Kelis has finally released another single off her Grammy nominated album, ‘Kelis Was Here’. Here’s one of my personal favorites – ‘Little Star’ featuring Cee-lo. Its a really cute video…great single choice.

I LIKE THE SONG- NEVER HEARD IT B4 BUT SHE CAPTURES THE MOOD VERY WELL.
Love the song but WTF is up with the bubble coat? It looks like it was 5 sizes too big and just plain awkward looking.

This is my fav song from the album and it makes a great single (esp. with Cee-Lo’s success with Danger Mouse).
The coat works for me because it shows her personal style (as usual). Also, its a costume musch like the gowns and shit that The Supremes wore back in the day or the shit Prince and Parliament rocked. Thats what these people do- entertain and create visual refuge for the common folk.

I think the coat was supposed to represent a star– big and shiny, and with the pointy collar and her outstretched hands, it did sorta look like a 5-point star.

On Wikipedia she sold only 136,000 albums. Thats bad. Her album was still one of my favorites. Her record label is not promoting her like they should. I was so happy that she made a video for this song cause it is one of the best songs on Kelis Was Here.

I like the song from waaay back. But the video is boring. Nothing I will watch a second time. I liked the face in the stars concept, but it got old and boring really fast.
And what’s up with the Bubble coat? That’s on some straight Missy Supa Dupa Fly type shit. I still think Kelis should return to black hair. That girl has got some pretty hair. But at least, this blonde is better than the cotton ball she has been rocking these days.
I liked Cee-lo’s MTV Cribs episode. He is really down to earth and keeping shit simple. None of the flashiness. His wife’s Jag was a 2001.

I am a huge huge Kelis fan, i love everything about her. She is my #1 female artist, shame her album didnt do very well, she inspires me and i like her individualism. To cap it all, she is married to my favourite male artist (NAS), tell me how good can it get.
I hope the album goes on to do really well ’cause it was one of her best to me, loved all the tracks. I just love her. She is truly a STAR.
i dig this song, ive never been a huge fan of kelis’ vocals– but i like what she brings to this song. and ceelo just adds the extra flavor
not feeling the bubble coat or the blonde hair— but i understand kelis is a trendsetter and has to go the daring/different route, since most expect it from her
the video was kinda boring, and since its a slow tempo song already — it just seemed a lil drab— i expect better from kelis cuz she usually brings it on the visual side

I love Mrs.Kelis…I agree that her Cd production was excellent! Its a shame it didn’t do that well in the states. Consumers are just brainwashed with this unoriginal, childish, noninspiring ass music they play (payola) on the radio all day.
Lil Star is a nice song…but the video was just okay.

And I like the song, and the video was cute. I think this is probably like the first slow song she’s done in a LONG ASS minute. But “Bossy” and “Blindfold Me” are still bein played on my ipod.

i think the purpose of the coat is to show that even though its not glamous or cute, her inner self is shining through instead.

and i love the simplicity of it as well, it made me listen to the words than worrying about the flashy-ness of the vid. thats how music vids get you distracted from the words these days anyway..

luv the song. luv kelis. luv ceelo. the video was boring. I like the star idea; however those scenes with the bubble coat should have been left out. I know the coat was supposed to be shiny and shape similar to a star. But the video should have had her walking in the bubble coat. stopping to look at the stars. then swtich into a fantasy of living among the stars or something. anything but more bubble coat action.
