Talk about raking in the awards – Jennifer Hudson & Eddie Murphy both snagged SAG Awards last night in Los Angeles. They better keep that trophy case ready, I think those Oscars are going to be next.
Other black stars that walked away with trophies were: Forest Whitaker (Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role; The Last King of Scotland) and Chandra Wilson (Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series; Grey’s Anatomy)

Love it that Eddie and Forrest are finally being recognized for what they do. I have been a big fan of Eddie’s since I was a kid, staying up late and watching him on SNL and begging my Mom to let me watch Delerious, but she said no because it was too much cussing, then she finally gave in and let me watch the part about the “ice- cream”.

Young people, do not listen to the naysayers amongst our people. There are so many of us who have the victims mentality. They will tell you nothings changed, the proverbial “white man” is out to get us. That we’ve made no progress.
I beg to differ. I watch on tv in the 60s, our people being bit by dogs, bludgeoned with nightsticks and water hoses, hung on trees and jailed. All for the right to eat where they wanted, to walk in the front door, to vote.
While racism still exists, and we victimize our own(drugs, degenerate lyrics, and gangs)there has been a tremendous amount of progress made.
These awards are part of it. We have two black head coaches going to the Superbowl. We have many, many black pros, from lawyers to managers, to teachers, etc.,
Look forward young people. Serena Williams won the other day, but said something that disturbed me: She mentioned that some people talk about her as if she couldn’t come back, and that she was too big and out of shape. Why even dignify those people with acknowledgement, fuck ‘em.
