DRAMA @ THE GLOBES: ISAIAH V.S GREY’S ANATOMY

The cast of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ may have left as winners on Monday night, but that didn’t stop them and star Isaiah Washington from being the center of drama the day afterwards:

In the Globes press room on Monday, Washington tried to set the record straight in regards to reports in October of an on-set incident that resulted from the alleged use of a homophobic slur toward co-star T.R. Knight.

After a reporter questioned the validity of the on-set incident, Washington denied his involvement saying, “No, I did not call T.R. a faggot. Never happened, never happened.” VIEW VIDEO OF PRESS ROOM INTERVIEW

So what’s the big deal right? Well, his answer left the cast as well as alot of fans thinking he is an a-hole:

In response to Washington’s use of the slur when addressing the situation last night, [costar Katherine] Heigl spoke out.

“I’m going to be really honest right now, he needs to just not speak in public. Period. I’m sorry, that did not need to be said, I’m not okay with it,” Katherine told Shaun.

Does he sound like an a-hole to you?:

After making his comments in the press room, Washington came straight to Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush and Nancy O’Dell to explain.

“There is no way I could do anything so vile, and so horrible, not only to a castmate, but to a fellow human being,” he insisted…

Washington also said that he and co-star Patrick Dempsey have moved beyond the October incident.

“I kiss Patrick Dempsey. We sing ‘Ebony and Ivory’ everyday since the so-called incident and it hasn’t come up. We purposely sing ‘Ebony and Ivory’ every night since October 9 and nobody has written about it,”
he added.

Can’t we all just get along?

    I agree with 3 and 41
Michael the racist Richards seems to be getting less heat. Using a gay slur is not right but didn’t he apologize already?? Don’t let a a brother mess up boy, I’ll tell ya….

You know, Hollywood hasn’t made it easy for African-Americans to really be able to showcase our skills. Most of the time we are being typcast as whores, pimps, and dirty cops and winning awards for it.

Mr. Washington should know better, and yet, he still has not learned his lesson. With a history of outbursts on different sets he has worked on. They will let him go, for sure. And it will be hard for him to get another part again for sure.

Why wasn’t there the same outrage when Davis (the gay guy) from the Real World called one of his roommates the n-word? MTV didn’t even bleep it out.

okay somebody is definitely lying, please go to youtube and view “T R Knight (of Greys Anatomy) responds to slur” he is on Ellen saying Isaiah definitely called him that and he doesnt know what to say about him stating at a press conference that it didnt happen, that’s bananas….

I believe that Isaiah has the right to his opinion, if he feels that homosexuality is wrong that his opinion, I feel the same way about it, any lifestyle that people try to justify and promote all the time something must be wrong with it. Rememeber that only people from the opposite can produce a life. I hope those gay folks get the picture. Too often people of celebrity status are force to apologise for their opinions and how they really feel about certain issuses.

  6. As much as I say the word, if I was a actor I would know to keep my mouth shut.

  7. shonuff

isaiah is an idiot. shonda is a great writer/director. she defended his dumb azz and how does he repay her? by acting the fool. what a nutcase.

  8. shonuff

also, if any of us did what he did on our jobs, you know security would’ve escortd us out the door with a quickness. and we’d be out of a job. normal people in normal jobs don’t act that that cavalier about calling people offensive names.

@ # 162 you voice your opinion now let me voice mind. dont you dare tell me nothin ok you a fuckin faggot. now i was tryna be nice. you suck dick mofo you a faggot, you preferr men over women and you a man, you a faggot Jesus made adam and eve. not adam and steve now learn yo shit. no need to respond cause i aint comn back to check. case close dick sucker lolololololololololollo

  10. MissNee

Hey Jah T, his opinion isn’t in question. How hard is that to understand? He used it in the work place and in the work place, your opinions are to be kept to yourself. Period, end of story.

Okay so he called ol’ boy a faggot. That was a few months ago right. Get over it! This whole thing is getting too blown out of proportion and is getting old.

  12. MissNee

    @176

See here’s the thing that you so obviously don’t understand, TR CANNOT be fired for what he does in his personal life. He’s not coming to work and sucking dick on the set. Why is it so hard for you to get past your hatred of gays and see the real issue? A lot of people seem to think Isaiah’s behaviour is ok cause they disapprove of being gay, but your opinion doesn’t trump work politics. If that is how you honestly think….you really must not have a job, because your ass would be fired ASAP. Whether it’s the word nigger or the word faggot, it’s hate speech in the eyes of your employer.

I feel like if his co-stars [like Katherine] start sayin shit like, “he shouldn’t speak in public at all right now.” That he must of said something. I don’t know. I’m pretty sure its only a matter of time before they cut him off of Grey’s … hell, I don’t really watch that show anyways.

  14. Tonya

Miss Nee (#190) is 100% right–bottom line is, any employer today is going to break their neck to maintain a hostile free work environment–you have to to avoid costly lawsuits and settlements–you should because it is the decent thing to do. I work in Human Resources and trust me, any company today would be escorting Mr. Washington to the front door, with a packed box in hand. And Shonda will soon be doing the same for Isaiah too. And she should–this fool is not worth jeopardizing the continued success of the show. He has put her in a very difficult position but when it comes down to it, she will write him off because it’s all about business and the ratings will suffer. It will be very easy to do because his character is already suffering from an injury. The sad thing to me is that he hurt, I mean really hurt another person and he didn’t even care. He extended an apology that he obviously didn’t mean, only to injure this same man once again. And sadly, the only reason he is now apologizing (AGAIN)is because someone’s told him that he’s really screwed up this time and could lose his job. And rightly, he should.

  15. Slovey

I think this whole thing is halarious! They love punishing the black celebs over the smallest stuff.

  16. the

They need to leave Isaiah alone. Again Hollywood and white folks show us that when you speak your mind your done. He should have known that fags run hollywood and that if your going to say something about them say it at your house among your folks . You know how they do when we not around. ( remember Texaco) Isaiah Keep your head up and start looking for a regular Job because ther’s know way there going to let you in a movie or anything now fags run deep in
    Jollywood

WOW-WOW-WOW. In response to #102, I didn’t realzie the CL blog was a place where people were allowed to blog hatred. Not too worry though, I’ll head over to Perez for my gossip now. Truly unfortunate, I actually like this blog, but not if people like #102 are allowed to spout sh*t like that.
