black women that say that are usually the angriest ones, lol.

You know what’s funny though sis, you’re so intelligent that you were too smart to read the excerpt or the article where in no way, shape, or form did Taye Diggs blame black women for the show being cancelled b/c it was cancelled 3 weeks after the interview genius, lol.

I’ll go out on a limb and say that you’ve probabbly already done more than your share of talking about the black man not being in politics, universities, jobs, etc. I bet that if black men started to assume power in this society many people that claim to support black men would take it as a threat and try to sabotage them (already happens, lol). Many people like to have someone to feel better than. Hypothetically speaking, if black men did wake up one day and excel as a group, many black women wouldn’t have anyone to blame when shit goes bad. NO MORE MARY J. BLIGE, lol. Not to burst your bubble, but you or no other woman is qualified to tell or teach the black man how to be a man or what a real man is because most of ya’ll don’t know. The black man will have to wake up and figure that shit out on his own as the Most High continues to afflict him. Good luck to you.

It is unfortunate that Mr. Diggs feels the way that he does regarding what he perceives to be the views of African American women. First of all, I am offended that he feels that he can be a spokesperson for black women.

I personally liked the show, and until his recent comments about his misguided views on black women, I shall reconsider supporting him in the future.

It is true many people on both sides of the race coin will continue to have a problem with interracial cou-ples. It is an unfortunate state of affairs. The question should now become how do you make the situation better? The answer, I feel, lies in being tolerant of difference.

“Every individual is a collection of his or her experiences.”

I just hope he realizes that you cannot generalize the thoughts and views of black women, individuals are, after all, diversified.

I don’t not agree with black men dating white women. Because it’s done in such a large volume there is a back lash in regards to black women. We are seen by everybody else as weak, bottom choice, unattractive, useless….Our own men don’t want us so what does that say to the rest of society????I guess if the shit was more balanced with white men dating more sistas it would’nt be a big stare issue. I’m sure all black women feel like shit when we go into a resturant or club and all the brothas be with white girls. I walk in and everybody be staring at me, wtf??In California it is out of hand.

Sooner or later we will have no choice but to date men outside our races.

Please do not diss my comment I’m speaking personally from how I feel everyday in the Bay Area. Look deeper into your souls black women and I’m sure a lot of you have the same kinds of stories. Pretty soon our race will be non-existant (black females) and “mixed” will be the new black.

Just curious, does anyone know or heard of another county where black women are respected?

Typical!! blame the black women when your shit don’t go right….just like the typical black man when he’s involved with some heifer of another race; put the blame of their demise on black women and it has absolutely nothing to do with us. The truth of the matter is that black women really don’t give a two cents shyt who black men date as long as they treat us with respect but nooooooo, some of those bastards gotta spread hate and disrespect towards us to convince themselves that they made a “good choice” by being with someone outside of their race…what the fuck ever!!

I saw the show and his acting along with everyone on it was HORRIBLE!!…and that chic he had as a love interest is just like your typical interracial relationship, they automatically believe that the black man is guilty if the evidence looks even a little convincing…weak azz heifers!! If dating or marrying someone outside of your race is your choice, then do you but don’t be down on your own race of women just because of your choice….

I saw the previews for the show and it did’nt catch my eye, but yall gotta realize it could be something personal to the reason why he dates white women…Taye Diggs is in his early 30’s, Wesley Snipes is in his early 40’s these are dark skin brothers so I know they grew up in the late 70’s and 80’s when at that time dark skin brothers was not popular, it was when Michael Jordan and Wesley Snipes came out in the 90’s is when dark skin brothers got play and Morris Chestnut made it official, now all sisters want is a dark skin brother, but these guys went through being called “Black”, “Choco” “Smutty Black” “Jiggaboo”, So it might be an personal thing with these brothers like “Ok when i was nothing you sisters was’nt checking for me and now that I’m in movies and on T.V now you wanna holla, naw I’m going to get me a white girl or an asian and that’s what Taye Diggs and Wesley Snipes have, so I think it’s personal….Look at Halle Berry she’s dating a white boy and I think that’s out being shitted on by 2 dumbass black dudes (Eric Benet~David Justice), but and I mean this when i say this..Not all black men are pieces of shit, Me and millions of black men cherish our sisters…

I signed up just to post: I give no thought to the race shit-y’all straight dumbing down on that topic, like we really homogeneous. My point is this: NONE of you are looking at the big picture. Why can’t we have a Black male lead role prime time? Why does every nigger gotta be just a fucking comedian or a puppet for the US army? Thats what the majority of these post consist of “satire”. I support any bro that tried to get it popping on a serious life or death note, where his character is working outside the system or blurring the lines because thats closer to my reality than the fresh prince, waynan bros or jamiie fox shows.Taye diggs show was at best good for a 2 part mini series, but he was a dummy, lacked resourcefulness and possessed no charisma-shit was a dud after wk2.

