I watched the VH1 first episode and honestly this show is kinda cute! I like it….Its not all nasty and filthy like Flavor of Love..or at least it seems decent..

I Love New York is NOT going to be the hit that Flavor of Love was..

Here why:
I watched this ten minute preview of “I love New York,which is a little misleading, because about five minutes of this 10 minute preview is VH1 introducing us to New York by showing us the past two seasons of the Flavor of Love episodes.

I love New York is basically a female version of Flavor of Love…

As I suspected, New York does not have the personality ,charisma or comedic timing to pull this off…

She is not funny or endearing like Flavor Flav..
Flavor Flav has been around for 20 years, and had a built in fan bace from his Public Enemy days.
He well like and well respected in the rap community.
Woman liked him because he was sincere.
Men like him, because he kept it REAL

Both Men & Woman will HATE New York..
She is very obnoxious & arrogant….
The viewer will not feel a sense of compassion for New York in her quest to find the right men..

The sidekick is a “guy” named CHAMO, who describes himself as New York’s Stylist & Personal Assistant…

He is a Homosexual
He is a Very “over the top” person..
His character is suppose to provide the comedy..He does a good job at that..He is funny..

The contestants are a mix of Homo Thugs, Fake Thugs, Sensitive Girly Men & Homosexual looking for their big break on TV…

I didn’t feel a connection to any of the contestments..I suspect that every last one of them have homosexual tendancies based on their reaction to
Chamo, the homosexual sidekick..

There probably will be a LOT of Down Low activity going on it the “I love New York Mansion” in the wee hours of the morning…

I doubt if this show will last the season before being cancelled for lack of viewer interest…

The reason being, New York is not a likable person

In conclusion, If you would like to watch a show which stars a obnoxious, unattractive, Newport Chain Smoking Black Woman, her gay Puerto Rican sidekick who is channeling the spanish female singer,”Charo” (his name is CHAMO..see the connection), and a bunch of Down Low Men who desperatly seeking fame & fortune and will go to any length to get is, including HUMILIATING themselves on WORLD WIDE TELIVISION by acting like a bunch of buffons & effeminate, spinless sissy’s then this is the show for you…

Otherwise,avoid it at all cost

Sorry, but not all straight men hate gay men; even openly gay men. There are some predictors for sexual orientation but whether or not someone is rude to a gay person is among the least reliable.

I never watched Flavor of Love because I rarely watch television and when I heard about it, it sounded like some sort of horrible practical joke. My sisters made me watch a clip on youtube over the holidays and I thought it was hysterical. Straight coonery? Yes, on several levels, but it had an undeniable charm and wasn’t quite as stupid as I’d anticipated. And I thought New York was really funny; bitchy, trashy, surprisingly smart and kind of glamorous in a blowsy “Mae-West” sort of way. I found her incredibly arrogant, and grasping, and rude and almost everything she said or did made me laugh out loud.

I’m not certain if she has enough charisma to make the spin-off a success. I seriously doubt I’ll watch the show to find out. Still, if VH1 is willing to spend the money (even the limited production costs of a reality program) then I’m sure they’ve tested the market and think she’s a good investment. More power to her, I guess.
