A week after retired center John Amaechi became the first active or former NBA player to publicly acknowledge he was gay, one of the most popular players in Heat franchise history offered a blunt view on homosexuality Wednesday during a radio interview.

Former Heat guard Tim Hardaway, who had been making public appearances for the NBA, said on Miami-based 790 The Ticket he would not have tolerated a gay player on his team and would have asked to have been traded in such a situation or would have asked to have the gay teammate be traded.

…Hardaway was asked if his opinion would be different if a top-level teammate acknowledged being gay.

“If he were that great, something would still have to give,” he said. “People would feel uncomfortable with that. If you’re not gay, nobody in that locker room would feel comfortable with that person on your team.”

He later apologized for the remarks during a telephone interview with FOX affiliate WSVN in Miami.

“Yes, I regret it. I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said I hate gay people or anything like that,” he said. “That was my mistake.” read more

There’s a difference between just speaking your mind, and hate speech. What Tim Hardaway said was an example of hate speech. Almost implying that homosexuals shouldn’t even be in the country.

People have the legal right to say what they want, but that doesn’t excuse them from the public reaction to it. I think he apologized to because nowadays the public doesn’t take too kindly to bigots, at least out in the open. He has the right to hate homosexuals, and companies have the right to pull their endorsements. Simple as that.

It’s interesting how most people who believe being gay is a choice, are not gay. Yet most people who are gay will tell you it is not a choice.

And for all of you folks out there who are saying there is nothing wrong with him stating his opinion, the next time a politician, celebrity, etc., OPENLY says he hates Black people, admits he is a racist, and he wishes Black people were not in this country or in the world, I certainly hope you view THAT as simply him stating his opinion. It’s easy for black people to treat such situations as “no big deal/he has a right to”, when it’s not about us.

Martin Luther King said, “injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”. Well, I’m saying Hate speach against minorities anywhere is a threat to minorities everywhere. Tim Hardaway’s words should not be taken lightly soley based upon, “well that’s his opinion and he has a right to say it”. Folks this is bigger than simply that. When you read a story here on Concreteloop and then repeat it to one of your friends, what are you doing? MY bible says, “Thou shall not bear false witness against your neighbor” (Exodus 20).

When you repeat something you heard from someone else, or share a story where you’re not 100% certain the facts are correct, or even share information about another person that will only bring them harm and not good, you are bearing false witness against them. Since the second greatest commandment is “Love your neighbor as yourself,” you would be breaking that one as well by gossiping. Would you gossip about yourself to others? If not, then why commit that act against your neighbor?

What the Bible says about Homosexuality

Contender Ministries

With the schism in the Anglican communion, the Constitutional amendment in the United States to define marriage as between a man and a woman, and in light of various ‘human rights’ laws around the world that vilify those who speak against homosexuality, more Christians are asking what the Christian position towards homosexuality should be. While only a tiny percentage of people are homosexual, the gay lifestyle is becoming mainstream – at least in some circles and in the media. Let’s examine what the Bible says about homosexuality, and clear up a few myths in the process.

First, let’s start with some fundamental groundwork. Some people, uneducated in scripture, are under the mistaken impression that all forms of sexuality are sinful according to the Bible. With this misconception, they readily disregard anything the Bible might say with regards to sexuality, choosing instead to side with their sexual desires. What they don’t understand is that they are completely wrong. Sex is a creation of God, who pronounced all His creation “good!” Sexuality is not sinful. It is a wonderful part of God’s plan.

God put a limit on sex, though. Yes, a limit – only one. There is no long dissertation on the do’s and don’ts of sex. The only caveat to the enjoyment of sex is this: sex is meant to be enjoyed in the context of marriage – not outside of it. Unfortunately, these days we must be specific. Sex is to be enjoyed within the context of a marriage between a man and a woman. That’s it! That’s the limit. Genesis 2:24-25 says, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” Hebrew 13:4 says, “Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” All sexual sins (i.e. promiscuity, adultery, homosexuality, prostitution, etc.) are sins because they do not conform to the limit of sex being a marital activity. Now of course some of you will point out the list of sexual activity prohibited by the Mosaic laws, but let’s not address those issues of the law from which Paul said we are now free. Instead, let’s stick to those ancient commands that endure eternal. To that end, the above-mentioned single rule is how we are to judge sexual morality.

