Forbes released their list for “The 20 Richest Women In Entertainment”, which compiled a group of musicians, actresses, and authors in a list from wealthy to – well, pretty much close to wealthy. These three successful ladies landed the top ten…
Of course the ‘Big O’ topped the list with an estimated net worth of $1.5 billion – being the first and only black female billionaire. Mariah ranked number 6 with $225 million, with Janet right behind at number 7 with $150 million.
Sistas are sure enough doing it for themselves these days with those figures…

Thas wassup. See I always knew Janet was in the hundred millions. From her investments with magic johnson etc. she co owns a bank chain with him as well. What I like about her is she never endorsed anything except pepsi and just made good investments. Thats real star power. The list is only Forbes listing of the richest female entertainers. So that means if you acquired your wealth by being a rich man’s wife AND you’re classified as an entertainer, you’ll be on the list.
On the other hand, they are not the richest women in the world. People like Queens of countries, or the really rich men’s ex-wives would be on there, or even Cathy Hughes from RadioOne would be on the list, for that matter.

Why are so many people surprised that Tyra Banks ain’t on this list??
Tyra is currently a talk show host, (and with a show that’s moderately successful with ratings that could have her pulled if the network execs get a wild hair up their asses) And the host of a modeling show, that’s doing well, but not fantastic as far as reality shows go. So, she’s doing OK, but her talk show won’t make a 10th of what Oprah talk brings in… and her “Modeling” show is decent, but again, not enough to make her one of the wealthiest women in entertainment.
Modeling just doesn’t pay well enough to make you one of the richest women in entertainment – modeling keeps you living well, but pretty enough to land a rich mf to keep you living BETTER.
