The Grammys was just alright.
Mary’s performance- was not what I expected for a “grammy performance”, but she did look great and why did she almost catch spirit and lose that big ole bun weave she was rocking? Did anyone see J.Fox’s face after her perfomance? He was salted!

Chris Brown’s- was real energetic and he stuck to what he know for real. He danced his ass off.

Gnarls “GadddddDamnnn” Barkley- now I been a fan a ceelo for years..I mean Goodie Mob/Dungeon Family years- why?…why he double-layered dentures? I mean it look Scary- sheesh. And the cameraman wrong too for them close ups!

Luda w/Mary- she looked stunning w/the hair and outfit. Holly’hood at its best. Mary is Ghetto Fabulous. I love how she be trying to be all classy and reserved and the “Brooke Lynne” be trying to breakthrough. Luda was mad amped after the win- dude came out performin like he threw a couple back before coming on stage.

Christina’s- it was a good ass performance period. BUT! If anything- James Brown is the damn GodFather Of Soul! C’mon there would be no damn Elvis or Graceland if not for James Brown! He opened doors for so many & from different walks of life too. But you guys..think deeper. Think about his era and what he truly represents. He was more than a pioneer in the music industry/and entertainment. I think respectfully, for the GRAMMYS there could of been a better tribute. Prince and Chris Brown (old school meets new school) out dancing each other. J.Fox could of perfomed the song..feel me?

Shakira and Wyclef nice performance. Wyclef stay representing. A little hard too..dude looking real haitian..got a little weight on him. Got a little rice belly thing going on. The tighter fittin pants. But they did their thing. Shakira is sick with it…

Justin’s was just alright. He always looks the same to me. Young ass pee wee herman suits and the same as look. Why don’t he fire his stylist! The biddie singing with him got nooooo rhythm poor thing!

Other than that Red Hot Chili Peppers was cool. Song hot performance a little weak considering the was MIA for a bit. Good to see Sting and the Police.

Overall, I think the Grammys were good. I enjoyed the performances from each of the artists. I think they did the best they could at the time. The most touching part of the night for me personally, was when Mary J Blige won Best R&B Album of the year. I grew up listening to Mary. From her singing the hook to the Father MC song to her making a Grammy Award winning album “The Breakthrough”. To me, it was an extremely proud moment to see her grow in her art form. And you can tell, that she put a lot of hard work and heart into this album, because I freakin love it. As far as Christina A. goes, she is extremely talented. The woman can sing. But everyone loves to hate on her. And I just can’t find it in myself to do so. Everyone doesn’t have to like her tribute, her performance, or her music. But I do. And I can get curse out all up and down this post, but it doesn’t change my opinion one bit. That’s the purpose of opinions, we all have them. Not everyone is going to enjoy the Grammys like some. Personally, since I’m such a huge music fan of all genres, it’s the highlight of my year. It’s bad enough that the older generation shuns the younger generation for being closed minded and ignorant. As a younger generation, we need to step up to the plate and show our elders that we can be open minded and less ignorant. No one and I do mean no one should fault another for their opinions. If you don’t like it (which you’re entitled to feel that way), chuck it up and move on. There’s no need to curse the person out in a post, cause you don’t like what they have to say. In conclusion, I enjoyed the Grammy awards and congratulations to all of the winners!

I missed the Grammy’s but see from the pictures above, that Anthony Hamilton was there! Did he win anything?? Please tell me he won a grammy because he sooooo deserves it. Also, nothing personal against Mary J, but I just don’t see what the hype is about her. She can’t sing. Sorry, that’s just my personal opinion. But she can dress her ass off though, I’ll give her that, lol. If Syleena Johnson and/or Shanice were on a record label that could truly see the potential they have, and would actually put the money, producers, etc. behind their projects, they would be platinum selling artist. They both, as well as Anthony Hamilton are so under-rated. Syleena & Shanice can sing circles around Mary J and John Legend couldn’t touch Anthony Hamilton if he wanted too.

The show was pretty boring, I must admit! I was more into Chris Brown’s performance (even tho he was dancing so hard he could barely sing)! Chris was the one who did the James Brown night train tribute. That little boy is hot!! Usher better watch out, cuz Chris is on his heels!!

Mary did good! I was very excited for her win! Her runaway love performance was better than her solo joint. Can somebody please explain to me why Earth, Wind and Fire lead singer just does not have those high notes like he used to but still tries to struggle through the notes now (making my ears hurt)!

