There are many terrific films in play for the Oscar season right now. But none has the size and the fun and the revelation of performance that Dreamgirls offers.

They added the song “Listen” to balance out all the attention they knew Jennifer Hudson would receive (which is fair)…although I am kind of mad that they cut out a song that Anika Rose was supposed to sing (it was in the original play). I am trying to let “Listen” grow on me, but I just can’t get with it. Beyonce seems like she’s trying a little to hard, and her voice just isn’t that strong…not as in she can’t sing, but she isn’t singing the notes the way I think they should be sung…just my opinion, not hating. I think that everyone should go see this film because we haven’t had a film like this in years, and I’d rather support a good black movie than one about pimps, hos, bitches, drug dealers, gangsters, and every other negative stereotypes about blacks. *after I watched the CLIPS of the MOVIE I checked out the PICS also, & could not help but notice there were SO MANY pictures with BEYONCE in them while J.HUDSON & ANIKA ROSE were pictured in only about several, with each of them getting about 1 shot a piece with them aa the only female in the pic.
Listen was nowhere in the original play. It was, according to Beyonce in an interview, her idea to add a song that showed “Deena’s growth”. Oddly, Deena is supposed to be a fairly quiet singer, so Listen is totally unusual for the character of Deena.
I just saw a clip of the movie on t.v. and what little I heard of Jennifer Hudson of I am telling you was enough to give me goose bumps that woman could sing. Beyonce does not have a strong enough voice for that song and just listen to her sing Listen she sounds flat that song did nothing for me but put me to sleep. I really hope Jennifer gets an Oscar for this role she plays in the movie.I know it would eat Bey up then she will just brush it off with her fake comments I already have Grammy’s I have proven I can sing.Give me a fucking break.

I just saw the movie and let me tell you guy’s it was off the chain yes, it was the bomb!!! It was definitely all that. Why’s Jennifer not on this cover though, because she WAS, please excuse my french right now but she was a key player and she was fucking super!!! OMG I Loved the music alot of that old stuff in the beginning of the movie had me dancing in my seat. The costumes were superb. Beyonce you looked great you are so talented. I hope you find a man that’s a one woman man, a man that knows what he wants and where he’s going in life and most of all a man that will treat you right like the way a lady of you calibre should be treated.
Make sure your new baby sister Jennifer get’s all the recognition she deserves in any small that you can. She did a great job and played a major part in making the movie into what it is a BIG, BIG, HITTT. It was obvious that she put all her heart and effort into the role she played. It was very powerful.
I just saw the movie and to say that Jennifer Hudson stole the show is an understatement. First of all, she’s clearly the main character. None of the others would have a role, were it not for her. I saw it on Broadway, what a wonderful adaptation, maybe they took the Vanity Fair photo before the reviews came out but I cringe not seeing J. Hudson with the gang. She is the star of the movie and it makes the others like petty and insecure not to have her there, where they had anything to do with it or not. But I have to say Mr. Foxx steals the movie, he gives it a depth and a story arc and really turns it into one man’s tragedy. His last scene is devastating, I guess he won the Oscar last year so they’re not touting him now but, they were all suburb, and Jennifer deserves the praise, but watch Jamies subtlety and intensity. It’s a great American movie any which way you look at it. My 80 year old dad wants to see it again! it’s a classic and let’s not forget the director who keeps the movement, music and pace building every second, he definetly deserves the Oscar.