Pam you probably did not hang with the same group we hung with but I tell you the truth when I say this. Of course he was not loud and obnoxious with his disproval of black girls dating outside our race but he definately would give these couples “the look” and make off handed remarks in the presence of me and my cousin.

My cousin could deal with him I guess and I don’t hate the guy, but I’ve always thought of him a bit conceited and proud. I don’t care that he is married to a white woman. What I do not agree with is the fact that he will use this(and add ONLY black women in the equation) as a way to justify any failure that he has in his career. I call him hypocritical only because of his attitude about interacial relationships(of black girls) in the past. PEOPLE SOMETIMES SHOW THEIR TRUE COLORS WHEN THEY FEEL COMFORTABLE TO DO SO. He felt cool with us at the time,so he didn’t mind us knowing this side of him.
When I heard he married a white woman I was pleasantly surprised but if I was his wife, I would feel a bit resentful about him using me as a scapegoat for his problems.
Honestly the show got very little promo time and that’s probably why it didn’t do good. I’ve seen his past movies and I must admit the roles that were given to him seemed like they should have been given to different actors.(Like someone had posted earlier, I could not see him blowin’ out Nia Longs ‘back’ in The Best Man). I could see him playing the role of a professor or mabye a humanitarian in Sudan in one of those Sundance type movies.
He’s just not the sexy actor type to me.

Taye Diggs should be ashamed of himself. Crap is crap. Any body regardless of race can pinpoint crap blindfolded. No one is going to watch a show where the main character repeats the same day over again through an entire season; no one wants to watch a poor reiteration of Groundhogs Day. Instead of blaming us he needs to blame the writers, the network for poor marketing, and his shoddy acting ability. How dare he compare himself to Will and Denzel. Will and Denzel possess a star quality that exceeds color lines and he will never come close. Furthermore, the majority of films and projects that made Taye Diggs famous were for black audiences; such as, The Best Man, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, and The Wood. Oh I see T.D. you use us to get your foot in the door so you can have a stable base of fans but blame us when precious white America doesn’t accept you. Dig this Taye, once you realize that your acting skills are horrible and do something to change that you are going to see a lot more career lows.

WOW! This issue has really gotten under the skin of the sisters. It’s funny how no one was concerened with Taye Digg’s white wife when he was hot in How Stella Got Her Grove Back. Black women everywhere were running to see the movie and saying how fine Taye Diggs was as Winston. Not until a few years ago when he started showcasing his wife more did he start receiving all the hatred from the black community, especially from black women. Taye Diggs is not the first black actor to marry a white woman, and he won’t be the last. I understand now why so many brothers are dating outside their race.

first of all if the show is wack then the show is wack, no ifs ands or buts about it. I don’t know about other people but if a show is corny i’m not gonna watch it, I have better shows to look at, im not gonna run to watch datbreak just beacause a black man is on it, when i could be watching greys anatomy, lost, 24, prison break, desperate housewives, the list goes on. Obviously his acting was not up to par, and instead of blaming people he needs to get to some acting classes, and try too perfect his craft before he is living in a cardboard box with his wife, and then lets see if shell stay with him then. LOL

Taye Diggs is an idiot. How dare he blame black women for his shows failure.

I am a black woman married to a white male. I would never put brothers or the black community down in an effort to justify my interracial marriage. I’ve dated men of several races and my husband just happened to be the one I fell in love with. Men like Taye usually marry outside their race to try to prove something. I see it all the time. My husband and I can be out in the mall with the kids, all of a sudden I get the dirty looks, the rolling of the eyes, etc… Guess what, it’s usually from black men who are hugging up on some white woman… LOL go figure! There are 2 types of people in interracial relationships. The first type are those that don’t see color as an issue or an asset; they just date whomever strikes their fancy. The second kind are the Tayes and the Whoopies. The second kind feels obligated to diss the black community - especially black woman. Usually referring to black woman as mean, ghetto, or attitude prone. How stupid. These are the self hating asses who blame “blacks” for everything wrong in their lives. Hey Taye, your show sucked…get over it. Don’t blame me for it being cancelled. And for the record, your not such a hot actor to begin with…

On another note…
I was honestly a bit pissed off that his love interest in the show was white. Why? Because every show that stars at least one black male always pairs him up with a non black female. Yet, how often do you see a black female on prime time television, being paired up with a white male? When Ross on friends dated Gabtrielle Union, that was axed quicker than you can snap two fingers.

