So you missed the fourth season finale of ‘The Wire’ or a couple of other episodes from previous seasons? Well maybe you’ll be able to catch them on BET in the future – the station is running the first two seasons of the hit HBO series starting on January 10th, 2007. Sure it won’t be the same since it wil be highly edited, and you could watch the reruns on the many versions of HBO but, not everyone has that luxury lol.
Plus this is the only way we’ll get to see Idris character anymore… *sniff sniff*
Anyway, some of the cast of ‘The Wire’ caught up last week do a promo shoot for BET.

this is a real good look for bet.
If this show had a white cast then the Oscars would make an exception and ignore the fact that it’s a television series and give it BEST EVERYTHING.
Whatever IT is, this show has IT. It works because it’s totally unpredictable and that’s not a bad thing because you can have a love/hate relationship with all of the characters. So even if they do off your favorite character (THEY BETTER NOT TOUCH SNOOP!!!) there are always other characters that will fill the void for you (OMAR IS THE SHIT!!!)
For those who’s never seen it, it almost plays out like Crash. Like a incident between two characters at a different point in time in a totally different place at a totally different point in the season can do or say something that may appear to be irrelevant at the time, but it can have drastic consequences later on and affect other characters without appearing to be corny or unrealistic. The show plays out how life would play out. It’s not a Cops and Robbers show where it’s the police vs. the corner boys, but a portrayal of that type of life in general from all sides where all sides appear to win here and there, but at the end of the day, all ultimately lose because the crime game is a vicious cycle.

They deserve a lot.
#4….The show would’ve been cancelled if it wasn’t for the fact that HBO don’t care TOO much about ratings since all their viewers pre-pay. It gets the best reviews of any show in history, but people don’t tune in because of the all-Black cast and probably the false assumption that it’s another “hood” show like Boyz N The Hood or Menance II Society. The white people I do know who watch this show love it, not because they can relate, but because it has the best storyline of any show that ever existed and because the characters come off as authentic because they are no-names who can act. You honestly believe someone like Snoop is acting out her real-life.
It’s going to be one of those series that people truly appreciate more in the future when the price of the DVD set comes down. Syndication would help, but BET isn’t broadcasted everywhere.

JD Williams is cute… and true, he makes a cute couple with Sonja Sohn… It’s a bitch that The Wire doesn’t air in Denmark, but I’ve still managed to see some episodes…

The whole cast looks very nice. I LOVE The Wire!!!! I’ve been spreading the word to all of my friends that don’t have HBO to tune in to BET next month.
I NEVER SEEN 1 EPISODE OF THE WIRE, PLUS I’M STATIONED IN GERMANY AND BOUT TO DEPLOY TO IRAQ SO I GUESS I HAVE TO BUY THE DVD’S. BUT I ONLY HEARD GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS SHOW.

I always thought JD Williams was so cute. I thought he was coming out with an album, the way he was in every rap video at one point. I saw Hassan Johnson in an airport once, I should have gotten his autograph.

Wow Sonja looks very pretty. I haven’t watched the wire since the first season, but I remember looking at her and wondering if she was a bull dyke in real life. (Not that there is anything wrong with that). She just plays that role too damn good.

I have been a loyal fan since it’s debut on HBO. This show gave me true insight on the struggles someone go through on a daily basis. When it first started, it showed some raw ass things, even though they have toned it down a bit, this series is still the SHIT. i’m just sad that it took 4 seasons for everybody to finally recognize that the truth was out there…not on BET but on HBO.
This show is the bomb. I recently got hooked on it and I went back ON Demand, and watched the other eposides and I love it and can’t wait for the new season but by the show being on BET they are going to edit the show and it may not be that good because its going to take all the character out the show
I love the wire.It really didn’t matter to me that Bodie got killed off cause he really wasn’t doing anything anyway.But oh how i was so dissapointed when stringer bell got killed off.He was our eyecandy with his fine self.Thank god they didn’t go back to the docks cause that season was whack.Can’t wait until the next season i hope it be even better.

