On Thursday, February 1st, former supermodel Tyra Banks is going to take on the media’s obsession with weight and speak out about it on her talk show. She will address those unflattering bathing suit photos that were recently plastered in tabloids and on gossip blogs – claiming that she gained 40 lbs.

I get so much mail from young girls who say, ‘I look up to you, you’re not as skinny as everyone else, I think you’re beautiful. So when they say that my body is ‘ugly’ and ‘disgusting,’ what does that make those girls feel like?
I still feel hot, but every day is different. It’s when I put on the jeans that used to fit a year ago and don’t fit now and give me the muffin top, that’s when I say, ‘Damn!’
I’ve made millions of dollars with the body I have, so where’s the pain in that? If I was in pain, I would have dieted. The pain is not there – the pain is someone printing a picture of me and saying those (horrible) things.

Tyra’s not fat but it wouldn’t hurt to hit the gym and tone up a bit……stomach rolls ain’t cute. Tyra even admitted that when she’s skinnier she’s more compfortable, she snores less, she sleeps better, and she has more endurance when she works out.

Well I dont see how the pics were unflattering of her. I think she looks great. You dont have to be a damn size two to be beautiful. THe average size of a woman is 12/14. So when we see women that size we need to stop looking at them and then saying damn she’s fat or sumthin like that. That is why so many people have eating disorders. Their raised to think that anything aboive a size 4 is fat and unpretty. We as people really need to stop it.

Whatever her career as a model is over she doesn’t have to be so little anymore. Who cares about what people have to say, more than likely they’re either not in shape or didn’t make close to as much as she did with her body so FORGET’ EM. She’s a beautiful woman.

I think Tyra is beautiful. The media is CONSTANTLY throwing these images of skinny ass women in our faces, it’s refreshing to see a real woman that has crossed over to mainstream media. More women need to be comfortable in their skin no matter what size they are. I don’t even think she’s airbrushed in those pics because she said that she’ll never retouch her photos again. It’s sad that 160 lbs at 5’10 is considered fat. But hell, that’s white folks for you. (hence throwing insults, talking about somebody else’s body) Anywho…Tyra is 5’10. At that height and weighing 161 pounds, she is NOWHERE near fat.
And before I forget…the same way a picture can be photoshopped to make someone look thinner, it CAN be photoshopped to make them look bigger. Catching someone at a different angle, can alter how big they might look.

These pictures are photoshopped to make her look bigger, I saw a before and after picture of her and they blew this picture up. She was doing yoga on the beach, then they blew the picture up. Tyra is thicker than she use to be but to me she was too small before, she had to be because she was a model. Now she isnt and she can eat whatever she wants too…Leave her ALONE!!