Lets face it. Society puts white women on some stupid pedistal. They are taught when they were young, that they are the most beautiful creatures in the world and that all men should and will desire them. That is why so many white woman put the evil eye on me when they see me with my husband. I’m a brown skin, 6ft tall black chick, with a big boodie, big boobs, and thick lips. They look at my tall, blond blue eyed hubby like he is crazy. I guess it blows their minds that he didn’t choose one of them.

Some black men feel in order to get back at black women and to get back at white men…marry or date white women. How Silly.

A good spouse is a good spouse, no matter what color their package happens to be. Turn out the lights and we are all black.

Did Taye Diggs actually say “My show got canceled because black women weren’t watching it because they hate me because I’m married to a white woman?” Is this what he said or what the media spun?

It’s just too bad that we can’t treat each other with the respect we’re forever wanting from white people.

First of all can we stop saying the word different race, we are all one fucking human race….different ethnic groups yes, different race no. Second of all, if black folks would stop worrying about what other black folks are doing and took care of themselves this topic would not even exist. The fact that a black man/woman dates or marries someone from a different ethnicity has nothing with rejection of his/her people. It has to do with where you at. If I live in a neighborhood that is mixed there is a possibilty that I might get invovled with someone who happens to not be well of my ethnicity. Same goes for anything else. Now as far as proffessional educated folks are concerned. As a black educated man of 28, who went to college has a degree in engineering and am somewhat financial secure, refuse to hook up with anything less. AT my current place of employment, I am the only brother in my dept and youngest. And to boot there are no sistas. I have a lot of white girsl my age, but no sistas. Now if I became involved with one of them it has nothing to do with rejecting sistas but it has to do with a my future as far as agina stability is concerned, mental growth, happiness and ultimately love(not exactly in that order. This very issue is tyhe same for successful sistas who struggle to make it to the top only to find dead weight brothers who want to occupy their space. It’s not haapeing whihc is why there are many succesful single black women out there. Racism is racism people let’s get over it. The reality of it is we can’t blame white folks of today for shit that white folks did to blacks eions ago. Most of the white folks that blacks hook up with aren’t even descendants of former black owners. Now with that said, I am a fan of Taye DIggs, I think he makes good movies and regardless of what, just like Will Smith on Will Smith, the characters that Taye portrayed were an honor to blacks because they did not showcase the negative views that society usually have and give blacks. When you look at Kevin Hill, he portrayed a successful black lawyer who was taking care of his cousin’s kid. who gives a rat’s ass if the women he was with in “The Show” were not black. So what….the reality of it is that is on eof the reasons why the show was cancelled. Even the network producers said so. They did not recieve the amonut of viewers that they were expecting. And the funny thing is that I strongly believe that white folks are more tolerant to inter ethnic relations than blacks….get over it…If you dont like that shit than dont do it dont fault someone else who fell in love and did not allow the hate of society come between that….As far as Day break was concerned the first two episodes were cool. But how much of the same scene can one stomach for a month…..The reason for the cancellation of that show can be argued….All and all let’s all love and be loved and move beyond who is doing who and what color they are doing. It’s 2007 soon to be 2008. Love and peace from James, professional black man.

And one last thing, did any of you read the article? If you read the article, you will notice tha the first thing that the author does is apologies because he questioned Taye two minutes within their interview about the ethnicity of his wife…..If oyu continue to read the article you will notice that within quotation marks Taye asking the author/interviewer what made him an expert on the opinion of black women….People before you start to accuse people learn to learn the whole facts and not excerpts of it. Taye himself admits to disliking the show Kevin Hill because it used false advertising to lure people in as far as the show being a “black show”. GET YOUR ACTS RIGTH PEOPLE SO THAT WE CAN MOVE ON

And as for number 348 you are really ignorant…you show nothing but ignorance, discrimating mentally and somewhat racial contempt for your own people by stating that you dont like Taye because he is TOO Black and ugly. Not the ugly part but the TOO BLACK….Why is it that we always have to discern one another via our shade of blackness….oh he too black or he too light or he/she too nappy headed…If you could make statements like that than on the real people like Don Imus has ever fucking right to say nappy headed ho….If you don’t like, if you don’t wanna hear then don’t fucking say it. Because as long as you say that shit then all you are saying is that you embrace and accept it. If you show little or no respect fro yourself dont expect people to do so either…..