The men of Sodom and Gomorrah were the first recorded in the Bible to face punishment for their sexual perversion. In Genesis chapter 19, we find two angels that pay a visit to Lot’s home in Sodom. In verse four, we find that “all the men from every part of Sodom” surrounded Lot’s house, and told Lot to bring out his visitors “so that we can have sex with them.” The pro-homosexual revisionist argues that the wickedness of Sodom and Gomorrah was that the residents wanted to commit an act of rape. That the rape would have been homosexual is not an issue, according to their argument. However, Jude 7 indicates that Sodom and Gomorrah’s punishment was due to their sexual perversion. Their sin was not simply one of violence (rape) but of sexual immorality (homosexuality). As further evidence of the sinful nature of homosexuality, Leviticus 18:22, and 20:13 both describe homosexuality as “an abomination.”

Contrary to the opinions of some, the Old Testament is not the only place in the Bible that condemns homosexuality. We previously mentioned Hebrews 13:4, where Paul exhorted us to honor the marriage bed and keep it pure. In Romans 1:26-27 Paul is very specific, “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.” In 1 Corinthians 6:9, Paul wrote, “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.” The Greek word from which the King James Bible gets the word “effeminate” is malakos, which literally means something soft to the touch, but is used as a negative metaphor to refer to a boy kept for homosexual relations with a man. The “abusers of themselves with mankind” are those men who engage in unnatural sexual relations with other men – homosexuals. That is also how the NASB, the NKJV, and the NIV translate that verse. Also in the New Testament is verse 7 from the book of Jude, defining exactly why Sodom and Gomorrah were punished – homosexuality.

Having established that homosexuality is a sin, we must now face that we live in increasingly pro-homosexual societies. The media and the schools have become mouthpieces for the gay subculture, and are working hard to marginalize those of us who take a moral, biblical stance on the issue. School sex education programs based on the curriculum developed by SIECUS champion homosexuality as being normal and healthy, while encouraging teenagers to ignore the values of their parents if their parents feel homosexuality is wrong. “Gay” television shows are popping up on networks like Bravo and on other networks as well.

In many nations, current and existing laws are including slurs against homosexuality in the definition of hate crimes. In fact, some in Canada have found themselves in legal trouble for reading the first chapter of Romans over the airwaves. This is a pattern that is sweeping the Western world, and I predict we’ll see similar legislation in the United States within the next few years. While the Canadian Parliament claims that a religious exemption in their recent hate speech bill will protect speech of a religious nature, in practice Canadians have already been prosecuted by human rights tribunals for things as simple as listing the same Bible verses above in a newspaper advertisement.

Even the church today is not immune to the mainstreaming of immorality. The Anglican Communion, including the Episcopal Church in the United States is suffering a rift because of the appointment of an openly homosexual bishop. This rift is widened because some of its leaders have deemed it appropriate to perform homosexual marriages. The Methodist Church has allowed openly homosexual ministers to retain their positions. Let me make this clear: I do not oppose allowing homosexuals to attend church. In fact, I think that’s where they should be. However, we must not condone sinful immorality by allowing our clergy to practice it openly. Homosexuality is a sin. Homosexuals are unrepentant of their sin. If they were repentant, they would no longer identify themselves as homosexual. Just as no church would allow their minister to engage in an ongoing adulterous affair and retain his position, so we must not allow homosexual ministers to retain their positions of leadership.

