INTRODUCING JOSS STONE…

joss_stuff.jpg

British soul singer and songwriter Joss Stone will release her third album, “Introducing Joss Stone,” on March 20th on Virgin Records. An electrifying mix of warm vintage soul, ’70s-style R&B, Motown girl-group harmonies, and hip-hop grooves, the album is the one that Stone describes as “truly me. That’s why I’m calling it Introducing Joss Stone,” she says. “These are my words, and this is who I am as an artist.” The new single, titled “Tell Me What We Gonna Do” features Common and is a funky track that kind of reminds me of Nikka Costa’s debut album. Make sure you check out Joss’s new album.

Man I see right now some of yall really want the industry to continue to be limited and one sided. Like someone else said there is enough room for more than one talented artist. Joss doesn’t have to be better than Teena or Amy to be a good or great artist. If you don’t like it cool state that and move the fuck on. People who keep stressin a dead point usually do it because no one else really gives to fuck about the point they were trying to make in the first place. Rock on Joss

She has a very good voice i just dont like her songs. Her pronunciation of her words in her songs like these makes my ears twitch. i hear wuahhh…wuahhh…wuahhh…iiii….flyyyy….skyyyy…..liee….pieeee…dieee

ok ok im a lil bored lol.

  3. #48, Melisus, please stop following me around. You are becoming quite the nuisance. If you dont agree with my statements, it is ok to say so, but when you start cursing and becoming so irate, there is a problem. You dont know me from a can of paint, and the fact that i get you so riled up, shows that something is mos def wrong with you.

Her hair color is the bombdiggity!

——Everything You did Has Already Been Done—–

  6. She’s beautiful, cool songs and video.

  7. I love Joss Stone. However I felt most of the songs she sung, didn’t fit her voice. These new songs are hot, go head baby girl. Angel La…try to get an interview with her.

  8. Samantha

Lovin this chick I love the soulfulness in her voice

  9. Vincent

“Tell Me What We Gonna Do Now” is not the single, “Tell Me About It” is the new single.

  10. Arrey

  12. Asentha

    Co-sign with #6!! I liked Tena Marie’s music.

I heard Joss Stone’s last cd a few weeks ago. Very nice.

  13. I thought Tell Me ‘Bout It was the first single. It is here in RSA anyway. I like it…I loved the video too…very colouful (this is how color it is spelt in real English), fresh and playful.

I like the song featuring Common too. Very nice blend with the Bob Marley classic No Woman No Cry. Seems like it’s gonna be a great album.

  14. Jez

I really like “tell me what we gonna do” Joss is dope and Common is the truth

@33 Norah Jones puts me to sleep. I don’t even see the hype about her. Everytime I look at that cheap a@@ video she had with them painted walls and fake flowers I throw up!

Joss Stone has funk, soul, along with the voice to go with it. I’m diggin this song.

Joss Stone never did anything for me. Her voice is okay, but her material has always been wack, maybe this album will give her a chance to prove her self more as an artist, with a point of view. She’s like a christina aguilera – nice voice, wack music.

  17. chillin in ny

    # yes….she reminds me of anastasia too!

  18. JT

She reminds me of Teena Marie. I like how she changed her look 2 she looks good.

  19. brea

I totally agree with #29.The first thing that went through my mind was ” that -itch trying to be like Kelis”….but other than that i’m not hating.

  20. @New Age Preperation H Let me tell you something you are not important to follow around as you put it.You were gone for a minute which was a relief to alot of us veterans on the loop.I am not the first nor will I be the last that has commented on your jibberish so once again NEXXXXXXXXXXXt. P.S I do not want to get to know you at all because you know damned well all the bullshit you type is just that.In Brooklyn where I rep you would get it long time but you and I both know you do not want it!

  21. Badabing!!

Actually…If you close your eyes…you would think that Christina Aguilera singing. Same voice. But there’s room for everybody. Whoever makes it happen.

  22. Jermar

    i love joss stone
i really dug her first two albums and cant wait to hear what she drummed up with this new one (especially beacause she worked with some great producers like raphael saadiq)

cant wait, march is gonna be a banging month for music with the release of joss, musiq soulchild, etc

  23. vexxed

I feel her. I am a fan … Torn was my jam. She has talent.

  24. mrgully2

joss stone sounds black? LOL! Almost as funny as dr. dre saying he thought eminem was a black man when he first heard his demo. Whether you like them or not, they sound just like two white folk.

  25. Love it. I like Joss Stone.
Cosign w/Melisus. Newageprep you are annoying as shit. You always bring up race/color and then have the nerve to talk about others bringing it up. WTF! Grow up.

  26. hood_shit

Feeling the joint with Common; the other two not so much.

CAN WE GO BACK TO VIEWING ALL THE POSTS ON ONE PAGE INSTEAD OF THIS FLIP THROUGH PAGES SHIT?

  27. nette & eZ

    V Soulful.
I prefer the one with common and Joss tho.

  28. Don’t know if I like this new format. Might take some getting use too.

  29. Thank you @88 Uptowngirl for agreeing that NewAgePreperation H is fucking annoying she/he is like an annoying fly that just won’t go away! She is the first one to bring up the race card, how old is she/he 12 or 13? Oh and I agree not really feeling this new format either kinda annoying.

  30. Lee

She’s back. I was hoping she realized that her voice is awful and decided to permanently retire from the music industry. But people keep overhyping her mediocre voice and she’s back.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that thinks Joss Stone is a soul-less singer. Her so-called soulful voice sounds so put on and fake and her vocal range is average at best.I hate the sound of her voice. Her over-enunciation of words makes me sick to my stomach. I want to puke everytime I hear her sing. It’s time to bring out the Pepto Bismol.

  31. Ana

I’ve been a fan of Joss’ from the start. I can’t wait til her new album drops.

And I looked it up, her ex was Lamont Dozier’s son Beau.

  32. The Funkadelic Relic

Joss Stone is the real deal. She is really singing. No lip-sync. She delivers.

  33. bonbon

I LOVE YOU JOSS! #50: you don’t know real music when you see it homie. that goes for you too, #46

  34. Illafilth

PLEASE stop comparing this chick to the Legendary Teena Marie. Lady T is one of the best soul artists of all time black or white, to compare her to some teenager is offensive.

  35. yessss joss! love the song and the new hair.

  36. Wandsworth

    cosign with 25

    Hi, there!..4b92e95810fb77b81548ec51a9a4bb73

  40. Me

hahha Joss Stone has more range than Janis!!!!!! what an idiot!!!!!!! listen to janis’ Peace of my Heart, then A woman left lonely, then summertime—Janis Joplin was the best (and is) the best white blues singer no question about it…this chick is cute but in terms of a powerful voice and range–she’s nothing. The best vocalist of all time is Aretha Franklin hands down—other singers struggle to let out notes, she just stands and tells you the whole universe!!