This season was the best. period. And for the record..to #5 Jamie E., the writers based “Snoop’s” character off of her actual life. They even kept her real name for the show, cuz she was really livin that raw. Here partner in death Chris is actually the opposite of his character. Graduate of Bucknell, speaks different languages..etc etc…But Snoop was really in it. ANyway, I cant watch The Wire on BET…without the “realness” of the show, whats the point? Love this website, BTW

I agree, I was watching the movie Baby Boy on BET last night..they took out so much of the language…it just wasnt the same movie. On another note, there was a post on here a week or so ago about Ving Rhames not wanting to kiss a man in a movie…but he sure LICKED Tyrese bald head in Baby Boy….LMAO
I love this show. I had been watching it since 2001. I had to stop watching for a little short minute because it had gotten a little boring. And Is Baltimore considered up north?
Yo I love this show and I have only seen season 4. I was hooked at the first episode this season.
I was hoping they would put Snoop on camera more. That chick is so hardcore. She is the only one on the show that uses her real name as her characters name..hmmmm. Maybe she aint acting at all..lol.
But RIP to my homie Bodie. He was the truth. A real soldier. Somebody pray for Mike killa ass.
One of the best shows on TV… period. The actors are very talented and when they leave, they usually get some pretty decent offers for other projects.
It will give you a look at the show, but you’re better off getting the DVDs because they will have to water it down for BET – and all of that bleeping out and cutting out scenes could get annoying — and confusing.
They disn’t have Snoop and some of the others from this season, because they are starting with season one – most of these actors are from the first season.
Wallace was the best and when his character got killed I was crushed. But when Bodie died it felt like somebody I knew actually got killed thats what you call great acting and writers.
I agree that putting this on BET will getting annoying as hell with all the deleted scenes and bleeps. I think its good for the station to have this type of show but who wants to watch a show where you missing all the good stuff do to censors. The best non-premium channel to put this on would be something like FX. They can pretty much say and do anything on FX and get away with it.

Love this show…since they sent out copies to critics this year (which is why it ended up on bootlegs in the street) maybe it will get the recognition it deserves. these last two seasons were exceptional.
RIP Bodie….so many people can relate to that character drug dealer or not…you put in your work, you keep your mouth shut, and in the end you still get a bullet in the head. that reasonates for a lot of folks, not just on corners!!

The Wire is the best show on HBO.. and Tv.. hands down. I love it and I hope they keep it running for more than just one more year. I too, felt like I knew Bodie, when he got killed! lol I used to love me some Stringer too. I hope Wey Bey gets out of jail next season, and Avon. I love Snoop’s character, she plays that role so well, so it must really be her. This season was one of the best!
Yeah, Michael killed Bodie…it was perfect cause no one knew who he was or saw him coming…same case with the other guy he killed on the corner. Such ashame…I feel bad for him.
Michael didn’t kill Bodie..it was that one skinny dude that they were in the warehouse house with when they were “quizing” them boyz on how to take someone out!
Sonja lives an open lesbian life in real life, not just on the show.
Man, this show is off the hook, they kill bodie, they be messin’ with randy, they turn mike into a murderer, damn yo. But I love the show alot, snoop is one crazy chick but she’s good. i hate that the Wire is being done the way it is… it is just as good (better to me) as shows such as the Sopranos which HBO bent over backwards to bring back too many damn times… so whats the difference outside of the fact that this a a show predominantly full of black actors/actresses and showing the urban side of life… i love the realities it brings… the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND movement is a crock and what they show you is the reality behind the school systems… so parents please pay soo much attention to your schools… get involved…

I absolutely love this show. This past season was the best season yet. I cant get enough of this show but I am not happy about Stringer being gone and now Bodie. Those two sexy black men are so fine to me. I cant wait to see how the Micheal character turns out in 2008 (why, why, why HBO). Brilliant show they will always get my support.
