Beyonce didn’t look like shakira in her first destiny child days (go back and look at photos), she started looking like her when she JACKED HER STYLE, when she started her solo career. And at that time, when beyonce came out with her first solo project, shakira had been taking a two-three year hiatus. Beyonce probably thought no one would notice since they sung on two totally different genres at the time. Shakira was on the latin genre and did a pepsi or coke commercial and i dont think the black community was much into her at that time. And true to form, everyone thought Beyonce had invented that look and was being original: P*L*E*A*S*E!!!!!!!!! There is nothing original about her but them ugly gowns her mother makes. The “Beautiful Liar” is ..wel.. beautiful. I loved it! I’ve always thought that Beyonce and Shakira favired each other. I’ve seen them in magazines and have confused for each other, more than once. But the song and video are great. Upgrade on the other hand….that’s my sh*t!!!! But, I have to say I was a bit dissapointed in the concept of the video. The song is so hot, there are so many ways they could have went with that video. I would have preferred a story telling video. Once where it starts at a bar…a guy send her a drink..”sending me a drink ‘aint appeasin’ believe me..” etc. In teh vidoe of course she looks great, but they wer lazy with this one. This had so much potential to be the hottest video ever..but unfortunately it fell short.

I actually like both of the videos. This is the Bey I grew to like in the beginning. Upgrade U has grown on me and I am loving the song. Probably because the beat is just sick. Here in the south that is what we’re all about…good beats. Don’t like the big dookie braid she rocking in this video though. I think Shakira and Bey did the damn thing in Beautiful Liar. Dancing moves was just off the chain. Shakira knows she know how to work those hips!

Beyonce’ doesnt need to take a break. If people dont want to hear or see her then they asses can simply turn the channel. Thats just the way it is. Beyonce and Shakira did look a lot alike. As far as Upgarde U. Yeah it’s ok, but kinda reminds of both Amerie’s This 1 Thing AND Bey’s Baby Boy for some reason. I don’t know why. It just seems like an old concept to me, like it’s been done already 9probably by Beyonce herself). But the truth is that Shakira came out with her video for “Whenever Wherever” in 2001 and blew JLo and everybody else out the water. Bee was still with DC and didn’t release her first solo effort until 2003. When Dangerously In Love did come out, Bee was coming for JLo (remember she hired JLo’s stylist and all that…) and you could see Shakira’s swagger in the “Baby Boy” video and a little bit in the “Crazy In Love” video. And yes, Bee has since come out and said that she admires Shakira. It shows! Big ups to both of them though. They are both sizzling in the video. The song is aiight but the girls are FIYAH!
