Christina Aguilera recently came out with a new video for the latest single from the album “Back to Basics.” It’s one of the more contemporary songs from her album – I can say that I knew this would be one of the singles because of it’s radio friendly-ness. Christina looks great in the video though, I like these hair colors.

I agree with #12. Back To Basics is a great album but this has got to be the WORST song on it. Why didn’t she come out with “Without You” or “On Our Way” or something.

I agree with Tanna. This is also one my least favorite songs off the album, but the video makes the song a little better. She should have released one of her more soulful/r&b songs, like “Without You,” “On Our Way,” “Undertand,” “Slow Down Baby,” hell, even “Mercy on Me.” She keeps releasing these pop-sounding stuff when she has more than this to offer. But I’m not hating. I’m still a fan and she is definitely one the best mainstream vocalists out there right now.

i love a few of the songs on back to basics..and I like the fact that her music is being played on black stations like WHUR (howard university radio) but overall the album is a big ass throwback to the 1920′s. It’s wizaaack!!!

this video is so cute. when i first heard this song, i didn’t like it in the least bit, but the more i listened to the more i realized how catchy it is. it’s one of those songs you find yourself singing throughout the day. i know she’s going to be going in a more R&B direction for her 4th single, since this one and hurt were pop. my bet would be on either slow down baby or understand. slow down baby is the most radio friendly and commercial single of the entire album and understand could be her equivalent to beyonce’s irreplaceable. if either of those 2 are singles, i sure hope she goes back to xtina and how we saw her in the tell me video.
in response to #36, there are only 3 songs on the album that have that 20s,30s, 40s vibe: candyman, nasty naughty boy, and i got trouble. disc 1 if anything ranges from 60s/70s soul influenced songs (back in the day, ain’t no other man, understand) to early 90s R&B jams like slow down baby and still dirrty.
I love how she got DJ Premier to produce for her album. I think she should release “Still Dirrty” next.

Yall are trippin’, this song is definitely not the worst on the album. I give her much much respect for her jazz side as it pays respect to the blacks that created the music. On her cd she gives props to alotta black jazz artists, the first genuine american pop sound. It’s a same that she has to be the only chick to pay homage to that era. You’d think more of the sistes in the industry would be singing praises to the likes of ella fitzgerald and Lena Horne.
For the people who don’t know the concept of the album its old vibe with modern day twist. Back in the day’s beat is sick!I love Save me from myself too.

“Without You” is the business for me right now. I also love “Understand” and “Save me from myself”. “Slow down baby” is the next single and “Understand” is definately going to be released. I don’t think “Without You” is though. I LOVE that song so I’m mad at that.

As far as her sales go, she’s at 3.5 million worldwide right now and 1.5 in the U.S. Good for only TWO songs and next to zero promotion.

I love the video. I think the song is cute, and I like big band music because I like swing dancing.
I know a lot of people are tired of the more retro-inspired songs on her album, but my thing is the songs are on the album already, it’s not like she’s gonna turn around and release completely different songs that weren’t on it in the first place.
I’d love to see “Understand” or “Without You” as her next single. The thing I love about Christina is she doesn’t release a ton of singles within a few months. I think she’s had a lot of great quality songs since Stripped. She’s an amazing singer, and I can’t wait to see her on tour this April!
