Here is the new Amerie video, and let’s just say I’m not feeling this song at all. Amerie definitely brings a different feel with her music, but I just don’t like this track, so it made it hard for me to even finish watching the video. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m still a fan of hers..
According to Wikipedia, she produced this track with Cee-Lo (Goodie Mob & Gnarls Barkely) and is expected to drop her third album sometime next year. So be on the look out for new tracks, you know we’ll have them to you first.

Personally, I like the video, but I have to agree wtih #4, how come she had to pick an older gentleman for eye candY? I like her outfits and at the end of the video, it did remind me a lot of the Pussycat Dolls. Also, she should have released “That’s What You Are” as her next single, even though this song is hot. It’s definitely, imo, a club banger, but that’s what you are is a nice slow romantic ballad more of Amerie’s style.

Yeah, the video goes down hill after that’s what you are. Its much better song and deserves an entire video, not just the first ten seconds. Since her album comes out next year, she still has time to scrap this video.

I would like to see Amerie do well, but her voice does nothing for me. She hasn’t got the right type of voice to be a solo artist. It’s as if she is trying too hard and the pitch is always the same, which makes most of her songs boring. It’s not really a bad track but just wrong singer.

Her voice sounded very pretty on the little piece at the very beginning. Whenever she has to exert herself vocally, it all goes downhill. The music and beat of the song is fiyah and someone with a better voice could have torn this up. The whole concept of the video was WACK and there was quite a bit of swagger jacking going on. Amerie needs to stick with softer more melodious songs, that’s where she shines.

But in some cases you have a situation where a musical relationship is developed with a person, where an artist and producer combine sounds a little. In some stuff I read about Amerie, Rich Harrison was her mentor. Her first album was the first full album he even produced. They helped each other out.. So I mean if you create a sound with someone, you are thinking “I am putting my mark on the music industry”. I mean that is one of the reasons Brandy said she quit working with Darkchild because they created a sound together and then next thing you know she hearing songs that sound like hers that he produced all over the place. I feel when I hear a beat I want to recognize the producer and not the artist. When I heard some of Beyonce’s stuff I thought Amerie not Rich Harrison. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION.
