I was just wondering; how come Nas almost never gets nominated. I mean most of his albums get critical acclaim but when it’s time for an award show; nothing; not even nomination. The only performance I witnessed he did was him and Ja Rule for the Pledge a while ago.

GHETTO CELEBRITY…I think Akon looked good in the white suite. I’m sure he realizes how black he is. Why does it bother you so much? Also, please explain how a Haitian looks. I can’t just look at someone and figure out where they are from. You must have special powers.
STEELE-PIMPIN’…Syleena & Shanice can probably sing circles around Mary J., but can they write music? When they perform do they connect to the audience? Mary J. has a connection with people you can’t teach. It is natural. That is why people LOVE her. We believe she actually feels her songs instead of just belting them out.
HBIC…Christina straight screamed on of the notes. Trying to hit that Maria Carey level I guess, but she can sing. In response to your comment about if it were JHUD who did that we’d(black people)say she sounds good, you obviously haven’t been on these boards long enough.
WTF…Jamie is very rough around the edges. He needs to tone it down. Not attractive.
AMBERLY L…Why not push John Mayer? They (media/music business) promote all kinds of crap. Why do you have a problem with John? He is very talented.
MISSTEE2U…Don’t be fooled. There are plenty of talented brothers and sisters out there, but if a white man/woman is almost as good or sounds black (whatever that means) they are the ones these executives will promote. There is nothing “original” about a black person who can sing. That is expected. But from a white person it is such a nice surprise and so very unique (insert sarcasm here). The comment you posted is exactly the reaction (media/record companies) they are hoping to get.
Is it me of does that gown on Rhiana look like a Bey hand me down. Just asking?! I could’ve sworn Bey has worn the same or similar design just in a different color.

Like Jamie Foxx said about Christina “thats the shit right there” i know she can sing but she left me stunned with the performance.Been a fan of James Brown and watching the performance i anticipate the screech/scream. That was probably the performance of her career. Mary deserve what she got. Respect to Stevie and Tony Bennett.

I am soooo late with posting a comment about the Grammys. Yesterday Oprah said it best, “When Mary won I felt like I won the Grammy”.
I like the Dixie Chicks but I felt like their Grammys wins were political.
AWESOME PERFORMANCES: Mary J, Christina, Chris Brown. I also enjoyed Shakira/Wyclef, Dixie Chicks, Corinne/John/John.
BEST DRESSED: Natalie Cole and Christina. Mary was close behind. Luda was best for the men.