Homosexual advocates will contend that homosexuality is natural, and some will point to homosexual activity within some animal species as evidence. However, it’s not hard to figure out that homosexuality is decidedly unnatural. My wife and I used to have a couple of pendant necklaces. Each of us had half of a pendant on our necklace. When we put our two halves together, the zigzag pattern meshed together flawlessly to create a single, whole pendant (which, by the way, bore the words of Genesis 2:24). God made men and women different, both emotionally and physically. Physically, we were created to fit together anatomically much like our pendant. Our parts just match up! Remember the child’s game of matching the round peg into the round hole, the square peg into the square hole, etc.? The homosexual is trying to force two pegs together, in blatant disregard for God’s natural design! The argument above also falls flat on its face when you consider that some animal species also eat their young. I don’t think we can extrapolate that into an acceptable practice for human beings.

These same homosexual advocates will claim that homosexuality is genetic. NOT TRUE! Nobody is ‘born homosexual.’ In 1993, Dean Hamer of the National Cancer Institute claimed to have found a genetic link to homosexuality. Yet in 1999, the results of an intensive study by the University of Western Ontario found that Hamer was in error. The fact is that after all the attempts to show a genetic cause for homosexuality, no such genetic cause has been found. A British psychologist has had enormous success in providing “reorientation” therapy to homosexuals who want to change. This is not a surgery or a medical treatment, but it is effective. How could it be effective if the cause of homosexuality is physical? Well, it couldn’t be. Homosexuality is a choice, not a genetic predisposition.

Also untrue is the label applied to those who don’t approve of homosexuality. “Homophobe” has been applied to anyone speaking negatively of homosexuality or of homosexuals. But in 2002, a study by the University of Arkansas was publicized that showed that term to be inaccurate. While a phobia is a fear, researchers found that those termed “homophobic” exhibited no traces of fear. The study subjects’ reactions ranged from disapproval to disgust, but none showed any fear.

God’s laws were handed down for our benefit. HIV and AIDS, while no longer exclusive to homosexuals, are still much more rampant and spreading more quickly among the gay community (at least in the western nations). Our children are at risk as well. While GLSEN (Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network) will tell your seventh-grader during a school assembly that heterosexual men molest more children than homosexual men do, they are not telling the whole story. That statistic is only true because homosexuals make up less than 5% of the population. Statistically though, a homosexual man is 10 to 20 times more likely than a heterosexual man to sexually abuse a minor.

A few “Christians” have hurt the cause of morality by acting out violently and/or hatefully against homosexuals. When Matthew Shepherd was killed for being homosexual,* a Baptist congregation gathered outside the courthouse during his killers’ trial. They held up banners that stated how many days Shepherd had been in hell, and used some disgusting names to describe him. They seemed to be happy that he had been brutally murdered. Hate is not the answer to anything. Every one of us is sinful, yet every one of us is loved by God. Jesus did not celebrate the death of Matthew Shepherd, and neither should we. “Hate the sin, but love the sinner,” is how the saying goes, and that applies to homosexuals as well.

With that said, we must not be afraid to stand up and champion the cause of morality. Some will call us bigots and homophobes for our belief that homosexuality is a sin, but we cannot let name-calling soften our beliefs in God’s moral code. The pro-homosexual movement can only marginalize us if we allow ourselves to be marginalized. There are two ways we can do that: a) we exhibit hate toward homosexuals rather than love, or b) we remain silent. We must proudly champion God’s love toward the homosexual without condoning his or her behavior. Let His love shine through us, and may we all be examples of the morality God desires.

