UPGRADE!
Electric-soul songtress Macy Gray will release her long-awaited new album “Big” on March 27th through Epic Records.
The Grammy-Award winning Canton, Ohio native has compiled a twelve track disc with guest appearances from Justin Timberlake, Natalie Cole, Nas, Ron Fair, Jared & Whitey, and Black Eyed Peas headliner Fergie. Another Black Eyed Pea Will.i.am is the lead producer on the project.
Macy has taken a break from the music scene to get her act on. She has been in the HBO films, “Lackawanna Blues,” and “Idlewild,” among others.

I like the fact that she is trying to comeback with a whole new look. I never liked the ragga muffin look on her. It made her look….manish. Hope her songs are good. I personally like smooth soulful and not raspy music.

I like these pictures…even though the wig in the second pic looks like it came from Nippy’s personal collection.
Still, I’m going to say upgrade. I briefly knew Macy Gray back in the day before she got big (She was in a three girl R&B group that ended up going nowhere with a cousin of mine: I went into the studio with them a few times), and this is actually closer to the look she rocked when I knew her…though that was in 1997-ish. I wonder if she’s going to start using the vocal style she had back then, too.
Does she have enough guest appearances on the new CD??? Dang!!

I’m disappointed by the comments here. Yes, she looks nice. But a sistah can rock Natural/kinky/curly hair, look feminine and beautiful. jill scott, cree summmer, angie stone, erykah badu, etc., (all flavors) are great examples of this.
I wish her well with her career though.

Macy Grey looks really good, she probably was always pretty it’s just her style at the time, now she’s changing it! She has a different kind of Voice. Macy was really good in Idle Wild and in the movie Traning Day w/Denzel Washington her acting is really good i was supprised! Go girl!

She looks good. Her old style used to be THE BOMB though, but people change constantly, that’s what life is about, new image new style and I bet new state of mind. I never liked her voice so i’m not anticipating the album.

I’ve always liked Macy Gray…her voice, her quirkiness, she’s just herself in a jerky kinda way. She had me crackin’ up in Idlewild! Fantasia’s voice reminds me of Macy’s.
