But in some cases you have a situation where a musical relationship is developed with a person, where an artist and producer combine sounds a little. In some stuff I read about Amerie, Rich Harrison was her mentor. Her first album was the first full album he even produced. They helped each other out.. So I mean if you create a sound with someone, you are thinking “I am putting my mark on the music industry”. I mean that is one of the reasons Brandy said she quit working with Darkchild because they created a sound together and then next thing you know she hearing songs that sound like hers that he produced all over the place. I like the song, it’s very funky! Amerie always brings something fresh with the beat and instruments. People are so used to hard beats and thumping bass lines that they cannot appreciate horns and guitar licks.

That being said, the song isn’t radio friendly and it isn’t catchy like One Thing was. She’s taking a gamble, but I appreciate the effort from her.

I agree with you! You dumbass Beyonce praisers need to shut the fuck up! Amerie is not trying to be Beyonce in any way. Amerie has her own sound, style, and sexiness. She looked great the way she moved in front of the camera. She is a very beautiful human being inside and out. Amerie is a very unique singer who spends time writing her own material, producing, and she has an amazing voice. How many young singers of today can sing as good as she can?

Plus, if Amerie couldn’t sing, she wouldn’t be able to hit any type of notes. She actually uses her vocal cords on a record. Amerie is very different and respected by her fans because of her art for music. But, you all who doubt her don’t realize that because you haven’t followed her since All I Have and got to know who she really is. Anyway, I love the song, it grew on me, and the video is very clever and her dancing is nice. She can move, some movements were alittle awkward but she has proven that she can dance in 1 Thing and Touch.