A series of questions for you: If the Lord was a black man, would you still want to go to heaven? When did the white man invent air and water? Did he rest on the 6th day or the 7th? There was a version of the Bible that was distributed to priests and clergymen that included secret and anciet esoteric information and practices (some of these esoteric principles are hinted at in Revelations and even in the 23rd Psalm) and then there was a version of the Bible that was distributed to the common man that was void of these secrets. Don’t you know that there are a number of texts (Gnostic Gospels) that were not even included in the Bible for various political reasons? Instead they were found hidden in a cave somewhere in the Middle East in 1949. What I find sad is that so many people are just blind followers. They don’t bother to research or question; they simply fall in line like cattle and follow whatever they’re spoon fed because they’ve been terrorized by fear (God is vengeful and you’ll burn in hell for your sins…what a bunch of malarky) to do what they’re told. It’s sad really. NEWS FLASH: Organized religion is nothing more than a tool to control the weak-minded masses who can’t think for themselves. I’ve learned to know God on my own and I know that He could never hate or condemn me because God is LOVE and is not mocked, meaning He can’t be hate AND love.

Until Jesus Christ himself comes down off of his cloud and tells me that I’m going to hell for loving another man, I will happily be gay knowing that I am LOVED and ADORED by God who lives within my every breath. I have a feeling though that he’ll sooner come down off of his cloud and condemn all you HATERS for spreading ignorance and fear in His name before he condemns me for loving! It’s not arrogance to state the truth. My friend knew before he even outed himself how I felt. When he did tell me, my beliefs didn’t change nor my view of him because I love him dearly. He doesn’t have to accept my non-acceptance of his lifestyle. Our relationship is not based on his or my own sexual pref. He struggles with his homosexuality alot and it’s not because of acceptance because all his friends and most of his fam accept it. It’s an internal struggle because he is a Christian and knows what the Bible says about homosexuality.

Okay, on to your barrage of questions. To answer it in a nutshell, I sin every day either in word, deed or thought. That is because I am a sinful being. I break commandments left and right without even knowing it sometimes. Yet, when I do and even when I don’t know I have because I sin everyday, I confess it as such. I am a sinner saved by grace. My sins were atoned for on Calvary. What did I do to deserve it? Squat! Now, does that mean I can keep sinning because God will forgive me? Paul made that arguement. No. As I grow closer to God, I’m renewed on the inside EVERYDAY and move SLOWLY closer to being more Christ-like. I cannot be perfect in this world, but I will be in the world to come (new Heaven, new Earth). God is not a fool and shouldn’t be played for one. I’m not going to keep committing the same sin and feel good about it.

Now, read 1 Corin 6:9. That is not an exhaustive list but the major types of moral sin of the unsaved. Now, while believers can and do commit these same sins, they don’t characterize them as an unbroken life pattern. When they do, it demonstrates that the person is not in God’s kingdom. True believers who do sin, resent the sin and try to gain victory over it and not continue to indulge in it hoping the rules will change.

Look, this is God’s law. If you believe in God, then you should understand. God planned for male-female relationships and this is a sexual perversion in His eyes. Also, homosexuality is not stated in the 10 Commandments but it is clearly stated in the Bible..Lv 18:22, 20:13, Rom. 1:26,27, etc.

I don’t justify ANY of my sins and I don’t have a parade about them either. Don’t pick and choose what you are going to take from the Bible but take it ALL as a whole. Scripture ALWAYS backs scripture. God will never change His rules.

Sorry but you can justify, make excuses for, sugar-coat it but being gay ain’t right and it’s a CHOICE. I’m a little worried about the powerful Pro-gay consensus in this county, trying to make almost every vice acceptable, soon molesting kids will be “Ok” because people are “born that way”. (Ever heard of NAMBLA?) You can’t PROCREATE being gay. Ya’ll like to say, “no sin is greater than the other” but what makes the difference is if you REALIZE your mistakes and REPENT. One of my best friends was a gay Cop I was stationed with overseas in the Airforce, but I am under no illusions as to what’s going to happen to him in the next life. I’m not sure whether you were being sincere and candid in your question or dousing me with sarcasm, but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and respond on the assumption you were not trying to be funny.

