So you missed the fourth season finale of ‘The Wire’ or a couple of other episodes from previous seasons? Well maybe you’ll be able to catch them on BET in the future – the station is running the first two seasons of the hit HBO series starting on January 10th, 2007. Sure it won’t be the same since it wil be highly edited, and you could watch the reruns on the many versions of HBO but, not everyone has that luxury lol.
Plus this is the only way we’ll get to see Idris character anymore… *sniff sniff*
Anyway, some of the cast of ‘The Wire’ caught up last week do a promo shoot for BET.

The Wire is a great show. I have been hooked since the first season. Because BET has to edit out most of the violence and language the show will not be the same but maybe it will get more people interested in watching The “REAL” Wire on HBO.
The show is fantastic and heartbreaking. If this show doesen’t get nominated for Emmys this year, there is something truly wrong in Hollywood.
White Hollywood aint ready for something so real. Most Americans do not want to recognize that we got problems here in the US not just in Africa, Iraq, etc.
BTW, a white guy turned me on to The Wire in the first season and I have been hooked every since. I even got my husband hooked.
I heard that the show wasnt returning until 2008, why we have to wait soo long. We dont have to wait for the stale ass Sapranos, Curb your Enthusiasm , or Entrouage. All subpar shows copmpared to The Wire.
Does anyone remember JD Williams from when he was on ‘Oz’ on HBO?
He was/is so cute!!

Michael DIDN’T kill Bodie because Chris specifically said he first kill shouldn’t be someone he knew. Plus if he killed Bodie, why would he be all in “shock” at the end when riding in the car after he killed that one dude we can all verify? The person who killed Bodie was a expert, Michael was still being guided and nutured after his first kill.
I love Bodie too, but he really didn’t have no role this season and they gave him a lot of respect by how he was killed. He died like a soldier. He wasn’t dragged to no vacant and shot execution style of whatever. How he died was very similiar to Scarface.
As as the producers stated, they’re not going to get caught up in characters dictating the story, but remain true to the story dictating the characters. It was past time for another lead character to die, and Bodie was the perfect candidate as he had no ambition or drive to be a “boss” and there was nothing that could be said or done to have him get off the corners. They could either drag him along to either kill Chris, Snoop or Marlo at some point (which would be unrealistic as it’d make him out to be larger than what he actually is by doing what the cops and other corner bosses can’t do) or kill him off to focus on the development of other characters.
After Stringer got killed out of no where (you seen it coming, but you had no idea it was going to happen at that moment), there is nothing else that surprises me about the show.
once again there is a year hiatus and the show will be back in 2008 that is NOT a rumor..Barksdale(Wood Harris) is in negotiations to come back to take on Marlo and get the corners back..If that happens count on 2008 being the last season..it can’t go any further..all the key players are gone
On his corner, Bodie’s having a slow night, along with Poot and Spider, who is now working the corner. When Poot alerts him to Chris approaching, Bodie refuses to leave. “This is my corner. I ain’ runnin’.” He fires at the cars Snoop and Chris are ducking behind, as Poot pleads with him to run. Unable to convince Bodie to flee, Poot finally runs for cover, passing a young hooded boy – O-Dog, one of Snoop and Chris’s trainees – who creeps up to Bodie and shoots him in the head. Bodie falls to the ground and is finished with a second shot to the head. He lays there dead, as O-Dog jogs off to join his mentors.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE SHOW…. I MISSED THE SEASON FINALE LAST WK THO…. ILL GET IT ON RE-RUN .

Why is BET still a station? I don’t respect it anymore. It’s played, kinda. I wish they would get someone who knows how to pick projects correctly to work on it. I was once proud to say that was a Black-Owned station, but now….*SMH*
Who is stringer was he in the first previous seasons and how do u find it on “on Demand”
where you been Taj The Photographer … BET is not a black owned station anymore … Bob Johnson sold it to viacom a couple of years back

The Wire is the best thing on television right now and reflects the best writing, acting and directing, the likes of which we haven’t seen in a very long time. I hate the fact that we are only going to get one more season but it will be well worth the wait, I am sure. We are addicted around here–how could you not be when the story lines continue to leave you speechless (Bubbles and poor Sherrod; Randy’s foster mom and Dukie ending up on the corner). I only hope that casting directors have paid attention to these talented actors and that we will see them in other roles in the future.

I LOVE the Wire. #1 best show on TV, and I don’t even watch TV. I’m so sad Bodie got killed off, he really was a soldier. And I guess he would be labelled a snitch if he said anything, but its true, what they did to Kevin was foul. I don’t know whats gonna happen to Mike, he’s prolly gonna take over Marlo’s spot. And poor Dookie, back on the corners cuz the school system did him wrong! And I can’t even speak on Randy….so sad. He’s gonna come outta that group home a MAN (if he comes out alive). I met JD Williams in Miami this year. It was during Spring Break and he hollered from his car. I didn’t know who he was fully cuz I just got the Wire here in Canada. But he was so nice and cute. Short tho….

good bet is picking it up even though it’s going to be chopped and screwed up heavy. especially the scene in season one with bunk and mcnulty where the only word spoken is fuck.
By the way, JD WILLIAMS is definitely gettin’ his grown-and-sexy on in that first picture. LOVES IT!
Unfortunately, BET will edit the hell out of the shows. But it is available On Demand (HBO), so if y’all haven’t seen it, don’t deprive yourselves any longer! It’s amazing TV!
I love the Wire, I have watched from day 1. My husband and I Tivo it everyweek. I hate that Bodie was killed off, he was one of my favs… And of course Stringer Bell was the truth!
I’m glad Bodie got killed. I’ve been waiting on that shit for about 3 years, because he killed Wallace. so, he got what he deserved!
As happy as I am about this, I hate the fact that almost every word will be bleeped out, or another word that doesn’t fit will be put in the place of the original word.
Sonja looks so gorgeous..that red lipstick is a killer…I love me some JD Williams…him and HASSAN LAWD they have that NY SWAGGER that I love! Im mad as hell that they killed my boy Bodie!! And it was a stupid little scenario too…I could’ve sworn he was going to go into protective custody or something….as far as BET…its ok I guess…I just wonder how they are going to do it, with all the murder and cursing they do?? You cant bleep the entire show…BUT on the other hand…its good that the people that dont have cable get just a taste of what the Wire is…its the same thing I felt with Soul Food..and Im mad as hell they are taking that oFF! You cant even buy Soul Food the Series on DVD besides the 1st season! I hate how they do black shows…you can buy every season of FRIENDS but you cant find every season of Living Single..Soul Food..Moesha…etc etc…Its a dam shame!

The only thing about it coming to BET is that they will most likely throw in COMMERCIALS and EDIT the FOUL LANGUAGE. To me that takes away from the show. But since I never caught the past season (only heard about it), I will watch to see what I missed.
I did the same thing with SOUL FOOD the series, because at the time it started airing on SHOWTIME I didn’t have that channel on cable. So I watched the RE-RUNS on BET.
PS: I HATED like hell that they KILLED off “BODIE” as well. But I figured they would get him for his little “tantrum”.

It’s wack that wey-bey got life bodie is dead stringer is dead and d’angalo is a snitch who put wey-bey in. but snoop and chris need to die soon real soon…. they just to messed up like 2 joe pesci’s…n joe pesci always dies at the end i hope poot can handle it from there cuz him and bodie since season one