I liked Beyonce’s hair. Yes, her performance was awful, but like mtv said, she had a stomac flu. Shit, I can barely get out of the bed when my stomach hurts. So, mad props to her for going up there and perfprming. MJB, she did good. She was off at least four times. I’m a music major and I take eartraining and sightsinging, so I should know. Christina, man all that girl did was scream. I could not find a potch in many of her notes, especially that last one.

fASHION: Most of the men played it safe. Jamie and his daughter look cute. Juelz was cute with his curly hair. I liked both of Beyonce’s dresses, except the one she performed in. MJB, I’m getting tired of that braid! But her dress, the first one, was cute. I didn’t like her hair for her performance, though. Jennifer Hudson looks skinnier since the last time I saw her on T.V. Ceeloo has a soulful voice, Christina over sang, almost everyone looked great, Angel u need to post a pic of Imogen, that british lady(i laugh so hard), I think justin was mocking britney’s chaotic reality show with that cam, mary rocks, beyonce sucked, james blunt refreshing, john mayer is the shit, dixie chicks are cool more gansta that most rappers, luda thanking oprah and bill… priceless, the ceremony was strangely formatted, most performances were lacking, maybe ppl dressed up a bit too much kinda like they were at an oscar party, tone it down ppl, i saw that seacrest talking to james blunt and saying something about i’ll explain what going on later to a party in james’ entourage, i was wondering if it is that ryan is clueless for not realising that the person is linda perry(she looked at him like he was crazy), ryan is in entertainment, thats frigging embarrassing, she’s one of the better songwriters in the business, but sweet justice when john mayer replied to him in japanese, stop inquiring about who’s sleeping with who, who cares, its about the music, its the grammy awards. Pls angel get that pic of the imogen lady, it is refreshing to say the least.

Chris Brown: His performance was not all that, he was sweating like hell when he took that hoodie off but he redeemed himself when he did that tribute to James Brown.

John Legend and the crew: the were good, a little long, but they were good.

THE SHOW WAS OKAY ALL I WANTED TO SEE WAS MY GIRL BEYONCE PERFORM AND GET THAT GRAMMY.

Jennifer Hudson looked okay but she needs a new look she kind of looks boring.

Not sure what people use to determine if a person has soul or not-I’ve always thought someone had soul if they could sing a song with raw emotions that you feel when they perform-

Christina did exactly that for me. And she was feeling that damn song-she grew up listening to soul music-she’s not pretending or acting she sang that song the way she felt it-some like it some don’t but that “white” girl is not singing to please us or to win black folks approval-she just sang the damn song and I aint mad at her-

there are some who transcend racial barriers/you don’t even think race when they do what they do/you just think damn their good. She is not a good “black” or good “pop” singer she is just a good singer altogether-she may scream a bit much for some but you can’t deny that bitch’s vocals.

I split my time between the Grammys and the simpsons/family guy. I did catch a few performances and I can comment on those.

I caught the tail end of Beyonce’s performance. Eh. Maybe I had to see the whole thing because it was just aiight. I was wondering about the note changes, and again I chalked it up to having to see the whole perfomance to understand how I felt about it.

I turned the channel at the corrine/john l./john m. performance, right after john legend started singing. I think they’re all talented, but it was wearing me out.

Smokey Robinson & Lionel Ritchie had me singing along. Chris Brown did a good job, I loved all the steppin. I especially loved the backflip with the trampoline.

Christina A., I love her to death. She is an amazing talent to me. However I do think that she could have taken it down just about 2 notches. She tore it up don’t get me wrong, but some of it started sounding rough, especially when she broke into that high whistle note. I know she does it because she can, but I thought she would get over proving how strong of a singer she is by now. I wonder if her throat even hurts anymore when she sings like that?

Mary J. & Luda had a lovely performance of a song with an actual message.

JT’s performance of what goes around comes around? Actually referring to the clip at the beginning before he actually sung: Hun, why you explaining that the song is relating to what happened to a “friend” and that’s why it means so much to you? Boy you know you still writing songs about Britney. You need to stop playing. What was the deal with that weird blair witch project camera with the light thing that he was holding? And the performance at the end of the night? Eh. I felt bad for the girl because she just was not getting the dance at all. But congrats to her for even getting the chance to get up there and do that.

I changed the channel at 11 so I don’t even know how it finished. Overall even though my viewership was spotty, I think the Grammy’s were just alright.

My mom had that same jumpsuit in blue. I was feeling that shit…more than her performance. I loved the orchestra, but we are used to MJB lifting us up and it fell a little short of that. Still, my heartfelt congrats to her.
Prince looked better than everybody, even the women. His hair was laid, his shades were fab and so was his suit. Can I get an Amen?
Christina Aguilera been blowing roofs off for a minute, where y’all been? That bitch can flat out sing and if we had more black women with her skills our industry would be in a better state. If you notice, her, Justin, Robin Thicke and even John Mayer are doing traditional soul music better than most of the black artists.

I was expecting alot more from Beyonce last night maybe a listen/irreplaceable or if she was just going to do listen she should have done another Oprah performance, because the performance on Oprah was amazing, this year it was ok but Christina Aguilera and Corrine Bailey Rae had the best performances of the night. Christina was amazing and I love Corrine she is so talented. I’m glad Mary finally got her props from the music industry, it took long enough. Gnarles Barkley and Justin Timberlake was the WTF of the night, I didnot like the girl who won the grammy moment, she didn’t have any stage presense at all. The show overall this year was not that great!

The Grammy Awards was great this year. Christina Aguilera did a wonderful job singing James Brown’s “Its a Mans World”. I loved JT, and TI performance, MJB and Luda was great also. Beyonce looked beautiful as always.
