The March issue of VIBE Magazine (available on newsstands in mid February) features top Grammy nominee, Mary J. Blige on the cover.
In 1993, Quincy Jones created VIBE, which is now a leading urban publication. The 150th issue offers a look at some of the V-Icons – a stamp that the Vibe editorial team gave to a select few, including Luther Vandross, Aaliyah, Jay-Z, Puffy, Eminem, Notorious B.I.G., Tupac and more.
This cover is waay better than Mary’s last vibe one. I know yall remember that one!

I think she earned the right to be on every cover that she’s been on. Unlike some of these gimmicks that have 1 hit and no longevity, yet they are gracing the cover of magizines and we never hear from them again.

It is alot better, but I just think Vibe doesn’t have great photographers. There have been soo many beautiful pictures of her and the Vibe covers are my least favorites.

Yeah I’m suprised she did the cover as well…but I guess since Mimi was let go, it made a difference. I like it though! better than the last one, not really feelin the wig either but Mary is always playin w/ Hair styles, and different looks, that’s what I like about her she is definitely a fashion trend setter!
Vibe is fallin off though, doubt I’ll be renewing my susscription cause that Mimi really did a number on that magazine w/ crappy articles, and cheap lookin’ covers. Love Vixen though!

I mean, yeah, she looked like a gremlin, but I think that she handled it in a very unclassy way–especially when she brought it up at the Vibe Awards.
The chick acted like they were intentionally trying to disrespect her with that cover, I mean if they didn’t give a crap about her, I don’t think that they would honor her at their own award show.

I agree with #59, after she acted so unprofessionally at the Vibe awards (where they were honoring her) I don’t think she should be on their cover. It makes them look like punks, however since we all know that Vibe is no longer Vibe (different owners, white owners, 95% different staff, snatching Christina A,’s cover to give to Bobby Brown of all ppl, lol), oh well…
And not being a hater, but from a professional standpoint, this is not a good cover either. They could’ve done better for the 150th issue.