Okay, all I can say to you is that every deed starts somewhere in the mind. If you constantly let something simmer and stew in your mind, it will eventually manifest itself into an action. You’ve heard, “an idle mind is the devil’s workshop”, right? That’s for real. For me personally, if I think too much on something (good or bad), each day I find myself drawing closer to actually doing it because each day the desire is given attention, grows stronger and preoccupies my every thought. I then start to justify doing it and eventually do it (not all the bad stuff-lol!). On the bad things, I hadn’t actually commited the act, but I was still sinning with the thoughts. The act just brought more sin and rougher consequenses.

If you were having all these thoughts since childhood, I can see how they could grow into you actually acting on them. Were you gay before you committed the act? I don’t know but the thoughts were sinful and the act was just added sin.

As far as praying for deliverence, there are no limits on God although we all put them on Him. Again, speaking for myself, I’ll give you an example. It’s lame but you’ll get my point. I LOVE horror movies! I used to read scary books, watch movies, go on websites, the whole nine yards. At some point, it dawned on me as I grew closer to God that what I was pulling into my mind through my eyes was not what God would want me to be viewing. So, I got rid of my books and vowed never to watch scary movies. I prayed for help to keep the vow. Well, I guess I expected God to magically take the desire away and all would be good. IT DOESN”T WORK THAT WAY. I’d see movie trailers and fight the desire. Now, when I’d go to the movies to see something else, and a scary movie was playing at the same time, I went on my desire for the scary movie because I never allowed God in to start helping me. I’d feel bad afterwards but even when I was in the theater feeling bad about it, I chose to go. Then, the whole process would start over…Lord, help me not to go to these movies, rent videos, watch them on tv, etc. Then, as I thought more about them, I justified seeing them.

That was too long and lame to make a point but I hope you got it. God never put me at the theaters, made me rent the movie, etc. I put myself into the situations because that is what I secretly wanted and God knew that. His voice is only as loud as you allow it and He does not force His will on us. If you keep allowing yourself and satan to supress His voice, it will go away and you’ll give in everytime.

I still watch the movies and don’t feel too bad about it. Why? I’ve justified it so watching them doesn’t seem too bad. I feel in my spirit that I shouldn’t watch but I do. It’s a lame struggle but I’m fighting between what I know to be right and actually doing it. Do I ask God for help? No. I feel ashamed because I feel like I’m playing games with God so I just don’t ask and keep watching the movies. It doesn’t seem so bad then. Am I sinning? Big time!

The above was my candor and I think many can put their own sin into my story and understand. If you want God to help you, He will but you have to really want His help. Do you really want His help?

These whites have our historical records in their vaults and museums in America and Europe so of course they have more access to the truth. The Lord said that these other races would use archaeology to verify the scriptures (Psa 85:11, Jer 16:19, etc.). Some of the biggest liars and charlatans are these black authors that claim that we’re Egyptian or whatever (Jer 5:31). The Lord inspires a man to write a truthful piece of literature, not a “white man”, lol. I get my knowledge from the Most High, not a “white man”. That’s why when (or if) you read the Bible, it probably looks like hieroglyphics because you’re waiting for the “Great White Man” to give you the ultimate breakdown of the scriptures and you’re too conceited for the Lord to use you as a vessel. A series of questions for you: If the Lord was a black man, would you still want to go to heaven? When did the white man invent air and water? Did he rest on the 6th day or the 7th? When did he decide to make the earth round? Lol. As far as who was black in history, I could really get your panties bunched up if I started to list the notable men of history who were of our nation and were “whitewashed” but I’ll save that for another time. The Lord said that the white man would take many of the great men of history and make them white for his mind control and propaganda (Job 9:24). In 400 years, he might say that Michael Jordan was a caucasian.”

Nothing you said has anything to do with the topic at hand. This argument wasn’t about color until you made it that way. Go back to the first page where you write an essay about your typical white conspiracy BS and then tell me I’m more about color than you’ll ever be. Your cyclical, conspiracy-based debating is childish at best because whenever anyone has something to say to you you find a way to steer it towards the bible and color, because if it was anything else you’d just have nothing to write about (your sentence-long posts in this topic is proof that you have nothing of worth to say.
