Rapper Foxy Brown held Dr. Benjamin Chavis’ hand during a press conference, where she addressed the reported allegations against her for battery and obstruction of justice in Florida on February 15.
According to Foxy:
The only crime I am guilty of committing is being a young black female celebrity in Broward County,” said Brown. “I am the victim of an overzealous police department who engaged in police brutality and a money-hungry store owner whose motives are for me to pay his mortgage on his house and his children’s tuition.

Brown added that the store owner barged in on her while she was on the toilet and demanded she leave the store , without giving her the privacy to get dressed. Though Brown went off on the police department and the store owner, she didn’t deny the charges they filed against her.

I’m an attorney and I have never been arrested in my life–but I WISH a store owner would put their hands on me under the facts described in this Foxy incident. After I finished wiping up the courtroom floor with the police on the brutality charge, I would sue the store owner for assault. There were no facts here that prove (at this point) any theft or trespass (if the store was open to the public, there could be no trespass).
The double standard for male rappers vs female rappers is something that all of you so-called “liberated” sisters should be noticing right now. (see Below for an explanation).
Foxy just understands what MOST of these Hollywood types understand…All publicity is still PUBLICITY. Good or Bad. She could put on rainbow striped eyeshadow and dookie brown lip gloss that wouldn’t make her ugly–it would just make her in desperate need of a good makeup mirror–she would still be naturally prettier than most women and would still be on the lips of more people than she would have been otherwise, which is her goal.
